A pair of teenagers stuck in a time loop begin making a map of every perfect moment in their town as they try to decide if the lack of growing up is a good thing or not. Subscribe to our friends channel: tinyurl.com/Movie-Recaps
It’s realistic just very rare. My algebra teacher has a degree in the sciences, so she understand science and explains complex concepts if we need help with them.
I haven't seen the movie, just this recap. However, mathematics is used to explore and explain physics. I'm not a math teacher nor a physicist but I have a general understanding of both. It's entirely reasonable that a highschool math teacher would know math beyond what they're teaching. To me, the strangest thing is that the day loops at midnight... as if that were fundamental to the universe. A time loop of 24 hours seems far too specific. The concept of a day is a human construct. We needed a way to understand and decribe our experience of time and created minutes and hours to do so. Our clocks are based on the rotation of the Earth and would be essentially useless on any other planet in our solar system. As to how time would loop? It would have to curve back onto itself. Massive objects, like black holes, effect the flow of time. But that would effect everyone... not just two people. It would also destroy the planet... The universe may be locked in a time loop, but that would only loop once every lifetime of the universe. By our current understanding of physics and the universe, there is no way a time loop as shown in this movie could exist. The mechanism is beyond our understanding and would best be described as "magic" as it breaks the fundamental laws of the universe. Unless some higher dimensional being is pulling their consciousness at the end of the day and placing them backwards in time. Mention of the fourth dimension in the film. Although there is currently argument against, time had been accepted as being the fourth dimension. We can move through 3 dimensions willingly but we cannot control our movement through time. From a mathematical perspective, the fourth dimension is different. If you take a sphere (3d) and cast light to produce a shadow, the shadow appears as a circle (2d). If you take a hypersphere (4d sphere) and cast light to produce a shadow, the shadow appears as a sphere (3d). Furthermore, if you took a sphere (3d) and sliced it into infinitely thin layers, you'd have two dots and circles of various sizes. If you did the same with a hypersphere, you'd have two dots and spheres of various sizes. As of now, the human mind cannot comprehend 4d shapes and we cannot produce 4d shapes. But we can see their shadows which appear in 3d. Needless to say, there is no logical explanation for two people being stuck in a timeloop. There's no reason the time should loop every 24 hours exactly at midnight. Science nor math could explain what is happening.
@@kyleaegis5613 you're thinking too hard about it. Chick said she made a wish and something heard her and granted it, most likely a 4th dimensional being. That being would know human time perception. And possibly create a singularity.
Since they knew how to end it they should have done 1 more repeat to make it the best day possible. Could easily have had his unemployed dad win the lottery.
While I too feel it was a wasted opportunity, bear in mind that the “perfect moment” that ended the loop was their sincere realisation and acceptance of reality, which cannot be replicated
@@shadowthing8131 Yep im pretty sure she never had the winning ticket in the first place. Which means they could create any the whole time. That and the pool kiss which didnt even happen orginally as they didnt know eachother.
If I was in a time loop I'd learn everything I could before leaving the loop. Like train jujitsu and muay thai, learn to play piano, coding, ride a motorcycle, learn 3d sculpting and sculpting, read all the books, and so on
yes it did, it kinda wanna watch the movie now (wish they would always include the title in the descriptions), but already felt all the emotions during this video.... lol
A time loop like this would be fantastic especially if you had a sizable amount of money in the bank you could try out and learn all kinds of amazing things and if there was one person in it that you didn’t hate that you can spend it with that would be pretty cool
Being in a loop means you can make as much money in the day as you'll need. You can even steal it if it comes down to that. Money is hardly the limiting factor. Assuming you don't care about the consequences if the loop breaks.
By the end of this one Movierecaps, I wished I had just watched this all the way through. I LOVE science fiction romance movies, especially when time loops sre involved. Man, really should've listened to my instincts when I read the title.
Still many other time loop movies to check out though. Like ARQ, Edge of Tomorrow, Triangle, Timecrimes, Palm Springs, No Escape Room, Predestination, 2:22, Repeaters, Coherence, Boss Level, 12:01, Happy Death Day, Source Code, Time Trap, and of course Groundhog’s Day.
Ahah I’m the same, I was like “damn that’s a good title” and wish I hadn’t watched the whole thing, afterwards I got up and walk around my house and tried to appreciate everything but it’s 11pm and every bodies in bed so I saw my cat and tried to pat it and it ran away
Sort have happens in repeaters. 3 people are time looping and 2 of them decide to start working on themselves while the 3rd guy gets worse. When he kills people, the day actually didn't reset and and they were actually on the next day.
More than the time loop events, I like the philosophic thinking on what spending your life time until death really means. And I like the answer given, going ahead, keeping the good thing of the ones we lose.
My favourite is Happy death day where she have to figure out her killer before being killed every night. Also some similar genre movies: Time-Lapse where they find a machine which can take pictures 24hrs ahead in time. And Project Almanac based on butterfly effect.
The looping, main character doing wacky stuff and remembering everything to a tee, and finding a girl that is stuck in a loop too... Palm Springs vibe strong on this one
@@zazi5305 Sure, but what're they gonna do? He has no repercussions for his actions as everything is reset everyday. Barring that, he could have easily sabotaged his parents cars to keep her there for a day, since it would be fixed by the following morning.
As his sister said, he is very much self absorbed. Even after being stuck in the time loop for so long, he didn't know bare minimum about his family, didn't attend his sister's game, didn't even _try_ to meet his mom. He is self centred.
@@calculator4482was. His character development was good in a way. He started to appreciate the tiny perfect things in life instead of being indifferent.
I always felt like I lived in a time loop because everyday just feels the same, doing the same thing again and again without anything ever changing at all, except of course the interactions I do to others.
That is basically how we are supposed to be in reality, it's a reminder that we have to be kind and thoughtful and life gets better as you help people.
You are the shadow of your 4th dimension self... To think of it, theoritically its possible, but just dont know how yet... Maybe if you wish hard enough like Margaret, u can...
If I was stuck in a time loop, I’d love to take all that time to recharge and rest, then go ahead and focus on honing my skills. I’m talking art, writing, new languages, driving, math, the works. Then, if I figure out how to break the loop, it’ll be like I took one day and suddenly became a genius.
Just one thing that i would like to point out that doesnt made to this recap is, previously she pointed out that the theory of time as the 4th dimension is wrong... But in the end, she solved the tesseract by making a time string... which is interesting if you know it... theres so much thought process involve into making this movie...
I'd be to busy freaking the fuck out. Find me after golf. You should find me at the police station or psychward for shouting at people for help. I'll be high as a kite on some wicked drugs. Lmao.
For anyone interested in more stories about time loops, I highly recommend the novel "Mother Of Learning." It's an absolute gem with superb story building, captivating characters, and a truly fascinating storyline. Trust me, it's definitely worth your time. Give it a go!
I hate how in all these movies about loops they present the restart of normal time as a happy ending when in reality a loop is the best thing that could ever happen to anyone Especially if it's not just for one day, it means being able to do what you want when you want with whoever you want, forever making anyone stuck inside practically immortal Who wouldn't want to be immortal?
Wow... This one makes me want to watch the movie instead of usually feeling like I just watched it. You should do one of, The Fault of our Stars. That's an interesting movie I'd like to see how you recap it.
Technically it’s a 3D *projection* of what a 4D cube would look like. Sort of like drawing a 3D cube on a piece of (2D) paper. More accurately you would build that 3D projection with a 3D printer or from scratch. Edit: I will point out for the pedantic who find it difficult to read past the second sentence that the first sentence should read “2D projection of what a 4D”. Also I watched the movie afterward and it’s pretty good. They do a correct job explaining what is going on. The writer of the short story and script is a _Time_ magazine technology writer. He gets many science and math observations correct. Although for me it was a bit perplexing in that do they really teach topology or projection geometry in AP nowadays? I mean I never took it back in the day, but I also never took those subjects in my undergrad. Also has some classics (ancient Greek) mythology references.
@@joshdeconcentrated2674 I just stated that in long form. You know, it starts with “More accurately…”? You can take solace in that only 20 people understood what I meant before you came along.
@@bartholemewiscandarusferle7960 I understand the joke, but you’re not dumb. We as 3D objects living in a 3D world can’t really “see” 4D. They go into it a bit in the movie. Thing I thought was funny though is the FL goes on to say time is not really the 4th dimension in a Euclidean sense. Which is true but then she uses time as her fourth variable to construct her hypercube.
I think this channel is for the people who can't sit through a bloated mostly boring movie. So, we get the readers digest version because it's easier to sit through this. I'll be honest. I couldn't finish this movie if I tried, but this summed up version helps.
but we dont want to be immortal, we just want be with the ones we love longer. if we live longer than whom we love, we will only see them die. its nice to toy with that thought, but we dont truly want to live that life.
Technically speaking, yes, you are immortal. But everything is the same. Any human would be driven insane because of this repetitive scenario. If you were just immortal, and the loop didn't happen at all, you would have time to travel the world, see countries falling and rising. See man conquering space. Maybe you even get to go to another planet, and have the opportunity to explore it. And then move on. Again and again. Immortality in a loop os torture. Immortality by itself wouldn't be.
And thats how I got a girlfriend. Time stopped, went through everything many many MANY times. And then, we created these memories. And then we got together and we spent all our time together in the future.
I really love time loop movies 1st one i watched was groundhog day which is still my favorite and yesterday i watched edge og tomorrow and it was also quite interesting
