I'm sorry but I almost cried when he used his self-promotion time to tell you to teach your kids to cook. That is IT!!!!!!! If you can, do it! You are doing them the biggest service!
I totally agree...you can't go through life eating fast food or dining out at restaurants all the time. There are a handful of things people can learn in order to cook a decent meal at home.
Latchkey kid here who was fed a lot of McDonalds and finally just taught myself to cook from hours and hours watching the cooking channel. Some parents don't know how to cook themselves, it should be a more important part of schooling not just something you think is for girls.
Has this generation become so obsessed and amazed with the mundane that teaching your child is considered an amazing gift? Man, common sense really is "wisdom" now a days lol.
This aged so well. During COVID lock down, Guy gathered his family around, got his restauranteur friends to send meals to be prepped. Family involved in cooking, free advertising for nearly closed restaurants, entertainment for locked down peeps... wth are people sh**ting on Guy for? jealousy. LOVE this man.
I just noticed that Guy was giving some constructive criticism there when Sean asked how he helps a Chef feel comfortable before going on camera. Guy’s response was “I don’t know, I get th shitty wings and tell them they can’t wear black.” That’s DEFINITELY what the hot ones team did. 😂 this show has come a long way!
What I find incredible is that they kept it in. That takes some courage to publicly show your own faults. More recently, I've seen a couple of guests mention how good the wings are. Sean said to thank the chef who was an in house chef. It looks like they took that criticism to heart since this interview.
i gotta give props to this guy for keeping the same haircut since the release of linkin parks first album, that is dedication right there (and its possible hes still under contract to keep it but who knows)
not sure if you noticed but that stand up guy talked for the first few minutes about how he was begging for free shoes for his kid... thats a bit more vile then throwing a plug.. also i doubt he hag anything worth plugging
Seamo One dont know if that's directed towards me but I didnt mention his personality or the type of person he is I nearly stated that he does have a bunch of stuff to plug that's all have a great day
Oh no Simply directed towards that asshole! I love this show. That prick has an Ego the size of Texas.... But I do understand what you're saying.. But.. keep in mind, he's constantly traveling & on the food network.. not much to plug.. Thank you btw, Have a great day yourself Noob 3365
i'm not being a dick .. i'm considering the the interview.. youre right though , in the sense that his look is his brand and that brand is a large part of a network's marketing thus just him being seen in a visual market "is" a plug. side note- his restaurants get terrible reviews and he had a bunch of complaints on his cooking show because he didnt wash his hands causing cross contamination. these things show that his look is the valuable commodity not his talent.
When I heard him so sincerely say, "Teach your kids to cook" , I was so, so touched and happy. It is truly scary to me how many people I know who don't know you can make pancakes if you are out of baking mix. Or how many of my kid's friends come to my house who next to never have a true home cooked meal. It is absolutely a life skill.
Guy Fieri: Says he's not extremely into hot food. Also Guy Fieri: Eats a big slice out of every single wing up to Da Bomb and the Last Dab with no problems whatsoever, without taking a single sip of water or milk.
I know this was 4 years ago, but man, he earned my respect when he was doing this show as promotion for his cook book, but took the end of the show to just express his love for food and hopefulness that new generations of kids take to making food delicious. right on, Guy
@xxNacional narduwar is full of deep cuts, but sean does that while also making the guest comfortable and conversational. Definitely more of a host that Nard, no disrespect
Woooooow!!! He skipped the plug and gave life advice instead. I've only ever seen Guy a few times on the covers of magazines and in short commercial spots, but he's gained my respect with this outro. What a classy move.
@@blagelaglaze5776 Gordon was breaking down long before he got to the 2,000,000 though. If I remember correctly, he started to break down around Da Bomb
I lost it at that... At the end when he is all calm after insanity or whatever the hottest is called i was like... wait... did he just "no sell" (wrestling term for not acting hurt when struck) the hot sauces??? and then he said no water no milk and i died laughing. talk about mike drop.
Water makes it worse exactly like you said. but that's temporary. As soon as saliva starts to be produced water will aid in washing said oils down. Which is why water helps....a lot of water.
venone05 Just saw that part and started to notice before. I usually like to see how much everyone drinks, but Guy is the only guest to not drink any at all!!
Wes Cameron his places tend to get hated on a lot. He opened one up in my town and it got immediate hate from most people. And when I went, it definitely was not as good as the prices he asked for
I always thought he was just an on camera persona, but between the way he talked at the end and how he was mostly unphased by the sauces, He genuinely seems like a super cool dude.
People give him a hard time, but most people who actually know anything about him know that he's a pure, benevolent human being who cares about people. I love Guy Fieri.
This is one of my favorite episodes. Guy just made everything so much more interesting. Like when he was teasing Sean for his hand gestures and they decided to edit in a short compilation of him gesturing with music, or when he perfectly explained that recipe, like he was narrating the video along.. just so fun to watch
Shout to the editor for the transition at 16:27 when Guy said "You can blow it up with this stuff" and the following scene was "DA BOMB" hot sauce. Details like that don't go unnoticed. Take a bow, son.
I met guy and spent a good deal of time with him. My company hired him to do an appearance. After the show he took a bunch of us out to the bar and bought the entire bar drinks. Multiple rounds by the way. And he just sat with everyone and talked about life. Just a stand up guy all around!!!
During my last holiday to America, I binged Food network in the evenings and there was a lot of Fieri shows on. Fieri *looks* like someone I would hate to hang with but his personality really shines through. A good example of the “don't judge by the cover.”
That recipe was a fail! Never use a roux for queso because when it cools off a little it gets a skin and gets really thick! Get a half stick of unsalted butter nice and hot in a sauce pan then hit it with cream cheese that's been chunked and stir it like crazy until it comes together hit it with a little milk to loosen it and then stir in sharp cheddar or whatever cheese you want a little at a time so it doesn't separate and you've got a damn good cheese sauce that won't clump up and reheats well.
@@AdolfFauci so you're telling me that Béchamel one of the four mother sauces of french cuisine and is used as a base in mornay, is not suited for a queso cheese dip. You sir need to get your palate checked or bone up on your cooking skills.
I think it's because he knows it's easy to send money, but that it's better for everybody if he used his skills as a chef. That way at least he knows he's making a direct contribution that actually makes a difference. A good meal is good for focus.
He seems like a genuine guy who is naturally "on" because he knows his shit and he's passionate about what he does. You can't hate on someone like that unless you're just a hater.
What a lovely person. He’s a hero. Talk about using your fame for good. Every disaster that happens in California, especially NorCal, he’s there and he’s feeding people. I would be honored to buy this dude a beer. Guy, hit me up.
Love love love the ending statement. Every other self righteous Gen X'er just moans about kids being lazy and not just knowing certain skills, Guy preaches it's the parent's responsibility to TEACH those things.
It's not a political statement, its a fact. Teach kids to cook, do taxes, SAVE FRIGGIN MONEY! Teaches them to be dependent on themselves, responsibility, and to learn constantly. It will prevent them from being dependent on others (like the government if ppl want to be political all of a sudden).
@@josephlopez4871 so your saying that parents have to teach? Yeah no shit. Your blaming kids for being self righteous assholes when guys are the ones teaching it? Tf? The Republican in both of you is showing
Was never a fan of Guy until I find out how much he helps common ppl and the amount he donates .. makes me realize this guy is actually a pretty amazing human being
I used to want to hate this guy, but I cant. He is just a good dude I mean the name of his wine is his kids names . He may be a bit exaggerated for me but fuck he is a good dude and his final message is just great!
Seriously one of my favorites!! Guy is an amazing guy!! I love how he was smart and pulled the chicken off of the wing then popped it in his mouth instead of biting it and getting it all over his lips! SMART!!
Guy is a standup person. I regret to say I was one of those that originally judged him for his flames bowling shirts and 90s hair, but I started watching GGG and then DDD and I have to say he's an amazing host and just a good guy. Never says an unkind thing about anyone. This was a great episode!
His whole statement about teaching your kids to cook, it being a legit life skill, and our dependence on restaurants and processed foods ended up being even more relevant in 2020.
Guy just indirectly gave you one of the best promotional ideas ever..... why aren't you guys having the guests sign the Hot Ones bottle and then do Twitter giveaways with them every week?
Best interviewer ever, totally underrated. Seriously it doesn't get better than this, and it's rare to see something executed to perfection and this guy nails it every time.
This is one of my favorite episodes. Guy just made everything so much more interesting. Like when he was teasing Sean for his hand gestures and they decided to edit in a short compilation of him gesturing with music, or when he perfectly explained that recipe, like he was narrating the video along.. just so fun to watch
He's right tho. In high school my Spanish teacher rewarded our high regents scores by purchasing deep dish from Chicago and having it shipped to us in NY , frozen essentually. Super overrated style. I'd take a ny slice any day of the week,.or some classic woodfired shit.
Deep Dish Pizza is just bread with stuff on it. It's an illusion that you're getting more pizza when you are just getting more bread then anything else, and you eat less pizza that way.
