Hair and beauty.. he should've used pre relax treatment.. kit (I'm not talking about the scalp protector) which protects both the scalp and has UV and use a special relaxer or perm that is for colour treated hair.. (those do exist and you can easily find them on Amazon under perms and relaxers) but the fact he used a plain 'Ol relaxer on his already chemically processed hair isn't good and he's gonna need a lot of biogen, hair shots, and Brazilian hair treatments.. and macadamia oil treatments.. Chile...
@@YunikuYosefMomoka the only thing is, even a perm for color treated hair tells you not to use it on bleached hair. Bleach is no joke. Olaplex is a great help though!
I literally had a woman ask me what I could do to her granddaughter’s hair to make it straight since it was so thick, wiry and curly. I told he that she needed to buy products geared towards ethnic hair. She literally was shocked that I suggested those and told me that her granddaughter was white and I didn’t know what I was talking about. I also had suggested a relaxer but I was hesitant since I don’t think anyone should use them. She huffed ad walked away and asked someone else in the salon who looked more educated than me. The other stylist suggested the same thing. Needless to say I try to explain to everyone that skin color never determines hair type, ever
Totally agree!! I stopped using relaxers in '99 because of a stylist I met through one of my Asian friends who is Korean. My friend was her client and I was shocked when I first met her and found out she was black! My inital thought was "what does this black woman know about Asian hair?" Looking at my friend I thought her hair was sleek, silky, and easy to manage but I was wrong! Her hair was actually thicker and more dense than mine lol. She was going to a stylist for a wash, blow out and straightening with a flat iron just like me lol. I can't remember everything the stylist said about the similarities between Asian and Black hair but I learned a lot and that was in '99.
@@lbridge6112 Hi! The Asian community has hair that is actually very similar to our hair. It's crazy how uneducated I was to think that "straight hair" or "textured hair" was relative to race. 😑🚫
Once, I was standing in line behind someone at a discount retail store. My cousin was the cashier, so she spoke to me while ringing up the other customer. My cousin believed the Luster's pink oil moisturizer was mine. The customer in front of me, a white lady, said, "no, that's mine. That's the only thing I can find to tame this hair".
💯 I have had white people with my hair texture and black people with pin straight hair. People don’t know that some white people actually get relaxers. Some black people actually get perms. People need to handle hair that is placed before them. Just because something is not common doesn’t mean it’s not possible.
Linwood, funny story: A very long time ago, my bff told me she could dye my then relaxed hair a beautiful golden honey blonde. I had relaxed hair back then, so we waited about 3 weeks before the process. First of all, I thought she was going to use a box dye. I didn't know she was actually going to bleach my hair. She said that a box dye wouldn't lift my hair that light since my hair was so dark. Well, it was real pretty for a couple weeks until all my hair started coming out like mad crazy. I had a little peach fuzz only on top of my head, but truly I was bald. I bought these two awful wigs.🤦🏽♀️ I wasn't the wig connoisseur that I am today.😂😂😂 I vowed NEVER AGAIN will I ever try that mess again. I've never even got a rinse color after that. My hair is natural and has been for the last 8 years. So now, if I want blonde hair... Wig. If I want straight hair... Wig. 😐
Thank you! Right now my views aren’t super consistent, companies like sponsoring creators who consistently deliver the views they are looking for. Maybe one day someone will reach out though!
I saw that TikTok some time ago and all I was thinking was whyyyyyyy would he do this??? He already had bleached hair so adding a no lye relaxer was going to send his hair over the edge.
Interestingly enough, I don’t think it was for views. Unfortunately a lot of people don’t read the back of the box or the warnings, and these companies count on it, especially when their marketing department makes the font on those warnings so small that it feels like a strain to read it. In his instance I think it was simply ignorance to the chemical and how aggressive it is.
He wore out my hair patience with this one. He didn’t follow the rules, now he wants a hug? No sir. He knew it would be disastrous because he videoed it for Tic Toc.
Why do I feel like we all need you to stop us from destroying our hair. Seriously, I was today years old learning you can't relax bleached hair but can bleach relaxed hair!
He definitely violated the rules of hair engagement! When I was younger I was very adventurous with my hair and did all kinds of silly combos. NOW, I don’t even wanna cover my grays 😂😂😂
I had a friend who relaxed, then colored her hair. Her hair came out in chunks. She had to do a pixie. It was traumatizing to her to say the least. Happy Resurrection weekend to you and your family.
@@GetGlamFam Y’all can keep her. She’s adorable and I love her smile, but I don’t have that kind of energy. I’ll just watch her smile and be cute and video bomb you every chance she gets.
Mannnnnnn my sister did this back in 2001 I wanna say? She was young and a “friend” told her to relax her bleached and cherry red hair to get the rinse out. It took A LOT of ApHogee treatments and a SHORT pixie cut!
@@GetGlamFam Linwood I love your content and positive personality. Although my curl pattern would be defined as 3C/4A, my strands are very fine, more silky, soft. My hair wasn't damaged, but the dye changed the feeling of my hair. I just didn't like it.
@@GetGlamFam hey Linwood I’m in need of some advice.I’m noticing some splits ends and little breakage here and there and Idk why.I have type 4 low porosity hair and I last trimmed in December.I feel like I finally have a good routine I shampoo, deep condition, moisturize, seal and upkeep it every 3 days. Why am I still having breakage and split ends? Thanks in advance.
I did this once I lie to the hairdresser she did the relaxer all the front of my hair fell off!!!!!!!! I used a hair scarf for 2 years with my very blonde straight hair 😩😩😩😩😩 I was a dummy
@@GetGlamFam It's an acquired taste, everyone else I'm around think it taste like vinegar. I use to hate it when i was younger now it's one of the only things i drink besides regular tea and water
@@sadieadler4383 no Sadie, that’s not the case, hair can look healthy and be in need of protein. It can look healthy and have heat damage. Damage is far more than split ends and breakage.
@@GetGlamFam Then how can I know if my hair is damaged it looks shiny and healthy to me or do I need a microscope to really see what's going on? And what happens when you mix relaxer and lightener together does it create a toxic gas?
Heat damage is more apparent in the structural changes of your curls and waves. If the hair is stretchy when wet, it needs protein. If the hair feels hard or dry it needs addition moisture. If you have done any chemical treatment, the hair has endured some degree of damage.
Hi Linwood, thanks for always keeping us so informed. I really enjoy the info you share❤️ Question, I have relaxes hair and I take really good care to keep it moisturized. I'm starting to gray but only around my edges. My hair stylist usually applies a rinse for me, but I haven't had that in several months. I purchased the Rainbow brand henna and I'm going to use that since it's more natural. It's my 1st time doing it myself, any advise? Thanks
Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you! For all your content. Oh and you're the best Dad everrrrr! Can l add to the auction? And my boys are grown! Luv ya boo! Bye.
😀😃☺😂😅😮😕😑 We all fall short and make mistakes that can't be reversed in our own power. We all need help from the most knowledge Source to set us straight (no pun intended).😀
Help Linwood! I’m allergic to ppd in hair color. Which hair color can I use. I hate the greys. There has to be something. Please simi permanent or chalk. Help.
So u see all of us black women going natural due to the damage relaxers cause and think you’re exempt? Narcissism, delusion, supremacy, arrogance, and stupidity are the initial 5 words that come to mind 🤦🏽♀️
Ppl just gotta read the instructions... the glove paper is important My mama double relaxed her hair in 72 hours- her and my daddy were hair twins for a good while 👩🦲 👨🦲 Now, where do I sign up for the Lina and Zan auction? I’m the fun auntie, but I need to see the fine print on your return policy bc I tend to give kids back once they show out.
@@DaLionessDaHuntress + listen, it’s sniggle worthy! 20 years later and we still crack up at that. And my parents are old school and like to dress similar so it was wild. 😂
😂🤣 not twinning! Lol these kids don’t show out, but the youngest is loud and rough, with no personal space boundaries...and the oldest is hecka hyper with a shortage of common sense and a splash of sass. You’ve been warned! 😂
Linwood I love you and your beautiful family. I am a new subscriber and i find your channel to be very informative. Can you please talk about your thoughts on the 30 day hair detox.
I don't understand the fascination with bleached hair with anyone. White, Black, Puerto Rican , Asian, other, etc. anyone - it rarely even looks good and usually comes out looking fried. IF it does look good, you get a good 2 weeks out of it before it looks dull and ugly.
Yes reading the warning lable and instructions veryimportant and many don't do when it comes to coloring, perm relaxing that's RU-vid has professionals who put videos and explain what to do not to do but his watching I thought ya cut the damage hair start over because how badly it's damaged there is no saving that hair you can I agree💯 We love mini Allison 2.0 😁😍
Hi Linwood, I'm a new subscriber and I LOVE your videos! I really like your product reviews. I was wondering about your opinion of Cantu hair products?
Thanks so much! I appreciate you watching! Cantu is a hit or miss line. Some of their products work well for some people, and for others they are the absolute worst. I don’t fool with them because I never know if they will perform as expected on every client or head of hair.
Hi is there any good moisturizer for my granddaughters hair. I am i South Africa. Any good product which i can purchase. She have coily hair very dry not to managable. I have watched your videos really amazing. Could not stop watching
My favorite professional relaxer is the Vitale Pro “Safe RX” system. It’s hard to get your hands on but it is a true mild, which is why I love it. Believe it or not, Paul Mitchell made a great relaxer too, but I think they are phasing it out of production.
Oh Chile! I had red bleached hair. Six months later I thought I could relax it. It broke off a tad bit. It’s growing back now since I had a stylist cut my ends. So I learned from that mistake! 🤦🏾♀️
@@GetGlamFam Yesssssss! I was so shocked seeing my hair in the drain. 🤦🏾♀️And yea it takes time for it grow back. It’s slowly growing back. I can’t believe I did that. My hair was full and healthy. It’s a little thinner now. Love your vids. Your daughters are blessed to have you as their dad!
I color and bleach my hair if your doing it at home boxes, sally products etc will say do not use on relaxed hair. When i used the OG Dark n lovely luminous blonde it said only use on non relaxed hair. I remeber alot of relaxed girls being offered color rinses, semi permanent or highlights through low developer. If you have relaxed hair only a professional thats high level should attempt any coloring especially if your going more then two shades lighter or darker. The products give warnings people trying to go viral and get paid, the dude was looking like he wanted to laugh.
I knew better!!! Whyyyy did I just watch this at 2:30am with a house full of sleeping people?!!!!! I look like a rabid dog gritting teeth while tears run! 🤣😂🤣😂
LOL!! CPS.. My grandbaby, 3yrs old, she is FULL of it! Yesterday, she opened the door and attempted to go outside by herself. I was standing 30 paces away at the kitchen island. I yelled her first name, used her middle name and "STOP." Seeing she knows what is best..she turns around and said.."Going Outside." (Well, I guess she does not like her middle name..lol.) Then she gives a look.."I am (her name) STINKER!!!" We also reference her as a Turdler instead of a Toddler. I am VERY careful and don't use the phrase "Turdler" outside the house. Her other grandparents, think she is an Angel from heaven, doing no wrong! Oops..I let Turdler slip out of my mouth, durning a grandparent visit. They looked like they was gonna call the CPS on me! Thanks for turning the video into a teaching moment.
Darn I had a feeling that was kombucha what flavor do you like? I don't care for it, but maybe I haven't tried a decent flavor. Onto the video don't relaxer boxes usually have a warning about not relaxing hair that has been bleached. And bleaching hair is relaxing that is why Olaplex is such a big deal. Relaxers damage the internal integrity of one's hair, the hair can't be bleached. I feel bad for the poor guy that he didn't know that, but I hope he didn't call out sick to work. More than likely his co-workers watch his Tik tok videos, they probably know that he wasn't sick.
I always go for anything with ginger, for some strange reason I like the burn 😂 Ginger Lemonade is one of my faves. (It’s the one I was drinking in the video)
Mannnn you never answer my questions! Ive been trying to figure out this hair of mine since I did the big chop...and I mean big!! Like Mr. Clean bald lol two years ago. I totally love your channel it’s super educational and fun. The cute kiddos make it even better, every now and again I have a question but it never gets a response. I’m convinced....y’all hate me!!😩🤦🏾♀️😭
Hey GlamFam... Sorry I've never caught your name. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind doing a video about gray hair. In my 40's I had to have a hysterectomy and immediately went into menopause. Shortly after that I decided to cut out as many chemicals as possible due to being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Now I'm 56 and dealing with how all these (MS, Menopause, and graying) composites that have changed my hair. I watched your video on porosity and found it very informative. I get so frustrated watching the younger people videos because my hair had totally changed. I know there are a few ladies with gray hair on RU-vid but I have yet to find one that is a cosmetologist. I have plenty of questions but my biggest concern is, when I was in my 40's I had a decent curl pattern. Now my hair doesn't have much of a curl pattern and it's super dry. I'm wondering, is that normal? Should I use a clarifying shampoo or am I needing a protein treatment? Or is that just what happens when your 75% - 85% gray? If you know of some other RU-vidrs that I could benefit from, feel free to let me know. I hope to hear from you. I could use some experts advice.
This is why you go to a professional. They teach us how to deal with chemicals and keep your hair on your head. 💁🏾♀️ If you don’t then do your research and use credible sources.
Hello my name is Destany, I love your videos you have! I was wondering if you could do a sew in extension video. I'm having the hardest time ever understanding and making it all come together! Please help me out here! Lol
The video looked so staged to me. I feel like 90% of people just do stupid stuff/stage stuff for attention. It’s weird and sad. Why do people need this kind of attention? Why can’t they get attention for a talent rather than staging stuff?
hey i had relaxed my hair and two weeks after I bleached my hair with Salon bleacher and peroxide so my hair is fine and actually have not fallen out and i actually used a mixer of conditioner and hair oil on my hair before bleaching it and my hair did not break off nor did i have any dryness, but i do get what happened and what your saying
If it wasn't for my instructor me and another student was about to do this. It was at least 2 weeks between but her bleach job caused her hair to fill the air with a blow dryer...she was gonna be bald.
