It’s almost shameful how much I’d give to see Fugazi live. Once Covid finally dies off, that would be the greatest thing to get us back into the live show groove.

They still perform, but not publicly. These are the best sources I can find that shed some light: www.loudersound.com/features/the-messthetics-are-the-band-every-fugazi-fan-needs-in-their-life www.culturecreature.com/fugazi-reunion/

I feel sorry for Guy. Ian just decided to put Fugazi on hiatus and that was that. Guy has said he was so low after that, he wanted Fugazi to keep playing, as did we all.
@JMarinelli
@JMarinelli Год назад
I am certain that Ian had his reasons and didn’t arbitrarily declare Fugazi on hiatus.
@pabloisusi6097
@pabloisusi6097 Год назад
I don't think that was the reason. They decided to stop in order to priorize other things in life like rising families, as they could not dedicate the time Fugazi needed in order to commit excellence. Thats it. You should not feel sorry for anyone, i'm sure he was not low or whatever...I'm sure they remain friends, love each other.

@@pabloisusi6097Brendan has 4 kids, he’s never stopped playing music. In dc, you go to a show, say Antelope. Ian & Amy are there, Guy and Kathi too. You see Brendan. Probably see Joe, not that I would recognize him in a dark room. In dc everyone is in a band & you see most everyone at shows. None are trying to “make it”. Pretty sure they stopped because they felt it had run it’s course.
@ScottMasson
@ScottMasson 9 месяцев назад
@@crypttonite it did run its course. Playing any of subgenre of rock music with that much intensity isn’t something that works very well after one’s late 30s. I’m a musician. As you get older, you just can’t do intense rock as well as you age. You need to play different types of music. It’s just the natural order of things. 🤷‍♂️
@crypttonite
@crypttonite 9 месяцев назад
@@ScottMassonna, that’s not it. for me Guy’s performances r a put off, a little histrio. Are age & intensity connected? Don’t think so. Energy & age, maybe a lil, raw energy. I ca still be a total spaz playing basketball & I am up there. as for playing music, age 30, what of it, it’s nothing. Krallice is cranking out albums.

Love how you've been able to put this together. Love also how you've managed to revisit ideas over the years. The Saints 'Untitled' from Eternally Yours reworked and given life renewed with 'Number 10' (Character Assassination) 'Death To The Howdy Doody Brigade'. One of my faves from that era. Thanks.
@edkuepper4234
@edkuepper4234 4 года назад
thanks Ian, thought you might be interested that both ''Number 10'' and ''Untitled'' both had their start in a song I wrote for the first Saints album also called somewhat confusing ''Untitled'' it was recorded at the time of the first lp but replace on the album by ''No Time''
@ianwhite6034
@ianwhite6034 4 года назад
@@edkuepper4234 Right. Has it appeared anywhere (orig 'Untitled')? 'No Time' of coarse is a great inclusion, though I like the idea of hidden gems as b-sides. Ed, You mentioned a memoir in the 'Live at the bolo set'. Is this something we cam look forward to??
