@@franchin5241 our real Guyanese Chinese food is different and we think it is the best. This one is new to Guyana, new immigrants opened up the restaurant,.
@@wandathornhill1221 all the Chinese food in the Caribbean is Hakka food. Same people who went to Jamaica, T & T, Cuba and Guyana. Cooking method the same except for some additional spices found in each territory.
When he said Trini Chinese food she said "careful" ! Lol. He already knows about the Trini Vs Guyanese relationship 😂. Big up Guyana 🇬🇾 that food looks Bess. Love in d house 🇹🇹✌️
Guyanese Chinese is the best in the world the flavors and spices are so mouth watering, Guyana has some of the best chef’s in the world truly amazing and diverse country 🇬🇾 Proud to be Guyanese….
@@arianayoung7537 nahh ,Trinis will argue who have better curry . But real Trinis or anyone in the Caribbean will tell u Guyana have the best Chinese food . That’s not debatable Idc how much Trini pride you have lol
So basically an American in Guyana trying Chinese style Guyana influenced food in Chinese restaurant while listening to Indian songs playing in background to be specific Punjabi songs 🤣 loved the hospitality of Guyanese people and food ... Your reactions are awesome 👍🏻😁
@@amazonwarrior7126 mate you are absolutely wrong or maybe you have wrong information. India doesnt have any national language but Hindi and English are the languages mostly spoken throughout India and official language for gov. Currently according to census of India , India has 122 major languages and 1600 other languages spoken in country but mostly spoken languages are hindi english Tamil Telugu maharashtrian Punjabi gujrati bangla kannada bihari etc from which Hindi and English are the most common one which you can speak in any state and atleast can have an answer. Now coming to South India there are 4 major languages under Dravidian language culture those are Tamil Telugu Malayalam Kannada but also deccani Urdu in Telangana also French and Portugese are there. There are many states and every state have its own language and south indian people prefer to speak in English but I have been to south India many times and everyone understands. They speak Hindi as well not as fluent as a North Indian but they understand what I'm saying or asking and give reply as well.
@@amazonwarrior7126 they don't refuse for anything . I dunno from where or from whom you got this kind of idea about South India but the reality is totally opposite ... They don't refuse for anything but as I said earlier they prefer to talk in their native language or English but every Indian knows Hindi but if a South Indian uses his native language in northern part of India people will not understand anything same goes for a Punjabi if he uses his native language in south India people are not going to understand anything so best way to tackle these kind of situation is to use a language which is majorly speaking throughout the country ie Hindi and English. I'm a hotelier and can assure you that your perspective over South Indians are totally wrong and maybe you just have wrong information.
This is how Guyanese cultures are, every ethnic heritage are important , well embraced and inclusive. The indians ( Indo Guyanese) are the descendants of India and still retain some of their cultures of music, spices and religions and clothing. The Africans (Afro Guyanese)here in Guyana are also the same but they are more westernized with their music and foods. Chinese are significant as well as British and European
Wish you had the Chinese food I grew up on it’s simple but when you think about Guyanese Chinese food that’s what I expected to see..wish she took you to one of the more local or “regular” restaurants…it would’ve been a simple fried rice with fried chicken and what we call red meat but it’s so so good! I hope you tried it while there!
I ate at this chinese restaurant several times when visiting Georgetown, amazing food and atmosphere. I recommend David also try the famous Indian restaurant in Guyana, awesome food! Much love from Suriname 🇸🇷🇸🇷🍹
The restaurant is just awesome..chefs soo..versatile.....and Guyaneses chinese looks like the best..really...the pineapple with sihgapore noodles and esp the fish actualky all the foods looked sooo...good. And last but not least Stacy is such a nice host. Loved this video,Thanks David..Safe travels
Stacey just convinced me. Its on the list to visit. Singapore Noodles 💯 Stir fried Beef 💯 Paradise Fried Rice 💯 Pinecone Fish 💯 Peking duck 💯 Peking duck wrap 💯. New Thriving here i come 🤩😋😋😎
David what a beautiful spectacular dining area in that restaurant oh it's like a dream in the variety of food offered to you both I have no words enjoy peace ☮️🇺🇸
Love the preparation and display job well done by the Chinese Chef they are the best in Guyana second to none David you enjoyed all you ate also your friend thanks for sharing my friend ❣️
Not to be biased or anything but I had Trini Chinese and Guyanese Chinese in Queens NY. By far, the Guyanese Chinese had the best flavor. BTW, There's also a New Thriving in Queens NY, not as nice as the one in Guyana, but the food is delicious. I do have to say, Trini makes the best roti/dhal puri..
Trini Chinese food in NY could never be compared to Chinese food in Trinidad, different ingredients. Also David had Chinese takeaway in Trinidad as opposed to a restaurant on par as to where he is dining at in Guyana. Chalk and cheese as they would say.
Now yall would tell me is a fight start again with Trini an Guyana.....first is curry chicken an chicken curry....now is who have the best Chinese......really yall stop it an let's move on....
Enjoying all the videos of my beautiful country so happy you had a great time 🇬🇾🇬🇾 and we do have the best Chinese in the caribben she wasn't lying 😉🤗😂
There are better chinese restaurents than New Thriving in Guyana. The "corner shop" restaurants cook tastier foods, although the menu is not so wide, and the prices are very affordable. Imo
Thank you David , stacy and Team for taking us behind the scenes in this fabulous Chinese /Cantonese New Thriving restaurant. The chiefs are versatile, well organised, and Wow, those colourful mouth watering foods have certainly hit my palette let alone indulging. Guyanese Chinese have been from the beginning of time in Guyana and I believe they are linked to the First people or indigenous people called the Amerindians who all have similar sauses and spices of the chinese from China. But on the whole, all Guyanese can relate to all ETHNICITIES here and have learnt culture, language , foods, and music which makes Guyanese as amazing people of such rich diversed communities. The pineapple style foods look fantastic and I will definitely try that. If you suffers digestive problems, just eat pineapples and you will get an instant soothing of your stomach and pineapple drinks are healthy with meals. Love sweet and sour chicken. Lovely to see you David and Stacy together in these series. You gel well and BLESSED to enjoy world cuisines. ❤😁🙏👏
What a great video!!!!!All the food looked STUNNING!!!!,not to mention how BEAUTIFUL the restaurant is!!!!!!A PHENOMENAL video ,and now tonight I'm ordering Chinese food lol!!!!!!LOVE U DAVID 👍😍😘🤩😜✌🤗❤💕💙🥰I HAD TO ADD THAT STACY IS AWESOME SHE IS VERY CHEERFUL AND HAPPY ,JUST A GENUINELY GREAT PERSON AND SHE BRINGS HER APPETITE I LOVE IT!!!!!
David, just the fact that you are in my home country is so amazing, Guyanese Chinese food is the best in the world and those professional chefs who takes pride in their creation is so impressive ,that pineapple style fried rice look fantastic everything looks so yummy, enjoy and travel safe, Best wishes from Winnipeg Canada🍛🍷
Finally David finally.....been waiting so long for these videos.....Guyanese Chinese the best.....thank you for visiting our beautiful country.....hope you enjoyed our true Guyanese hospitality.....love from Guyana 🇬🇾
@@donnalobiondo7850 We have other foods too, that's not our authentic Guyanese Chinese restaurant they went to, but we do have them and they took him to their restaurant. We are a nation of many cultures including Chinese, Portuguese, Indian, English, African, and Amerindians, so it's a melting pot of fusion foods.
In Guyana, as a little girl we used to have Chinese food as a treat. It was only on Sundays. Living in England for over 50 years, Chinese food is still my favourite. My Chinese friend over here usually buys me noodles and spices from China Town.
Oh my goodness u r here I mean u was am so happy thank you for coming I hope u had a great stay n u enjoyed d food n sights seeing thank u again plz keep visiting our wonderful country it's a pleasure having u here
Good morning David: First of all, I hope everything is well concerning hurricane Ian. Been watching the news and it already looks horrible but I don't think it would hit Miami because it veered off to the west and heading north but the outer bands will do damage to the area. So prayers are with you all. Sorry I missed the 'live' yesterday but I watched the replay. Very generous of you to give away the rings.Too bad you don't ship outside of the US. Now for today's video. David, it's a good thing you don't have hair because that flame would have burnt it off. Do you have any eyebrows left? Lol. I have a bone to pick with Stacy. Stacy, I have eaten Guyanese Chinese food here in Toronto and it is good but Trini is still the best in my book. I am glad that David chose NOT to choose which is better between Trinidad and Guyana Chinese food. Very diplomatic of him. Thanks David. That restaurant is just gorgeous and very inviting. Reminds me of Hong Kong of long ago but I don't know what it's like now since it went back to China. The food itself, OMG, looks so tempting and mouth-watering. Love what he did with the eggplant: gave me an idea. That's the one problem with Singapore noodles: it's endless. LoL. What's missing is some wontons. And for anyone who wants get that kind of result, always dredge the chicken and shrimp in CORNSTARCH. It seals in the juices and cook fast. My two favorite foods: Chinese and Indian. So David, another good one. I hope you give us a little history and culture and customs of Guyana sometime during your visit there. Good viewing. Looking forward to tomorrow's episode and I hope to catch you live today. In the meantime, prayers for everyone. Stay safe and may God bless you and your family and the people of Florida.🙏🙏🙏🕊️🇹🇹🇨🇦
Hi Judy, I am in Toronto and you have to know which Guyanese Chinese restaurant to go to. Not all are the same. There are many in Scarborough, some good and some not so good. Some have cooks from China and not a Guyanese Chinese cook, and there is a difference in taste. You will only get the true taste from a Guyanese Chinese cook. It is simply the best taste that you will experience if you find one.
@@wandathornhill1221 hi Wanda. There is Asia Hut in Pickering opposite Pickering town center and there is Golden Star near Weston and Finch area. So yeah, Guyanese Chinese food is the best here. Problem is that all of the Trinidad restaurants here are all Indian. No Chinese. So if I were in Trinidad, I would say that Trinidad Chinese food is the best , although it's all Hakka. So I will give the Guyanese credit for their Chinese food here. Thanks for the info. I am in downtown Toronto. I hope you are having a great day. Thanks again. Maybe we will chat again in the comments section here.🇹🇹🇨🇦
@@amazonwarrior7126 I left Guyana almost 40 years ago, so much has changed since then. I went back 3 times, last time was 2010 and I didn’t have a good experience so it broke my mind from going again.
Chinese food one of my faves along with Korean food YUMMMMMMMM now i am hungry and just getting going for the day lol. Very nice restaurant :) HAHAAH the pan fire. you crack me up haha watch out good thing no hair or you could have been sizzled.. All that food I love and my mouth is watering . Paradise Rice Sweet sour Chicken Curl eggplant love those. Just amazing food right there. Pine cone fish looks amazing to . That sauce yum . Beef oh yes . I'm down lets go eat more!! NP I will join sits right down . This is insane lol. Can you tell you made me hungry? Dumplings Duck. bring it. You really outdid yourself on this video. Just delish!!! Amazing chef . Glad you all enjoyed it. Great video!! ♥
This video didn't do justice to the beauty of that restaurant. Their food are ok and affordable. Alot on their menu too. If in Guyana a must place to visit.
Confirming that the food is 100% authentic Cantonese food. Even the banquet hall looks just like Jing Fong in Manhattan's Chinatown (one of the staples for over 30 years.)
It's nice you're showcasing the high end restaurants but you should also go to the comer Chinese shops that serve in paper bags. That's the working man mode which we love. Tear that paper bag and just eat. Having eaten here many times (as had visitors whom I've stayed with the hotel above) the resturant is for more westernised palates and glamourised. Lim Kam was one of my favourites in NA. After work, I would take my daughter there. She was 3 years and she would always say, 'I want the red pork' . 😂. Even the vegetarian was 🤤🤤🤤.
The Guyanese culture is heavily influenced by Indian and African culture (due to our early and sad slave history like most of the Caribbean). You will hear Indian music everywhere in Guyana. We are truly a melting pot of different cultures co existing and intermingling peacefully.
@@rakeshdeka3497 I'm not saying Indians enslaved our people. Im saying Indians were brought to Guyana as slaves (indentured labourers) which is why Indian culture plays a rich part of our culture today.
