Great video i was surprised 20 Strong didnt make someones list. I was worried about ticket to ride moving to legacy so i passed may have to double back. My top 10 this year are 10 Lords of Ragnrock 9 Cobra Kai 8 Descent act 2, 7 Apiary, 6 Distilled, 5 Earth, 4 Castles of Burgundy deluxe, 3 Heat 2 Isofarian Guard, and 1 Expeditions.

My favorite games are Thunder Road, Earth, Apiary, Fit to Print, Sky Team, Life of the Amazonia and Legacy of Yu, but I know I am going to love Darwin's Journey, Ticket to Ride, Raising Robots and The White Castle when I finally get them off the shelf.
Great list! I love Earth!!! I have but have not played Raising Robots, White Castle, and Last Light. I can’t wait to try them. I have Kutna Hora and Unconscious Mind on order, so fingers crossed.
Gr8 list. Own/play both Earth & Barcelona. I agree that Barcelona is a better play. Earth is better than Ark Nova. Mostly because of the scoring track in Ark Nova. Again, thanks for helping decide on the next game.

Havent had a chance to play any of these yet, but most of the games that are expansions or versions of them (Sagrada, Scythe, Arnak,) i have played and loved. Ive heard great things about Earth too...woll need to pick it up
For me, it is Revive, Distilled and Daybreak for coop game as top this year i have enjoyed the most. But i loved your picks a lot because it's not mostly the mainstream and something you mentioned will expand my collection very soon :)

My top 2023 games that I have played so far: Earth Fuse Countdown A bunch of expansions 😁 And as a reimplementation, Castles of Burgundy I really think I’ll enjoy TTR and Sagrada legacy, as well as Expeditions and Raising Robots. World Wonders is high on my wishlist.

I know it hasn’t been as widely available yet, but my most anticipated & favorite game of the year is Fox Experiment! I also really loved Earth, Expeditions, & Sea Salt & Paper.
Great lists! My top three games from this year (no particular order) would be Earth, Distilled & Darwin's Journey. I haven't had a chance to play a lot of the games that came out this year but Barcelona is the one that I know I will love. My tastes are somewhere between Kevin & Jonah :D

My wife and I have really enjoyed Earth as well. It's interesting to see how those common goals affect the end game...some of them are tough to achieve!
Great lists - have unfortunately not played many of them, though. My own favorites of 2023 are: Darwin's Journey, Faraway, Kutna Hora, Jokkmokk, the White Castle, Forest Shuffle and Archeos Society.
Earth was a big miss for us. Traded it away already. Barcelona is definately a big hit. Aurum was surprisingly good. Also, Jonah nailed it with Ark Nova: Maine Worlds.... great expansion.

Sagrada is a house favorite, Really intrigued by Artisans. I love Earth as well. Latest action selection we have played is underwater cities. Great video, and great fun group!
I've only been following tabletop gaming channels for 2 months but backed Return to Dark Tower 3+ years ago and backing Moonrollers & Mycelia this year. Hope to play Apiary, Earthborne Rangers and Scythe/Expeditions (and many others, obvs). I'm like #882.
Fun video and some great games highlighted. A few people have mentioned Kinfire Chronicles, family really wanted to back, but own other campaign games we have not played, so told ourselves no. My families favorite 2023 games list will show we need to say no more often, which are, Tesseract, Trailblazers, Moonrakers Expansions, Illiterati, Race to the Raft, Outrun The Bear, Cora Quest: Keep on Questing, Dreadful Meadows, Almost Innocent, and Ancient Terrible Thungs: Reawakened. Plus a few others. A good year for board games.

I never played a legacy games actually. Well I played My City on BGA, but I think we might have played it too fast, 1 week, to fully appreciated it. I also played Gloomhaven to completion but it's not really a legacy game. I think legacy and/or campaign games can be huge commitment. By default, I tend to gravitate more towards campaign games that I want to immerse myself in the story and/or gameplay. My latest campaign games were mostly picked for the narration (Oathsworn, ISS Vanguard, Stalker) My group and I are currently playing ISS Vanguard and we are having a blast. I'm also solo playing Etherfields and although not as hyped about it as I am with ISS Vanguard, I quite enjoy the puzzle aspect of it. Thanks for the contest and merry Christmas to all of you ;)

So many well chosen games!! I’m so excited to try each of those! My favorite games of the year have been Terraforming Mars: Dice Game, Lost Ruins of Arnak Missing Expedition, Point City, and even though they’re older Turing Machine and Welcome to the Moon!
I still have yet to play Lost Ruins of Arnak: Missing Expedition and Expeditions! But I would like to think they would be my top games for 2023! Maybe there is an 'expeditions' theme I am liking? Haha
I usually steer clear of legacy games. After watching the video, I'll probably break down and buy Sagrada Artisans and Ticket to Ride Legacy of the Old West.
These games will be on my radar. My gaming group has FINALLY moved on from Monopoly! It’s time to step up from Splendor, Sheriff of Nottingham and Dixit which is what we’ve been playing.
This was fun to watch, and I agree with a lot of your picks. Barcelona, Apiary and Wild Tiled West are probably my top 3 games, it's hard to choose..Also Forest Shuffle, Faraway and Planta Nubo are probably in the top 10 as well. I'm curious now about Sagrada Artisans, would be awesome to win it!

I agreed with Will's list the most, although Jonah and Kevin had me with Ticket To Ride. Have not tried that one yet, but the original is my all time favorite. Hard To Get and Aurum look like a blast. A close second to Ticket To Ride is Codenames, so Hard To Get is my next purchase. Thanks for the vids guys! Keep em' coming and Merry Christmas!

In this video, I'd say that I liked Scythe Expedition, Kinfire Chronicles, Mother of Frankenstein and Sagrada Artisans. I haven't played them but after watching I'd really like to try them.
Played "The White Castle" at a TH game night and loved it ... need to grab it. I've already picked up Farshore, which is just a fantastic new base game for Everdell.
Awesome lists guys. Giving me ideas for some new games to try going into 2024. Viticulture, Plunder, and Dune Imperium (and Uprising) have been the most played this year.
First video of yours I have seen, great enthusiasm and I am excited to check out more videos. I think I have only played one game from this year, Star Wars Deckbuilder. But I have played many new games for me and Lost Ruins of Arnak has jumped to one of my favorites. Really hoping to get the newest expansion (I have Expedition Leaders). Also I have the Ark Nova expansion sitting at my FLGS waiting for me to pick it up but it is a drive to get up there and with winter and snow coming to block the mountains between us, don't know if I will any time soon.

I just found you all and don't know how it took me so long! But I definitely am subscribed now! I waited for Barcelona to come out to buy retail and then my local game store sold out, but I'm hoping they get it back in time for my birthday in a week (or maybe I win a copy?) I am halfway through Ticket to Ride and LOVING it but now am that much more motivated to check out Sagrada Artisans since it beat out TTR for #1! Thanks for a great video! This is my first Tantrum video. That i could stand watching through the whole thing. Everyone has they're own charisma and the game choices are so "not DTW". Book of Time, Kutna Hora, and 3 ring Circus so different from what i normally get exposed to. Great video.
Haven't played many of the games that came out this year yet, but Unmatched Adventures is probably my favorite of what I have played though. And I have Ark Nova: Marine Worlds sitting under the tree for Christmas.
I've bought ticket to ride, but it hasn't hit the table yet. Looking forward go playing it! Next year, another legacy game, acquisition Inc 2 will be released. I'm very excited for it!
I'm going to go broke trying to acquire all the games that piqued my interest! I am a senior citizen who is relatively new to gaming and I am especially attracted to the art and themes. Some of my favorites didn't make it to your list. My number one is The Life of Amazonia - I love meeples. Cosmoctopus was unexpected fun. Leaf was gorgeous and my game group was totally engaged. I love legacy games above all else and was glad to hear about Sagrada. Ticket to Ride is on my list to play on Legacy Mondays with my group - you reinforced my choice. Table presence is also a big one for me. I generally play with 30 and 40 somethings but like to teach senior citizens and get them engaged in something other than card games. Love your videos! I can't wait to find The Clocks of Hickory Docks - I had not heard of it and it ticks all my boxes. Was it actually released yet?
My favorite from 2023 is The White Castle. I got to play half a game of Apiary and enjoyed it and have Barcelona and Nucleum on my to play pile. Thanks for sharing your favorites from this year!

I really enjoyed watching your Top 10. I'm a board gamer from way back, but have only just restarting playing again in the past few years. Wingspan is our current favourite, so I am thankful for your reviews of these newer games. I've added quite a few of them to my list.
