Basically playing Call of Duty in gw2 tbh.
So tomorrow, believe it or not, this spec is getting buffed for no reason and not some minor buff, like an enormous ass buff, because why not give Soulbeast 2 pets again because it was so weak with only one pet.
Anyways, if this blows up like my last Soulbeast video did expect a few idiots in the comments trying to claim that this build cant sustain because if you get hit you actually get punished, and therefore the damage is fine. Yeah, this build will not hold your hand as much as other Soulbeast builds and may not work too well in the hands of a total beginner but I would still recommend ignoring them because if played right, this build has more than enough ways to negate damage ( lots of stealth, block, evades, barrier, limited time high damage reduction, and of course proper movement) and balance should not be made around the average player but rather around the best players and chances are they are not one of the 5 good ranger players that still play WvW (neither am I at the moment).
Build: gw2skills.net/editor/?POgAMFlR...
UPDATE Since this video is coming out much later than originally anticipated, after the October 4th patch (assuming all the changes are the same as the preview), I would recommend...
- Running Eternal bond trait in Soulbeast
- Perhaps swapping Vicious Quarry to Quickdraw since we are going to be losing a bit of damage for Eternal Bond anyways, so might as well grab a significant boost to your sustain with Quickdraw (might want to run more crit chance if so, maximum of 70% while on Longbow while merged (any more and you will be above 100% crit chance at times, which is a waste).
- Taking Siamoth (boons or stealth, cc (also leap so could be useful to use in smokescale's smoke field), high burst, 100% strike damage reduction for 4 seconds (which also stunbreaks and removes movement impairments)), as your second pet. Other solid options for your second pet include Pig, Owl, White Tiger, Phoenix, Jaracanda, Siege Turtle, Black Bear, Brown Bear, and Rock Gazelle. To be clear I would recommend NOT replacing Smokescale with any of these other pets.
I will be playing a LOT more ranger than I have been after patch drops and probably more Chrono although I had been playing a ton of Chrono.
