Today's video is a short one about what some think is the very first game for the IBM PC (although I can't be sure about that). Donkey.bas was written by Bill Gates and Neil Konzen for the sample disk that came with the IBM PC and was intended to show what the BASIC interpreter could do on the machine.

I was looking for some gameplay of Donkey.bas for inspiration for a demo version of my upcoming HTML5 Engine and found your video. I also started on GWBasic. I subscribed to your channel, I will be looking at your content!

I like how they simulate the faster speed by changing the line in the road - kind of a nice simple gfx cheat .

It is quite effective, although the car seems to be accelerating and slowing down a bunch!
