I used to absolutely LOVE this song back in the day. When this song was released back in 1986 I was a senior in college. I graduated from college the very next year and this was one of the songs that I absolutely LOVED to listen to in myt dorm and once I returned home. Gwen Guthrie was SO underrated and she definitely passed away before her time.
@@angel91485I can forget them . I will be totally honest. Gwen Guthrie's version was the VERY BEST VERSION. She had an amazing voice. Absolutely the BEST. *REST in GOD'S LOVE, QUEEN GWEN ? (2024)🌹?
What a beautiful, classy talented lady. We lost her far too soon. Really would have liked to see her career progress for many, many more years. What a voice.
Gwen's voice is drenched in honey - kissed by the sun's first rays of light - every time you sang you filled the world with happiness - still smiling from all the memories Gwen - who can blame the almighty for calling you home?
thank you Miss Gwen Guthrie . for your contribution to the world of music , we will remember you , as one of the great musicians , and may your soul guide ," Close to you to the all mighty God , R.I.P ,....
@Zain Khan Realtor .... Thanks for the history lesson...didn't know of Richard doing it... I do remember Dionne doing it well... the Carpenters very well also...But Gwen made it funky and danceable!!
@Zain Khan Realtor ..... Yes, her complete GOOD TO GO LOVER lp was off the chain!!! She colab, did backup and wrote for well known artist...she was amazing and so missed is Gwen.💔🙏

No question about it......my favourite Gwen Gutherie song. Gwen left us too soon. Her voice is so soothing. This joint is always on my R & B playlist. Decidedly so. RIP, Ms. Gutherie.
I finally found it after such a long search. I always hear this over the radio but never being able to know the artist. This is probably one of the best rendition of this song. It gave the original a more upbeat and soulful rhythm. I really love it. Rest in Peace Ms. Gwen Guthrie, thank you for the music!
I LOVE THIS LADY AND HER RENDITION OF THIS GREAT SONG. KNOCKS ME OUT. I LISTEN OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. NEVER WILL I GET ENOUGH OF THIS SONG. FOR ME IT IS A MASTERPIECE.

This song has been playing in my head this whole week, and it's the first time I see this video. Have to say, Gwen Guthrie oozed sex appeal and she didn't have to show an inch of skin. I absolutely love it!
Memories. When black people were nothing but classy in videos and there were no 'video girls' clogging up the screen and taking the attention from the person with the actual talent! I like the Carpenters version but I love this as I think it's an excellent interpretation of the original. Gwen is sorely missed (RIP).
WOW!!! This is extremely awesome! I have been looking for this cut for decades! This version was used in one of the TV commercials (Close-Up Toothpaste, I believe)... and I didn't know that it was Gwen Guthrie who rendered this fantastic version of the popular song. Thanks so much for uploading!!!
