A NewsChannel 5 investigation discovered that Shamblin's last will and testament - involving an estate potentially worth millions of dollars - is reviving old questions about her ministry -- and her money.
I just saw this woman's photo for the first time and my jaw literally dropped at her appearance. That has never happened to me before. Anyone who would be sucked in by someone who looks so crazy . . . is crazy.
I was apart of this when it was a weight loss program but I got out …my sister stayed and it has been a struggle to have a relationship with her. My prayers are my sister wakes up and gets out one day.
Her saying, "If you cling to your money..." while wearing pearls and what looks like a pricy dress is beyond laughable, how do people not see right through people like this.
So right. After the flamboyance of Tammy Faye and Jimmy in the 80's, how can this "look" not be noticed. Huge hair opulant clothes jewels surroundings. Red flags everywhere.
I remember how popular her book was in the many years ago. She even made an appearance on Oprah at the time. I read the book. She seemed relatively normal back then. Years ago people speculated it was a cult.
Agreed 10000000000%%%%%% He made sense for me when I was searching but as soon as I learnt the truth of God through Christ, the scales dropped from my eyes. My spirit had begun rejecting him anyway
Jesus did not Preach in a large Building with Gold, Silver and Gemstones. And asking his followers for money. Giving was from the heart and many forms, that were not money in his days.
I never heard of her until the plane crash. So sad that so many people had no discernment regarding her "ministry". These false prophets are all around us taking in millions every year. It's not our place to judge but I'm glad it's not me.
Bev Hart, how wonderful, she reaped what she sowed. She'll spend eternity in hell for lying and stealing, leading many souls to hell. Jesus will say 'depart from me, you worker of iniquity; I never knew you'. No minister should ever live in mansions or drive Jags, Bentley's and have their own private planes, while preaching greed and fleecing her flock of their money. She's disgusting, along with all the rest like the Osteens, Joyce Meyer, Creflow Dollar, Kenneth Copeland, I can't even remember them all, there are so many false prophets.
I have been a Christian for 61 years. I have heard every man of God preach, read all the classic Christian writings, been to so many seminars and conferences, etc ... I have always prayed for God to protect me from false prophets. I have never heard of her.
That’s why today I’m now a atheist. As a former ex Jehovah’s Witness, that organization is a dangerous, deadly, and harmful cult. Run by 8 leaders within and worth billions and having around 8.5 million members, they are destroying families, punishing by shunning ones who just wanna leave peacefully or have been major victims of abuse. Physical and mental abuse is huge within the organization. But it’s the child sex abuse cases and not phoning up the authorities to report these criminal sex abusers so as not to bring reproach on this cult and their so called God they call Jehovah. Their policies work against victims of child sexual abuse which leads to the victims being ostracized and blamed for being raped which has forced many of the victims to leave the church and then by doing so their families and friendships have been cut away from them and they become a shunned victim. Sadly being alienated from everyone they ever knew, many fall into deep depression and eventually commit suicide. This the power this cult has on families and victims of abuse. Cults are evil, dangerous, financially benefit a few at the top. There are some incredible documentaries about the JW’s here on RU-vid. I encourage anyone who wants to educate themselves on this specific cult look up here on RU-vid and do a search for “Jehovah’s Witnesses - The Four corners”. It paints the harm and dangers the cult possesses.
Ironic how she says don’t hold onto your money give it away and you will get it back. But she held onto hers and invested in numerous properties and did not leave one cent to the church she loved so much and the people . She fooled all of us but trust she is answering to god himself now.
I mean it says in the Bible you're supposed to give 10% of your earnings your tithes to the church. If you are a member of a church you should be willing to do that if not don't be a member of a church.
@@OS-kg9kt it states it in the Bible everyone knows this unless you're a hoodlum who wasn't raised in church you can find the chapter and verse yourself it's not my job to educate you.. educate yourself please.
@@aprilrawls5162 No, it doesn't! The 10% tithe for Christians is completely unbiblical. Show me one verse in the New Testament that says it is. The tithe was only for the levitical class and it was NEVER money.
@@annehedonia156 Payment of tithe is obligatory to Christian faithful. An Old testament commandment, it is made popular by Malachi 3: 10 where Christians are required to give 10% of their income to God through the priest. Payment of tithe is obligatory toward Christian faithful. As it is stated in the Bible. Do you actually own one? Since you obviously don't read. If you're going to be a know-it-all then I need you to know it all.
How ironic. Is it a coincidence, I think it was karma, she took that ministry down and several of its leaders along with all the assets. Such stupid people to get all her money to this dumb ass
@@2010hotmale2010 No such thing as Karma. Bad things happen to good people all the time and good things happen to bad people. As the Bible says, it rains on the righteous and unrighteous. The only guarantee is judgement for those who reject Christ and refuse to turn from sinning (called repenting). We break God's laws when we sin, so we pay the price. Christ paid that price for us, but if you reject Christ you reject his payment on our behalf. Thus you will pay for your crimes against God in the lake of fire. Gwen rejected Christ and stands before the throne of judgement. Have you repented from doing evil and accepted Christ's sacrifice?
On the flip side of this discussion, I personally felt richly blessed to travel the Weigh Down road with Gwen. Taking her courses with women who soon became my lifelong friends allowed me, for the first time in my life, to purposefully lose the weight that was, literally, weighing me down. THEN, she put a lot of time and effort in to giving us a truly spiritual way to lose the weight and to listen to God in everything. I recently came across my Weigh Down tapes and notebooks, and I believe she was truly in tune with our God back then. Since that was approximately 24 years ago, I can only speculate that the world's temptations crept in on her little by little after that time. I pray that she recognized her fall away from grace into greed and that she was able to repent before she met her untimely end.
Yep, plus nixing the old husband for a new one made it clear she wasn't of the bible right there, what gall to have such a lavish expensive wedding wearing white. All that with the hair & makeup & properties tells what she was about. SICK!!
You hit it right on the head! I too took note of that, and out of her own mouth a mouth that may be one of the few times she actually spoke truth! And then shortly thereafter... That treasure which she had been storing up on Earth by any means necessary has NO benefit to her & her cohorts any longer cause she/they literally dropped right out of the sky. Did I hear someone say "GOD CANNOT BE MOCKED" 😶Poetic Justice in some way🤔
@@denitatownes2813 God actually had me write the words God Will NOT be Mocked kn the sand just today..To address the hypocrisy of those connected to the world bank..This just solidifies God's . HOLY Word.
She didn't "pass" she was "morsilized" by a blizzard of shattered aircraft fragments. Her husband paid for his ticket to fly that complex bird, and his passengers paid for his arrogant assumption that money can substitute for training.
So glad for the patience, tenacity and wisdom of PHIL WILLIAMS for KNOWING there was a hell of a story to be told!! The truth always comes out, even if it takes awhile! Great job on the whole story!!!
If your pastor, preacher, deacon or religious leader lives in excessive luxury (and they came from NOTHING), RUN from that institution towards a genuine house of worship. Her, and others who take advantage of others, make me sick!
Have a really good look at the Catholic church, the Vatican's st olen hoards of religious and spiritual artifacts of all other religions. The amount of property they greedy dragons sitting on mounds of stolen gold. Not to mention the 1.4 to 6 million dollars of usa tax dollars in ppp money they got from pandemic funds having never paidĺ a cent of tax money. And it just happens to be the same amount paid to lawyers and child sex abuse claimants. Absolutely revolting.
OK, how can I say this without sounding cruel? I was born and raised as a Baptist but I also grew up in a spiritual family . With that said though I've never really strayed far away from the church . I'm only 34 years old and to be honest with you I've never heard of her until a few days ago and when I watched a very good documentary about her my jaw dropped! When you don't do things for the greater good of your congregation and community you can't expect to reap a good reward ! With all due respect Gwen allowed fame and greed to consume her and in my opinion she lost sight of what was important and that was doing the work of God . It's sad she lost her life as well as the other people that were with her but she couldn't have thought that God was gonna allow her to enjoy the riches she gained from deceiving so many people . And I feel that the church staff members who died with her should have held her accountable more for her deceit. On the flip side of things though we have to ask ourselves how could they have held her accountable when they were caught up in glamour and false teachings pretty much brainwashed? This is a prime example of why we should all that believe in the word of God learn and discern the Word for ourselves. Our walk with God is supposed to be personal so you don't always need the church to get a solid relationship with God. The foolishness that Gwen founded her empire on is the reason why so many people are walking away from the church and Christianity as a whole. The fact that she left nothing to the church speaks volumes about her compassion and intentions together!
Miss Taylor there are people everyday who fall for scams. I work for a credit card company and I see fraud every day. There are so many pastors who worship money more than God. Look at the ones who brag about their wealth ie they talk about how large their house is, number of jets or type of jets etc.
Remember how gullible they can be. This is their story: God sent himself down to earth to become his own son to sacrifice himself to himself just to convince himself to forgive us?
@Goth- Inner Obi-Wan- Bosch you apparently have chosen to overlook not only accomplished Bible Scholars the world over, but also the population of educated people who just want to learn more. Depending on what you’re looking for, there’s a wealth of information in the Bible.
No, they won't. If they were this delusional going in, they'll never let go of that delusion. I refer to this as desperation stupidity, desperate to believe in some sort of religious fantasy that they can buy their way into.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God... especially if you do not know Him while claiming to represent him. God have mercy on us all lest we act foolishly... For there but for the grace of God go I. 😒
how do people fall for Joel Osteen!? or any televangelist for that matter. Money, greed, exploitation...Its staring everyone in the face, it's not even a lie at a certain point, it's just willful ignorance, the followers will believe anything.
@@junejunejuniejune most of those people are reaching for God but are biblically illiterate. They fall for the feel good instead of seeking a personal relationship with Christ. Following Christ doesn’t mean getting money or having the easy life as these televangelist preach. In fact the Bible teaches that you will face trials and hard times if your following him.
@@junejunejuniejune people fall for these phony preachers and cult churches because these churches and their leaders are masters at manipulation and know exactly what to do and what to say to lure people in..they feed on the human desire to have an inner purpose and to be accepted by others. These churches fall all over themselves to recruit people who are down on their luck or are lonely or are socially isolated and they build up these recruits with fake concern and friendship and then start trying to get their money. These people come to be dependent on these churches as crutches against alienation and bad luck and will do anything or give any amount of money the church demands in return for continued acceptance as a part of something they think they can no longer live without and these churches brainwash these people into thinking that this is what god demands and if they don’t go along with the demands, then they’re shamed into believing god doesn’t love them/they’re going to hell etc etc. It’s said that anyone could be lured into a cult, but I think most people who do are ones that are just lost inside, lonely and searching for anything that makes them feel whole and gives purpose. If one already feels purposeful and fulfilled then they won’t be so easily fooled by a church/preacher con.
Stop talking about Hollywood. This is on her and other cult leaders. You people love to blame everything on Hollywood. Place the the blame on who is to blame, the fake christians
I've always been baffled that anyone falls for these people !It's so disgusting how they prey on elderly people to swindle every cent out of them .I see her daughter is walking in mom's foot steps with the shady behavior.
The daughter said her mother had spent all of their inheritance to the church, following in her Mom’s footsteps. Nothing was left to the church in her will. Their followers have lost loads of money.
@@judyfain3160 Followers. I hate that word so much. Social media has made that word so annoying to me. We should only be following Jesus. But that too much like right these days.
I wonder how that conversation went with her and our most high God- our KING OF KING & LORD OF LORDS when she had to look him in the eye and he didn't say well done good and faithful servant. , so sad when people for some reason have such a large platform and could do so much for the kingdom but their ego is so large and gets in the way......sad to say this doesn't end well for her. We only get one chance to do the right thing!
She actually had the gaw to say" most of the world has abandoned true religion and are now converts into building up their own pockets, yet god is a god of justice and he will not be bought" Dies two weeks later.
Check out the video on her by Dan Gryder. Apparently she consulted with the Nashville Church of Scientology on the way to soak the rubes for as much $$$ as humanly possible.
Gwen the Grifter didn't leave a dime to her church and instead left all the millions she bilked out of her flock to her two children. And of course, she paid not a dime of taxes. Churches should have to pay taxes.
I agree to a point. Mega churches should pay taxes. Any church bring in over 2,000,000 a year should have to start paying taxes on everything not used in the ministry. Any of the finances that go to a person employeed by the church including the pastor themselves should be taxed like all other employees and anything not directly going to care for the property or charity/church missions should be taxed. Churches should be able to not be taxed. For only church money. Just cause it was donated to the church don't mean they are going to use it for the church. So if not then tax it like any other money making company.
Minor point, the “Church’s money” is not taxable. The money SHE RECEIVED is taxable, taxes were paid. A pastor is, as far as the IRS is concerned, an employee like any other.
@@FloridaKatLady totally agree... my mother is a jehovah witness. That church is so rich they fleece their believers and they have court cases all over the world for protecting pedophiles... yet they claim charity status and pay almost no taxes anywhere in the world. The leaders live in luxury houses... its honestly just a huge con.
Ezekiel is of the same opinion as lsaiah. He says: “Woe to the pastors who feed themselves instead of their flocks. Shouldn’t pastors feed the sheep? You eat the best food and wear the finest clothes, but you let your flocks starve.” (Ezekiel 34:2-3). This is so typical of these types.
I got scathing remark concerning her from a guy who told me it takes money to spread the gospel he said poor people dont get that. I told him oh yes they do they give sacrificially but stories like this can cause the kingdom to lose credibility and dont minister to poor and needy
She said that does not MOCK, but what she was doing was mocked God by her the way she leads these sheep to God. WAKE UP PEOPLEMANY CHURCHES ARE DOING THE SAME THING.
Isn't that the truth? Where were the men in the congregation who should be leaders? All I can guess is that it was full of a bunch of people who really weren't thinking. I can't believe either that anyone would take someone like that seriously. Just by how she looked. then, start examining her teachings on divorce/remarriage and then seeing what she did - with a church wedding in her own church. Just wow. When I heard of the crash, I immediately thought, "God is not mocked."
People are gullible even people you wouldn't think gullible gullible people are looking for something and they don't know what it is they just know that this person has what I'm looking for it's just seeking their seeking spirituality in different ways is close to God if you don't know the way then you don't know but all you have to do folks ask that's good you don't need a church get to God but if that's your Avenue that's fine but ask God talk to him like you talked to your friend talk to him he'll listen
How do so many people get sucked into churches that tell you to give up everything to them. I bet not one homeless person or family ever had a nice meal prepared or slept warm & safe under that churches roof! God will destroy the evil and especially the one's hiding behind him with ill intentions.
These types of people make me sick. They pray on weak people. They say 90% of people are followers, 10% are leaders. Unfortunately, it’s the 90% that think they need another person to tell them what to do, what to think and how to live. Those are the weak followers that are the victims of these carpetbagger’s.
@@cici79 roughly speaking, irony is when opposites occur at the same time. coincidence is when similarities occur at the same time. the fact she was proven to be lying and running a sham and also having sham in her last name is a coincidence because that’s not likely. people run sham operations every day and 99.9999999% don’t have the last name sham. coincidence doesn’t only mean by accident. it’s root word is coincide which means: 1. occur at or during the same time. 2. correspond in nature; tally. 3. correspond in position; meet or intersect. just because something is destined, doesn’t mean it isn’t a coincidence which can simply be a “correspondence in nature or in time of occurrence.”
I would love to see the congregation’s reaction when they learn she left her “beloved” church absolutely nothing of the money they gave to help her become rich,
yeah..now she is in pieces, mostly eaten by the fish. Her kids get to have a nice estate. Is there a death tax in these properties, she registered in a trust ? Would be nice to give some of that money back to the state......
That wedding was a produced stage show in a church where all eyes could be on her. It seemed to go on and on that way with her videos filmed in her mansions. It was all about exalting her and her "perfect" life. And the thinner and less healthy she looked the more macabre it all began to look on camera. Watching her makes me feel queasy and uncomfortable. The word "decay" goes through my head when I see her videos. I don't think she started out this way but something warped in her along the way and it is like her mind, body and spirit began to rot. I know that is a strong assessment but her whole vibe is just that unsettling to me.
I don’t even know how so many people could even take her seriously let alone give her their money. Scriptures say a fool and his money are soon parted.
If you cling your money you’re gonna lose it, if you give it up you’ll find it again ? But she can cling to your money, right ? Why do people fall for this shit ?
It surprises me to no end….how people are soooo gullible!!! I am not the smartest tool in the shed, but you must be really something to finesse one cent out of me!!! That blood on the cross was for our sins. All you have to do is ask forgiveness Repent and ask Him into your heart/life. From then on it is secured and it didn't cost you anything ...but Jesus...it cost Him His life which He chose to give because you are His child. There is no one who would die for you but Him!
Her whole Ministry was about her!! She conned so many people. Abused people and children. The fact that she left nothing to her church and followers shouldn’t surprise ANYONE!! She was greedy and evil. He wasn’t much better. Karma took them down.
Why is it, whenever someone is saying: Acquiring wealth is bad. Give up your wealth, you will find it again. Don’t be greedy… they are the greedy ones acquiring wealth? To be fair, I don’t blame Gwen for being paid well for her work. She is entitled to that. My problem is with her hypocrisy.
I freely admit I'm not religious, but one does have to wonder about this one. The plane crash not only took her out, but the entire upper echelon of her inner circle who ran this con game. Hmmm . . .
Sad on so many levels. I always think about the members and what they needed on a day to day basis? I belonged to a church where the members including me gave and some could not pay rent. Thank "GOD" I was only there 6 years, some had been there since very young. I wonder how people that use others this way sleep at night! If you say anything about the workings then you are ridiculed. Why didn't she build homes or apartments for people. My opinion is it's sad so so sad.
She probably didn’t have a second to repent before that crash. All these scammers in the pulpit collecting peoples hard earned money in the name of God yet they’re not doing God’s work with it. Accumulating wealth for themselves

I saw the movie. It’s scary. Worse the daughter is now in charge. 😮 these people had horrible rules for members & wanted them to punish their kids. Harsh punishments. Documentary is crazy! Her daughter is scary. They also hated overweight parishoners. She left her first husband for the loser she married, yet didn’t let others in her church divorce. Guess God had the last laugh.
This is the one reason I pray at home and I can believe in GOD at home and also read my Bible at home!!! It doesn’t cost me anything but time and I have a little bit more extra of that at the moment and if I didn’t I didn’t lose anything!!! AMEN
