GWR loco 4144 Large Prairie on its first day at the Chinnor Railway! - 19/3/23

The gorgeous train that is the GWR 4144 steam loco starts its adventurous career along the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway, on hire from the Didcot Railway Centre. The locomotive is part of a family of steam trains called "Large Prairie".
This is its first operational day, providing services along the really scenic route between Chinnor and Princes Risborough, going past the Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire countryside.
Here is the train arriving and departing Princes Risborough station for the final time today (Sunday 19th March 2023) - services are weekly, so it'll be back next week!

Thank you! Yeah she's brilliant and I also heard she was recently repainted in this GWR livery.

@@EyeAitch nice! Last time I saw her she was in a similar livery but looked quite faded - great to see she’s been spruced up for the last couple of years of her boiler ticket

@@EyeAitch yep - she gets about quite a bit - been the K&ESR for the last couple of years (returning to didcot for a couple of events) - though she does best out on loan - brings in valuable cash to Didcot for their shed full of locos awaiting overhaul and also let’s her get some solid running in rather than just operating the Didcot demonstration lines which can be catered for best by Trojan and King George, the smaller locos on steam says. She’s a good fit for the C&PRR in my opinion.
