You definitely should've upgraded that clutch and variator. Also that starter motor while you had that engine outta the harness. Gonna have to do that down the road and that's time wasted now. Cool to see someone that's upgrading these type of buggy's. I love my green trailmaster xrx 150. You should look into the chinese EFI systems. Best $300 spent on mine. Takes some tuning with software but it's absolutely worth it because it does away with carb re jets. Good luck on your journey, these are hella fun when they're dialed in!

my brother recently bought the same go kart with those same issues burned oil smoked like crazy I convinced him to buy a top end kit for it and then starter clutch went out so it was time for a rebuild just got done putting it back together today runs great we'll see how long before it breaks down again

Man I remember when I had a hammerhead. I blew up the gy6 engine about 3 times during the summer, it was so much fun drifting it and driving trails and jumping stuff. The gy6 oil cooled 150cc engine was anything but reliable. The carburetor would clog up with gunk and the oil would leak. I still have a frame, but in not sure if I wanna mess around with it rn bc im building a vw baja bug and im only 17 and only work during the summer.

I think some real science needs to be put into that 10 mm mystery when I go buy me a new one I have to get two or three cuz I know what's going to happen

Them dang 10 mm that happens to me all the time too. Great vid though Been wanting to see more go cart stuff. You probably could've made a predator 212 work but good to see you useing some what of a origanal motor. Thanks for the video was very cool and interesting.

I have a 150cc hammerhead just like the one on the videos and a friend of mine just gave me his wrecked Honda reflex 250cc with front end damaged but motor is in good condition do you think it would be a simple swap or maybe the shaft for the gear box might be larger or same

why not jerry rig a pull start mechanism on that kickstart shaft? 🤷 in case the starter motor didn't worked in the middle of nowhere 😂
