Great Video, I have the symptoms of noise coming from the CVT cover. However my 2014 150cc Tao Tao also shakes and stalls out when I come to a complete stop. I have cleaned the carb, checked valve clearances, cleaned fuel filter, messed with the idle screw, and yet it still shakes and dies out when stopping. It was running fine until about 2 weeks ago and then all of the sudden I am having this issue of stopping and having it stall out. Do you think changing the rollers out may stop me from having this issue?

I hope this makes my trike 50cc scooter go faster I’d at least like to go 50 but I finally changed it to a 100cc jug and piston but it smokes because it’s to powerful for the 50cc head so I have to get a head and rocker arms and exhaust and it should stop smoking. But if it doesn’t I’m going to save and get the complete 80cc kit with everything right down to spacers and gaskets oh by the way it does 71 mph now but it’s smoking bad and it is almost new so I’m not going tear it up just going to get the right stuff and do it right.

Scott Milnes just find someone who has a very powerful drill, preferably a corded one that plugs directly into a socket, they are always powerful enough and u don't even have to hold it from spinning, it'll spin a little but the nut will come off so fast it'll barely have time to spin, if u don't know anyone who has a high powered impact driver u can rent them cheap at places like home depot and free and some auto parts stores

I hear a loud rattling but only when the engine is revving down. Like as I let off the throttle as I approach a stop sign. The sound is not present when accelerating or idling, only when slowing down or coasting. Could this be caused by worn rollers? I initially thought I had a loose bolt somewhere that was jiggling but I can't find one anywhere.

+salisburyplain998 Maybe try 1 or 2 gram heavier rollers. The engine will rev less off the line. You may also need to inspect the clutch.

wont 18g rollers be terrible on take off on a 50cc gy6 139qmb? mine has 5g rollers in in and it takes off ok but i ordered 4 g rollers for more take off.. i installed a new DLH racing variator and staggered my weights 5g 7g 5g 7g 5g 7g to get an over all average of 6g variation and it is slower on take off now so im going back to the 5g rollers until my 4g rollers come in a couple days.. im also going to install a 1500 rpm yellow racing clutch spring to help on launch.. im trying to find the best possible setup for 0 `to 30mph and pull a hill at a steady 20mph or better if possible.. i only weigh 170lbs .. what is your recomendation?
@electronicsNmore
@electronicsNmore 7 лет назад
Lower weight rollers will cause the engine to rev a lot more before you start to move, and cause the rpm to be much higher at top speed. For best fuel economy, a heavier roller is best, but you lose speed on take off.
@youngbuck22481
@youngbuck22481 7 лет назад
What about those people putting 18 g rollers in? I live in the mountains with lots of hills.. so would you put 4G rollers or 18g? I'm think of the 4G cause 0 to 35 is all that really matters as long as it can steady pull me up a hill doing at least 20 to 25..your thoughts on roller weights and driving up hills?
@LeapFrog_Radio
@LeapFrog_Radio 5 лет назад
@@youngbuck22481 ,. The confusion here rests between 50cc and 150cc GY6 versions. 50cc scooters used weights around 5 grams and 150 around 15, that's just ballpark numbers I guess....

hello i have a 150cc chinese scooter , it only goes 85km/h , getting lighter rollers will make it faster ?

No, heavier rollers tend to give a higher top speed, and better fuel economy.

on my 150 what would be a good roller to use?
@electronicsNmore
@electronicsNmore 7 лет назад
All depends on the terrain, or if you want good fuel economy. 14-15gm is ideal for hilly areas, and 18gm is good for flat areas where fuel economy and highest top end speed is desired.

Hi, i have a Kymco agility which i have bought a Naraku racing vario, i have also got a Naraku cdi, can anyone tell me if the 125 agility runs good with the standard cdi and racing variator or if it is nessessary to put in the racing cdi and up jet???
@electronicsNmore
@electronicsNmore 9 лет назад
Hi Brent. I personally would not touch the jet. If you switched to a larger bore on your engine, then yes, otherwise I would leave it alone.
@BrentTheGent1
@BrentTheGent1 9 лет назад
So, do you think that with the Naraku vario and stock cdi will give me that little extra take off?? I dont know the weight of the stock rollers yet! And with the Naraku vario came 2 sets! 6 at 10.3g and 6 at 11.4g, i guess with normal cdi and new hightened ramp on vario its just a case of getting the roller weight combo right for mostly in city but also runs out country roads!! I dont expect a rocket or i would just sit my test and get a bigger scoot but having bad back problems a scooter was perfect for me, and i am actually surprised at how well my little Kymco being very basic but is still good for sitting at 60mph, but most as i said is downtown and just need that bit of pull to feel safe in traffic to get out the way!! Thanks for your reply!!

+Gregory Megatron Hi there. Using lighter rollers will cause the engine to rev more before moving(higher RPM). The result is more torque up hills and off the line, but usually the top end speed will be a little lower, and you will not have as good gas mileage cruising down the highway as heavier rollers. Thanks For Watching!
@gregatron4528
@gregatron4528 8 лет назад
Ok thanks for the quick reply! Honestly I don't quite need to take off quicker and would prefer any high end that I could get so maybe I should go heavier than stock.. Or here's a dumb question: changing the stock rollers with the exact same weight but higher quality do anything different or no? Also have you tried experimenting with removing every other roller?
@electronicsNmore
@electronicsNmore 8 лет назад
Gregory Megatron Quality is irrelevant. 18 grams is 18 grams. :-)
