Steps to perform yearly maintenance on a GY6 CVT (transmission). Donate: paypal.me/JoeysGarageL Email: JoeysTheMechanic@gmail.com Twitter: @InJoeysGarage Music by: Joey ;-0
One tip I might add: when removing bolts of varying size/length on an assembly (the CVT cover in this case), use a piece of cardboard & punch holes in it in the same pattern as the bolts to be removed. As each bolt is taken out, push it through the corresponding hole in the cardboard. Very helpful for correct reassembly, especially if you're unable to complete the work right away.
No need for that, that leads to mistakes; you *MUST* know that each bolt must spin in ,7 or 8 threads, and, all of them the same amount: so,you put any bolt in any hole and sight it: do the same with the others, they must protrude the same; then, you can start tightening... that´s how a mechanic works,he knows what bolt is needed for every threaded hole, and the factory already provides it: easy.
I would have to agree. Putting the wrong sized screws back in was why I destroyed two magnetos for the video. Super stupid mistake. Screws were too long and tore them up.
I noticed there was NO gasket? Also do you think the bolt hardware could be swapped out and replaced with studs and bolt, like on the exhaust manifold.
hello I'm Italian, I have a gy6 engine but I broke the strap could you tell me the measure please do not know how to do here do not produce.. thank you
Can I use API GL-4 SAE-90 GEAR OIL in Transmission of TVS Jupiter or Honda Activa 4G 110cc gearless scooters? Will it reduce the performance, pickup & milage and increase the wear & tear of transmission gears of scooter? TVS company manual recommended to use same engine oil (10w30 JASO MA2) as the gear oil in transmission also.
I see alot of videos about this GY6 scooter, is it popular in the us for being a reliable and easy maintenance scooter ? out here in my country it's the kymco movie 125 scooter which is very popular, i guess each country has it's own "movie" scooter
Not sure how many kms that is. Most people just check the weights often, and change them when flat spots start appearing. When I was riding regularly, I found once a year easy for me, so I didn’t have to worry about it or the belt.
