Full gym session from the Lanzarote training camp. This is the first of three gym sessions I do each week, and the third week of a four week training cycle. Race analysis: www.jingramswimming.com/raceanalysis Instagram: jingram98
In the gym I focus on big compounds and lower rep ranges like 4-6, I then supplement that with accessory work, would you say this is good for my swimming
Yes that’s a good rep range for strength, depending on what the accessory movements you’re doing you could keep them in the strength range too. As you can see from this video I do almost exclusively compound movements, and that’s working well for me- gaining strength and not too much size
Quick questions: is that the only hamstring movement you do? And what were the exercises you implemented that you felt really impacted your performance after continued training?
It is in this session, and then in the power day I do another one. At the moment I’m doing nordics. I think the most impactful have been the basics. For me probably bench press and the feet elevated bridge I’d give the most credit to
The feet elevated bridges are done with both legs. You could do them with one but I think because the load would be significantly less it would be less effective. Try it though!
maybe! 😂 great core exercise though, get on it! I did some running as a kid but nothing particularly noteworthy- I'd be pretty useless now though I think!
