skin hygiene is so important when you're acne prone and going to the gym/exercising a lot. to just to recap: do not touch your face when you're out and about (especially at gym), keep hydrated, what your face and body as soon as you finish working out, double cleanse if you've been wearing makeup and spf too, make sure you wash your hands with soap before washing your face, tie your hair up and out of your face, wash your pillow cases frequently. hope you are able to take something helpful away from this video. don't forget to like, comment and subscribe and I'll see you in the next one!

Wearing makeup at the gym can definitely make your skin worse! You’re gorgeous so if you feel comfortable enough, maybe try going a month without makeup and see!

I started having terrible acne about a year into going to the gym regularly and I definitely noticed a correlation as well. I’ve also been told that it could have been caused by whey protein that I was drinking regularly, although I’ve since stopped the whey but the acne is still here 🤣 glad you’re skin is clearing up very happy for you!

Its not the whey protein specifically, but it could be due to a significant increase in dairy consumption which comes with starting to take whey powder. Just food for thought :)

I want to add that the type of protein powder you use can really be contributing to your acne! ever since I started using weigh protein two months ago, I've developed hormonal acne on my entire jawline that I've previously never experienced before. I cut it out and its been starting to improve but just something to keep in mind with whey protein and BCAAs

Try Beef isolate protein powder, I’d recommend getting one that’s flavoured because unflavoured will destroy your taste buds

Thanks for the tips Syd! I've always had acne prone skin but it got terrible when I started taking creatine, I did a little research and creatine can increase the androgens in your body which is linked to acne. It sucks because the gains were immaculate lol but not worth it for me if my skin suffers

I've definitely noticed worsened acne around my jaw, chin, neck and side of cheeks just like you. I dont bother with makeup atall anymore, which is hard when the acne is really bad. I just try not to look in the mirror, out pimple patches on the big boy spots, worse case scenario wear a cap to the gym. Another thing that I've started to do is sanitise my ig over ear headphones before wearing them in the gym. Oils in my hair also flare up loads of little spots on my neck too, litreally overnight, so wearing a bonnet for sleeping so hair doesn't touch my face helps. But I still get hormonal spots every month and I'm 31. So I haven't found the complete magical solution yet. Most products I try break me out, my skin is dry, sensitive and acne prone so it can be a struggle with this combo.

I’m an 18 yr old boy never had jawline acne, been going gym for 2 months had acne ever since. Been gym before same thing.

makeup is really bad for your skin. Like you said, spotty skin is not a reflection of your worth, so why not work on accepting that? try going out with your bare face until you believe it

I would definitely stop wearing make up to the gym, mine has been so much better since I stopped wearing it!

hii, ive been struggling with acne for awhile and have been gg the gym for a year plus now and recently i got the skinsmart antimicrobial spray (basically super dilute chlorox for your face) and it helped me clear out my acne soooooo much! idk if it would be much help for you but its option for you if yw to try :))

having the same struggles with my skin, also the same area - I like to use bha-acid (the red peeling from the ordinary) this is helping a lot against the redness and pain at some days. but does really someone think hormonal acne is curable from the outside?

make sure you always wash your body after washing your hair. many hair products can clog your skin and make you break out.
