I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that she would get punished to that extent after defending herself while rapists or people who do revolting gross things that are way worse get left with a slap on the wrist. My heart goes out to gypsy she’s so strong

Very well said. It's simply despicable that there are no stipulations in place for children abused their entire lives and who act in self defense to protect themselves. There is no justice for them

IDC what anyone has to say Gypsy didn't deserve all that punishment it's all s**** and giggles until it happens to someone you care about at least she's showing remorse about it and wishing she could have went another way about it

Hey Aarin 👋 Her case reminds me a lot of The Menendez Brothers case. Kids being abused and failed by pretty much everyone around them (The justice system, family and friends) that didn't see another option but to kill their abusers (AKA: parents) one of things that surprised me the most is that everyone hated Dee Dee and saw her as a pathological liar 😮 PS: Currently in the US and I wanted to request you a video about the fentanyl crisis. All the love from San Francisco this time ❤️😁

Hi my dear! I appreciate you stopping by. We have the exact same idea love, this case instantly reminded me of the Menendez Brothers. I mentioned them briefly in the video. It breaks my heart they're still locked up, for much the same reason that Gypsy was. For having a hand in killing their lifelong abusers. It's not fair at all. I wish there would be special consideration for victim's of abuse who commit parricide. There just has to be because the statistics behind parricide are very telling.

Btw I'd love to do a video on the drug crisis my dear. This is something near and dear to my heart and I want to do loads of research before discussing it someday. Thank you for the suggestion! ❤

Her case is similiar to the case of Menendez brothers. They were abused by their parents, in different ways. It's so sad and crazy when you think how your parents, who are supposed to love you the most and take care of you, can make you suffer all your life.Maybe for some people it's crazy and abnormal when we say they deserve to be released, but just put yourself in their place...how would you feel if you're abused by your parents all your life? It's very complex and hard to talk about things like this and there will be always different opinions on topics like this. I'm just glad for Gipsy, because after all she deserves to live normally and be happy.

Yes I agree so much. I compared her to the Menendez brothers in this video briefly, because the similarities are so glaring. It hurts to think had she done a bit more that night or had a different defense team, she may've ended up with the same fate as the Menendez brothers which is simply unacceptable. Her abuse was easier to prove, but both cases are extremely tragic and deserve special consideration due to the dynamics and statistics behind parricide. I'm glad she's free too and will keep holding out hope that the Menendez brothers are set free someday soon. 🤧

Very true unfortunately there was differences that caused vastly different outcomes. 1) After looking into circumstances there was a mountain of evidence against Deedee with the fraud and all the abuse she put Gypsy through. 2) Timing of the crimes Deedee’s murder was in 2015 the Mendez brothers killed their parents in 1989. Also Gypsy felt guilty and came clean in a matter of days on her own. The Mendez brothers I think it was a couple years of investigation. They did everything they could to cover there tracks. Also in the early 90s people didn’t believe those young men could be abused like that. Society thought it only happened to girls. 3) Gypsy didn’t actually stab her mother. The Mendez brothers took shot guns and shot both the parents repeatedly. 4) there wasn’t any real actually evidence of the Mendez brothers parents abusing them.

Gypsy was imprisoned and abused by her mom her whole life. Then sent to prison?! She should have been sent to treatment.

Hey love! I think it's a pretty crazy scenario. It really sucks if her actions destroyed a marriage, in addition to the male involved. I really want to look into it more to be more informed, but I'd love to do a quick video on it someday soon. Thanks for asking! ❤

I'm also upset with the medical and dental communities. There was nothing wring with this child, and the doctors and dentists just let the mother tell them? Very scary. Thought for sure the professionals were at the very least, a stop gap.
