Liquid Swords is only 2nd to Illmatic... Wu Tang For Forever best double disc Hips Hop album imo... Gza was wu tang Goat from 92 to 2000 EZ... Then Ghost & Meth went to another level.. Deck best punchline rapper in the clan but after his first album was lost in Rzas flood, he just couldn't put together a great solo album... but any of his verses on wu albums or any features he does not miss EVER lol

His album Beneath the Surface was fire. Liquid swords was my joint but Beneath the Surface topped it. Gaz was the Wordsmith and Rza was the beat maker. Great tag team
Liquid Swords was THE album that got me into Hip Hop.. Thank you GZA, RZA, and the rest of the Wu Tang Clan for changing my perspective of what good music truly is. 🙏

Actually that was the authentic style and energy of the Legendary Genius Aka Gza. We really wasn’t on all the copy cat type shit in NYC back in the day. Everybody had they own unique flare about them and that was the entire draw for the entire Wu Tang Clan.
Very underrated in the Wu-Family umbrella in my opinion and overall in the hip-hip universe, he’s never and rarely talked about, it’s a shame. I’ve been listening to Wu-Tang (obviously) and GZA since my high school days - damn those were the days😼💔❤️🩹
EVER! It's a wide entrance, small exit like a funnel, so deep it's picked up on radios in tunnels. And that's a layup lyric for him. I put on Liquid Swords for a non rap fan one day and said "just listen to his lyrics". They were blown away. "Where does he come up with this sht"? The Genius.
He broke down a rap freestyle simplistically and lyrically the way neil degrasse tyson breaks down EVERYTHING and he did it in the way he would understand, this is true poetry lol
He knew what was up. Afterwards he was kind of like..Gza is stealing his job of getting people interested in science. This was also around the time Gza was getting into schools to mentor students to write raps about science.
