The real way to tell them apart is to recognize Studio Styles. In normally licensed anime, the art style is given more flexibility since it's tied to a normal show that doesn't need to go through regulations. For Hentai? You only have a few studios to pick from, all of which stick to their preferred artstyles to pump out animations faster. If you're lucky, you'll get to make tweaks, but you're mostly SOL.
