I was with M&B back in 1961....and these roads had ditches eaten across them every morning with rain run-offs overnight !! What a rough ride...helmets into the roof !! I remember "Big Bend" near Revelstroke-Golden, when they started building the Glacier National Parkway.. the work was rough and hard on those 'square-fendered Kennys' !! This is a great video for old timers like me!! Memories!! Thanks for posting !!
Cullen Toons m & b was famous for not having road graders. They claimed to have 2 for the middle island. Camp Woss. One was in the shop and the other was broke down. Roughest excuse for a road ever seen.
Absolutely awesome...I've not rode that bridge though I have rode many others all over. Sure makes you think when you see something as amazing as an off road truck loaded...I used to work for CANFOR and also INTERFOR and I've had the pleasure of riding down a 26% 12m radius switch back loaded with over a 100 ton on one of these big bad boys and its quite something :D Great thumbs up posting!
Wow! I thought I hauled some big loads of wood.Takes a lot of nerve to drive a load like that.I used to put 10 chords of hardwood pulp on an old 1964 H-1000 tri-axle Ford straight truck back in the early 70's.We hauled from the eastern Adirondacks to the paper mill in Cornwall,Ontario, about 80 miles.A 4x8 foot chord of elm weighs about 4800 Lbs.Frankies load must be at least 60 tons of logs.
Conan568 could be heavier. We were hauling spruce that size that had been growing in a swamp at the end of Victoria Lake. It was so water logged that when it was dropped into the ocean it would sink.
In Canada too ! up to 200 tons and even more.I think you have the same trucks as here since Pacific and Hayes have sell a lot of trucks in Australia and New Zealand. The former Hayes employees have custom build a trailer that carry a max load of 860 tons in the 70'.
Так этот лесовоз предназначен возить свыше 120 тонн ! Для него то что он на видео везёт самый пустяк! На КрАЗ или КамАЗ загрузи такое трансмиссия и ходовая часть сразу развалится!
