Couldnt agree more.... My old 2017 RK was an amazing handler, and with the Torque cam was a joy through the corners.... and yes still my favourite of HD Models ive owned,,,, and will yet again own another down the not too distant future... cheers for review
Ive yet again ignited my love for this model, after finding my old 2017 RK up for sale at a dealer local to me 😎 .... now the job to aquire it into my possession 😃
Have just bought a previously loved 2008 Road King. Not picked up yet until new tyres arrive for roadworthy. Watching this video I'm hoping I get something similar in style, performance a little less I'll accept :) I'm sure I'm going to love it.
Great, accurate review. I picked up my 2020 RK Standard in Stone Washed White pearl last August. Traded in a 2010 Street Glide. Love the visibility and simplicity of the RK.
53 and just got my LAMS so I’m starting off with a street 500, but yeah, this is it. The road king is what I’m getting for my 55th birthday. Great review!
Thanks for the very informative review from a riders perspective David. I have never owned a Harley, but the RK is the one that I have always admired for it's comfort and simplicity. I will be pulling the trigger on one of these next year when I retire. Colour options will be the hardest decision. G'day from Nth Qld mate. Love your work.
Great review, mate. Lots of good info and a real seat-of-the-pants feel. Nice to have a comprehensive review on Aussie roads. This review is what I was looking for. Well done.
Not my style, that motorbike... and Harley’s in general, really, but always try to take in your reviews... some of the best film clips going... thank you, sir!
Fantastique moto !!
I have a 2020 Road King. This is my second Road King, my first was a 2013 model with the 103. One of my favorite motorcycles is the Road King. My 2020 is an improvement over my first. It just gets better with each new model. I had a stage II torque cam done on my 2020 with a full exhaust system. That really made a significant difference in performance and made my Road King is just awesome.
The Roadking will always remain in production at Harley-Davidson and is most wanted by the over 50s myself. I have a "19 Street Glide but am thinking about buying a new RK in" 23. Remains a great bike. Thx for share brother 👏🏼👏🏼
@@danthechippie4439 The evidence I've seen says they are coming out with a model like a RK but with even older styling. Hopefully it's not a limited edition Icon.
I got a 2020 last year. I'm going on 22k miles on it and agree completely. I've never been a HD fan or even owned one before, but this has become one of my favorite bikes. HD has really upped their game lately. I'm now a total fanboy!
Great review. I love my 2020 RK in Stiletto red. Due to this covid shite i only have done 7200 kilometers.last year. Now its inside hiding from road salt. Greatings from Holland!
I love the FLHR, especially in Kinetic Green or the rare Purple Fire. That said, I am intrigued by the new FLHT Electra Glide Standard. If the RK has a significant handing advantage then it’s an easy decision, but I haven’t ridden either.
EXACTLY what I say about the FLHR.. the perfect all around bike. It’s just as good running a mile away to the store, commuting to work, or crushing miles alone or two up. I love this bike so much. And it’s modular in nature .. pull the windshield off for a more hardcore cruiser look and feel. Windshield on for long hwy miles. The bars are the perfect place for me. It dips into tight u turns so well. Braking is bang on. The view over the bars is priceless! Guess u can tell how much I love my 2019 FLHR. The only thing I bitch about is the sound. It def isn’t my last ride.. 2010 Fatboy 96cu in TWIN CAM.. sounded amazing I have some Tab slip ons on order to hopefully get some sound back. Mine came with some Cobra Neighbor Haters.. should be called neighbor lovers they’re so damn quiet. Nice low rumble but ehhh. The old lady loves the quiet pipes. Hey! What gives HD? Those new wheels look dope. I’m not gonna whine about the 17s tho.. that’s some legit 1st world problems
I have a 18deluxe and would love to have this bike for long distance riding. Beautiful. Without the Road King 2024, I hope they improve some things like the lollipop turn signals, upgrade the 107 to least 114 cc. Also the Tach in the speedo something like the z deluxe which is nice and large.
I am going to buy me a long hauler and the road king is looking like the one, excellent video you hit all the roads gave your opinion of the bike well done thank you my friend, Its a little different seeing you ride on the other side of the road, we ride on the right side, lol! Thank again.
I keep watching this video on the spruce color RK. If I were to have a second and third HD this would be my touring bike. Hey HEAVY DUTY another blogger Robin the biker lady also rides this exact bike.
The windshield for me land right where I don’t want it. If I slouch some I look thru it .. Or realllly sit upright I can kinda see over or. I need to have it cut down some I think. Regarding buffeting.. get some FANGS!!! Fork wind deflector. They work and look amazing. Extra chrome on the front. Looks mean
The King still rules, but I do miss the 16" wheels on the new ones. I don't want the King to look "leaner and more agile". That's getting too close to a modern refined bike for my taste. Just my preference, I'm old school. And ride an older King.
As good as the new bikes handle, the older road kings handled better. Both tires were the same size on the older bikes which made them handle better. The handling is a bit slower with the fat rear tire.
Nice looking bike, love my 03 Fatboy but sure would like to take a longer trip on a RK. Just wondering about the infamous “death wobble” on the Harley touring bikes. Is that a thing of past? There are enough videos of that happening to make me think twice about the RK’s. Seems like everyone you talk to has a different opinion, so it’s hard to know.
Hi David, another great review. I am in the process of getting a 17 RK and would like to put a screen on it. Was wondering what size you would recommend, I am 6'4"? Cheers.
Cheers - one that is a few inches taller than stock. The dealers have test saddles and screens. Try one on for size. Also look at the extended reach saddle.
David Cohen thanks David, I have been looking at the saddle men LS extended reach seats, how do you rate them? Also, what height is the stock windshield? Cheers.
Larger hoops but shorter wall on the tires make the over all Diameter almost the same. So what are you talking about hear, I seem to be getting different stories, Can some one set me straight if I am wrong , and who is wright hear.
Actually - it's probably an improvement. I never noticed any difference between the clutch on Tourers or Softails. But some folks have to moan about something.
