I actually just read that John Mayer collabed on this track and that's why I'm here checking it out oh, if it's true let me know if it's not correct me.
I felt that and the reason being is because the frequencies behind that electric guitar made this song more meaningful to listen to along with the vocals....so collectively this track had alot of effort/emotion put into it
Thats actually how I found this song. I fell asleep watching SNL. I woke up to H.E.R. performing this song. It literally woke me up out of my sleep because I loved it so much. I immediately grabbed my phone and looked it up in my sleepy stupor. Just wow.
Thats so good to hear!!😊Now keep that in mind when u do whatever it is that ur good at, u can have the same impact on someone else... THATS WHY WE'RE ALL HERE. Now that u know ur worth u can help others find theirs😉💪🙏💕💕
yes the second saterday night live preformance was far out exellent stuff, I damn near cried at her guitar work. I wish she did more guitar than vocals. or bolth with more guitar.
I’m completely taken by this artist. I just get fulfilled listening to her intellectual thoughts. The definition of this artist says it all. Deep, she is all I listen to. Special young lady.
OMGEEEE, I just saw H.E.R. perform this song on Saturday Night Live. Damn near made me want to throw my shoe at my T.V. (Black church talk meaning that song was 🔥).
[Intro] Hey [Verse 1] Holding me You ain't been holding on to me I can't wait too long, I don't wanna keep It's hard to sleep Want to be free Want to be free [Pre-Chorus] How do you get somewhere comfortable then leave? Say something baby, something baby Running to you, running from me Don't wanna keep on Don't wanna be so dependant on you Dependant on me Don't wanna keep on, no [Chorus] And if I hold on to you I'm only hurting me I know if I hold on to you I'll never want to leave Wanna love me, wanna set me free [Verse 2] Don't take me for granted No, every time when we get alone Deep in my bones, no Stay for mе [Pre-Chorus] How do you get somewherе comfortable then leave? Say something baby, something to me Running to you, running from me Don't wanna keep on Don't wanna be so dependant on you Dependant on me Don't wanna keep on, no [Chorus] And if I hold on to you I'm only hurting me I know if I hold on to you I'll never want to leave
Now this is what you call timeless. Like Prince, Al Green, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross timeless. All those artists I named had their own unique something that just made them stand out amongst others. This type of artistry is so damn rare. I'm just happy I'm blessed to hear it. Definitely gotta go to either a concert or her festival. Geesh 🔥🥰
I attended her Back Of My Mind concert while she was on tour and I don't regret it! She was so personable and it really felt like she was singing to us in her living room like we'd known each other for years
My fav version is H.E.R and Chris Stapleton live at the CMT Awards in 2021. If you love raw guitar... that's the version for you! I want to play guitar like this girl....I'm only a 63y/o white Nan from the 🇬🇧, tone deaf, can't play any instrument (not even the recorder!!)....but I've always loved blues guitar in particular. Thank Gawd for RU-vid et al for bringing me other talent to listen to. Oh to reach 63 and still love a live gig!!! Greetings from the 🇬🇧
This song has a special place in my heart. I was in my happiest when i first listened to it and just sticked to that good memory. I came back now to remind myself that i had some good moments and it will get better
Who remembers when H.E.R. used to drop gems late at night like this when she was our little secret. So glad to see how much she has grown and gained the recognition she deserves. A queen from day 1! 👑💯💙🙏🏽🙌🏾
