As a long time HK armorer, I just want to commend you on a great and informative video! Many people do not understand HK's history with the commercial market, and current German laws. Great setup on your K! Great information presentation!! Best wishes!
Thank you very much, that means a lot to me. I have no attention to be conducting either the hype or hate train and like to add a bit of education to my videos. Unfortunately, the RU-vid algorithm isn't a fan of "boring videos". So I'm especially glad that you appriciate what I'm trying to do here.
When I was taught to use an MP5 my instructor taught us to roll the gun inwards and rotate our hand around the grip (thus pushing the thumb forward) as if we were applying throttle on a motorcycle. He was also a motorcycle cop so I guess that made sense for him. His name was Ted Smith he was my friend and I miss him.
Hi from the Czech Republic. I have recently bought exactly this variant of HK SP5k. It was used from the shooting range so the price was very low (well, low for original HK, you know what I mean 😭). I didn’t spend much time thinking before buying it and therefore I was very surprised by all the unpleasant things you describe: missing paddle, unreachable safety lever, no trilog, so little space for HK slap (UTG mount once hurt my fingers badly) 😤But it shoots so great! And the vibe! 🥰 We do have one love and hate relationship here for sure. 🤣 Thank you very much for a nice review!
In a MP5 operators course where a lot of us were running optics, an instructor suggested somewhat cupping your hand or making an L shape with your hand and coming straight down to slap the charging handle. It's very reliable. Slapping would work sometimes, but others I would miss it, because the optic was in the way. I've also made a fist and hit it, but unless you're wearing gloves, you'll only do it a couple times before your hand gets sore.
I got one that is made under license from MKE. It has the pin and paddle release. I prefer the MP5k-PDW with tri-lug. I have the tri-lug as well as threaded barrel. I plan to get a suppressor eventually. I like the cut drum sight. I've used it out to 200 meters. All the settings are the same but are different width. From what I heard it's because the K was initially developed as more a machine pistol with no stock. You can swap them out if you get the drum sight and tool. I love mine. My dad had it in the military for a short time before they switched to M4s because of armor wearing enemies. Before I got my tax stamp approved for the SBR, I would do the sling shooting method the SAS would use and I'm actually quite adept at running it like that. It's my favorite pistol caliber gun. I love roller delay blowback. Why I have a Cetme C (308/7.62x51) and Cetme L(5.56x45) too.
Thanks for the review, I enjoy seeing reviews on the platform from around the world and I enjoy your humor! I'm subscribing, excited to see what else you come up with. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Back in the day on the US market there was a aftermarket paddle style magazine release that went from left to right instead of back to front. It actually works super well and I think was actually better than the factory one as it was larger and less obscured by the trigger guard.
@@ScaarAT it was called the tac latch i don't think they're made anymore I don't think they've been made in years because the HK clones disappeared off the market for decades.
@@ScaarAT I fully agree! I havn't taken this step myself, yet, but I know plenty of people who have. I loved how you covered the B&T parts in this video. I'm considering getting these part for my airsoft replica gbbr (shocker, right? 😆) but I've never actually found anyone else speak about them mounted to a MP5k, so this video did help me a lot, thank you!
Watching and liking my videos is a great start 😊 If you feel like it, you can check out scaarat.redbubble.com. My designs are for sell there, on t-shirts, mugs and other stuff
Awesome firearm....love the MP5K snubby nose so sexy....I just got a clone AP5-M the closest thing I could afford lol hope to get it setup with a brace red dot and angled foregrip....kool vid bro 👍🏼
I always liked the look of the MP5K-PDW without the extended threaded barrel, it just looks clean. Mainly because I watched 007: Tomorrow Never Dies alot and is basically an HK advertisement action movie.
Geiles Review! 🇦🇹 LG Burger Austria
Great review! Are you currently using the Acro P-2? If you don't mind me asking, which B&T base plate are you using, and does the hood of the front sight obstruct the view of the red dot?
Right now it's the P-1. I'm using the lowest B&T Acro picatinny mount. The hood is in the way, depending on how you look through the sight. But it doesn't cover the target sagnificantly. It's OK for me, I also use the hood as an indicator to aim through the sight, if the battery should suddenly die or the electronics would fail
We're on the same wavelength with the SP5k even though I picked up MKE's Z5k imported by Zenith firearms. It has the paddle mag release as well as the HK's missing pin in place. I actually think some people don't know the difference between the SP5k and the SP5k PDW. If I want to run suppressed I'll use my Z-5RS aka MKE SP5.
I absolutely agree. The full size MP5 is a much better suppressor host than the mp5k. I chose the sp5k over the MKE T94K (that's what the Z5k is called here), because I needed a reference for fit and finish 😂
Sorry for the late question, are you able to attach a sling (3-point or 2 to 1)to the front while having the B&T hand guard installed. I’ve read you won’t be able to use it after installing the B&T. Thanks.
With a US 3k price tag, that’s definitely not a range toy 😅 only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger and feeling now regret is the bolt not locking back on the last shot. I’d be sad to get it then they release a new gen with it lol😢
Not sure if that will ever happen. The MP5 10mm and 40sw had a bolt catch. But after them HK made the UMP as a "cheaper" successor of the MP5. The UMP is direct blowback tho, so no roller-delayed fun. I'd love to to see a SP5-10, but it's highly unlikely it will ever happen.
I felt the same way but I also thought about what if everything sells out and they don’t import anymore over to the US and prices jump back up to 4-5k+ again😅 if they ever release a new updated version, which they probably won’t, I’ll just sell it and pay the difference 🙃 PS. I just bought mine yesterday for under 3k so I’m not getting buyers remorse that bad 😅🫡
That thing has a Shorter Barrel then My USP45 Pistol Full Size (not the extended SOCOM version) , i love HK and like all HK lovers i love the MP5 but not this one, would i love it? Probly, but i wouldnt buy it, its got less Range then my USP45 which is awesome for out to 50yards accurately for me, and maybe 100yards for a sharp shooter, i would go for a HK G36 or even a G3 if i could find one, and im waiting on The VP40 which wasnt cheap so i If i had to Spend on another H&K which are super expensive here in Canada, my pops got the original MP5 from the 90s so i can play with one whenever and hes Willing it to me if i dont Die before Him lol but hes only 55 and im 33 so hopefully it lasts another 20-40years 😅
This is the B&T stock and it's the german made SP5K. So yes, it fits. But there is also a version of the stock for the MP5. So you hab eto make sure that you're getting the correct one for the K
That's just a running gag. I'm recording intro songs for my reviews 😅 I used music software at the beginning for the beats, but switched to music from the RU-vid music database that doesn't require credits later
@@forkthepork go for the trilug version. Suppressor = win. The SP5K was the one firearm I wanted non-suppressed. I just love how it looks with th stubby-nose barrel
