I would say that the bass of the the 7 is a little more tighter. Not especially deeper or stronger. I prefer the sound of the 7 over the Studio 6.

No. I had onyx 6 now 7. Onyx 6 bass feels stronger. Cause it goes deeper. Inyx 7 is boomier

I personally own a onyx 6 and I thought was the better decision I’ve ever made but man onyx 7 sounds clear and I love it. Never mind about the waterproof. Gonna buy this. Go for it guys. HK never disappoints you.

Onyx 7 is a shit, you can't bring it to the bathroom because of humidity, this is a downgrade. I like listen to music while i'm having a shower. Onyx 6 is the best. If I want a real stereo sound, I will buy 2 speaker, not 1 speaker with 2 tweeters...

Glad to see the first impressions I don't have the 6 so I'm glad you did a quick comparison but one thing I learned 4 days ago you can actually you can pair the 5 and 6 together in stereo so after you pair them up together press and hold the playing pause button for 4 seconds on any speaker and you got stereo😄

The Studio One still had the deepest bass when last compared at least up to the studio 4. Does anyone know if HK have returned to the deeper bass sound of the original from the 5 onwards?

The Herman Kardon studio 6 works pretty good with the Poweramp music player trust me, I'm getting the best feel from this awesome speaker using the app, bass control and all

Studio 6 - better in aesthetics, Water proof, Mono, cheaper price than studio 7. Studio 7 - Not Water proof, Stereo. A bit pricey as of the moment. Onyx studio 7 is an upgrade for the sound quality though. But for me, if I have the budget now for the studio 7, I wouldn't buy it though. Instead, I will buy two studio 6. because for sure, two studio 6 would be a lot lot better than one studio 7. You got two powerful speaker with the price of one studio 7. Kudos to DLX. Man, you deserve more subscribers and views.🔥 Thank you so much for the comparison. More power to your channel.

I think it depends. Because from here, it sounded like the onyx 6 was more spatial than the 7 and that the 7 sounded more directional than the studio 6. But in terms of bass, they sound sort of similar, but the studio 7 sounds louder in the 1khz-4khz range.

I like more Studio 6. It's got more surface area so it's got more bass and it is waterproof. Go watch Alan Ross Reviews. He says that more surface area gives the speaker more bass. 7 sounds better, but 6 is still bassier and it is waterproof!

I just came across your video while looking for a good quality bluetooth speaker and I'm so happy I found this! I just saw the studio 6 for 179$ and at that price it's a great deal. For 179$ (or slightly less) you usually get the portable speakers like the Bose Flex or a JBL Charge, but just the sheer size of this speaker alone puts it into a whole different category of sound experience 😁. Thanks man!

I'm definitely a Stereo guy and I usually like having my 808's in Stereo. So I know what you mean when you say the Bass is lifted. In my experience w/mix&mastering, it has to be separated farther or higher in volume so you can get that full feel alongside everything else. I just ordered the HK6 for outdoors but Mono is pretty boring to me despite the speaker sounding good.

definitely worth upgrading to the 7....the stereo tweeters treble 'sparkles '! When I listened to Onyx 6 and 7 side by side, one after the other. Onyx 7 is the hands down winner! I played the opening to The Rembrandts Just The Way It Is. I bought the 6 just 10 minutes ago and realised the 7 is so much better. Bought the 7 too two days later. The 7 is now my daily listening speaker while the 6 for pool days. First world issues!

Yo willington, how do I update my firmware on onyx studio 6? Also, when connecting to my macbook pro, there seems to be lot of connectivity problem like the volume control won't work unless you do it from the speaker itself. wondering if there is a firmware update to fix this. LMK

I am curious sir, did you know the onyx harman kardon with almost same design in new onyx studio series which is studio 7. They both have big ring. I dont know the exact name but based on its manual.. It is HARMAN KARDON ONYX. Can we have a comparison between its 1st Harman kardon onyx VS the latest studio series (studio 7). Remember they both have BIG RING DESIGN almost similar to each other. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

Does anyone experienced an annoying buzz from the control button or from the upper area of the speaker when listening to some deep bass songs? I hear it and it's only at 50% volume level. If I increase the volume, the buzz also increases. I would really appreciate if anyone who owns a HK7 would be willing to make a test and tell me the result. On mine the problem appears on the range between 36 and 65Hz. I still have 5 days to return it to the shop. Thank you very much!
