Princess Mary, the Princess Royal and Countess of Harewood. What can I say - I think she was adorable and I hope, you like the video. I made it a long time ago, so it isnt perfect :(
Fascinating, apart from looking like her mother Queen Mary, in some of the early photos there are definitely resemblances with Princess Anne and even the Queen before she was married.
What a beautiful set of photos. Mary was so pretty. Looked so much like her mother. I loved looking at all the vintage clothing and jewelry. You did a great job on this video - thank you 🙂
My sister and I were lucky enough to visit Harwood house, while on holiday in Yorkshire a few years ago. In one foe the rooms is a bust ofvthe princess in her later years. I actually thought it was the queen until I looked closer
What strikes me most is how many pictures she is actually smiling in and ow pretty she looks smiling. Rare for a royal of that day to be seen smiling. She seemed genuinely happy.
She was happily married to a man fifteen years her senior, which was not uncommon at that time. He was a shy, discreet person but his elder son wrote that he was a sweet, funny and lovable family man.
Lady Louise Windsor resembles her also, in addition to Zara Phillips and her mother Anne. Amazing how Mary von Teck's face is still apparent in her female descendants!
Yes. I noticed the resemblance between Lady Louise and Queen Mary of Teck as soon as I saw photos of Mary. And the first time I saw a photo of Princess Mary as an adult, I noticed similarities to Princess Anne.
The current Princess Royal bears a striking resemblance to her predecessor. I can also see a similarity in the Earl and Countess of Wessex's daughty Lady Louise. And in her later years she has a definite look of the Queen her niece.
She resembles nearly all of the Royal Family both past and present. She has a look of Princess Anne. I remember the music but cannot remember the name. I think it was done in the 1970s.
Princess Anne resembles her grandaunt in some ways but she has a weak chin which almost makes her look plain. Princess Mary was far more beautiful. Zara looks more like her imo.
Princess Mary's Harewood family was represented in George V's Royal Family as Mary was his daughter and her sons, George and Gerald, were his grandchildren. The family ties grow longer, and now, currently, Queen Elizabeth II's Royal Family would have only concluded them as cousins. Both George and Gerald are now deceased as of 2011, and their successors are the Queen's second cousins, quite distant.
Yes the Earl of Harewood was at the Golden Jubilee Thanksgiving Service. He sat directly behind the Queen. The video of the procession shows the Queen turning to him and smiling before she took her seat. I am sure that he was invited to many more family and state occasions. His brother died in while the Earl in 2011
Princess Anne didn't look 'exactly' like her grandaunt Princess Mary. There was a resemblance but Mary was much prettier. Zara however does bare a more striking resemblance.
queen Elisabeth looks so much like her. The genes of queen Mary seem to be strong: they are dominant in her daughter, her 2 grand daughters, her grand grand daughter Anne and her grand grand grand daughter Zara... 5 genarations of women that ressemble to each other.!!!!
Only prettier. The Queen was very pretty in her youth but her aunt was far more beautiful imo. And way more than Princess Anne who is plain compared to her.
Princess Alexandra and Lady Gabrielle has a striking resemblance to Queen Alexandra. Though you're right they have a resemblance with Princess Mary too.
Princess Mary was not as beautiful as her sister-in-law the Queen Mother who was 3 years and 3 months and six days younger than her. That is a total of 2,002 days in their age difference.
Very interesting and thanks to Lady Mountbatton only one of so many interesting royal projects.. must have taken you such a long time but were all very grateful. I had the pleasure of knowing her Daughter in Law; prior to her divorce from the present Lord Harewood, She was always very fond of her Mother in Law. Yes Queen Mary did pass on strong genetic resemblances to the Windsor females right down to Zara Phillips and indeed Lady Gabriella Windsor. Thank You once again for all your efforts.
A lovely tribute to a true English Rose! Princess Mary the Princess Royal, Countess of Harewood was not just a Royal beauty, she served her country well, always with dignity and regal grace from all that I have read and seen.
I discovered this beautiful video. What a remarkable woman. She does resemble Princess Anne and Zara Phillips. The music is superb. Can you share the name of the song. Thank you for this tribute.
I think Lady Gabriella Windsor resembles Queen Alexandra and her daughters, Princesses Maud and Victoria more so then Mary. The Queen does resemble Princess Mary a lot!
Lovely video! I've watched it several times over! I love the photographs!! She comes across as a sweet, kindly lady. Bless her, and you for putting this up!
I see a lot of Princess Anne in her. I think that she and her brothers had a difficult childhood. I didn't know the story of her not attending the Queen's wedding because Wallis and Edward were not invited. Interesting, thankyou. It seems strange that the daughter of a King can disappear as she has done.
Deeply beautiful and very striking features. The Princess caputures the attention of the viewer and her looks are years ahead of all the present day fashion icons and with added sophistication. HM The Queen has also this powerful beauty. I have just come from a visit in Kirchheim unter Teck in Baden Wuerttemberg. The day was sunny and warm. I am wondering if the "nicht ebenbürtigen Gräfin" had also these powerful looks?( Queen Marys Grandmother)Von Teck today is Prince and Princess Cambridge.
I see the 'Teck' eyes in pretty little Princess Charlotte of Cambridge. Her big brother Prince George is more wide eyed than his sister, probably more Spencer in his looks imo.
May of Teck's brother married her husband's cousin Alice of Albany..therefore May Cambridge ad heamophiliac Viscount Trematon were both first and second cousins of young Mary and her brothers.
To me, I think that Queen Elizabeth II resembles Princess Mary a lot! Princess Anne looks like Princess Mary in a few pictures, but there isn't really a past royal who I can say Princess Anne resembles greatly.
I see a resemblance with Princess Anne except in the beauty department. Anne has the features but they are far plainer than her late grandaunt. She has a weak chin where as her aunt's features were far better balanced, much prettier.
