my favourite royal. Always elegant, perfect composure, brilliant warm smile, intellgent - an indefatigable and self effacing worker for the various charities of which she is patron. A life of service to the country and the crown, her private life refreshingly unmarked by scandal or controversy (many royals have a thing or two to learn here.). I am also always struck by her resemblance to Queen Alexandra especially the eyes and the way she smiles.
A very beautiful and gracious princess. If history had been different I really do believe that she would have made as fine a monarch as our own Elizabeth II.
I well remember the wedding to Angus Ogilvy, back in the 60's. I tape recorded the programme for the Scots Guards pipers playing after the ceremony while the bells sounded. Now, I'm a piper and often play the same tunes at weddings!
I have the utmost respect for Princess Alexandra! 👍❤️😊 I wonder if her mother objected to her marrying a commoner? Her mother did not approve of Katherine Worsley for her son Edward. However the couple appear to have had a happy and normal life together, and a nice family (I was sorry to hear of Duchess Katherine's illness ... But none of us are getting any younger. Edward is hanging in there!) I have often wondered how Alexandra's mother felt about her youngest son's choice of spouse.
@LadyMountbatten Oh yes, she sure is! If you can call that life anyway. Her Royal Highness is one of the most beloved members of the Royal family. We can only wish her good health. Let's all pray for her well being and for a nice time, whatever religion of confession we come from. She truly deserves it.
always very attractive she has such a distinctive speaking voice too, her Mother Princess Marina was always considered a great Beauty...often Diana Spencer was compared with Marina and the impact Marina had on the Royal Family... The press adored her an she worked jolly hard too.. It was rumoured Princess Alexandra was out of favour for a while with HM THe Queen something about a possible affair with Prince Philip, many, many years ago...can anyone add anything...? Amazing how attractive Angus Ogilvy was when younger...when you consider how he looked later in life...they always appears very happy.
There has been gossip about Phillip and Alexandra of Kent, but I should think that is all it is, it would seem highly unlikely that if Phillip strayed it would be with the Queens cousin.
James I treasure the photograph taken at Windsor Castle 1969 Christmas with you , your sister Marina, Lady Sarah Armstrong Jones, Lady Helen Windsor, Viscount Linley, Earl of St Andrews, Prince Edward, and Prince Andrew . I am presuming you are Princess Alexandra's son?
Maggy May Thank you Maggy May! I'd be honored to be Princess Alexandra's son. However, I am a much older (than that James) cousin to Her Royal Highness and also to her husband. I think James must be the most often given name in the Ogilvy family. lol God bless.
Those are two rather personnal questions, my sweet dear Sarah. As for the latter, I am lucky enough not to have to worry about 'supporting myself' as you put it. Let's just say I let to others that sort of worryness while I devote my Noble and precious time to my charitative campaiigns all over the globe and planet. May the Almighty bless you, my little child!
That is very sweet indeed. There is always a first time for everything in life, you know, my young child. And it seems you need a real man to teach you manners and how to be a lovely, submissive, humble, devoted wife.
@kyldy Princess Alexandra is not a nurse, but she is still carrying out royal duties. Marina works in the music industry and hasn't caused any bother since her very public spat with her family many years ago.
Anyone know if there's a site or fanpage dedicated to her? I'd love to know and if you have any photos/videos/intereviews of her and want to share them, please send me a message :)
@TheAnn2shoes sorry I should have made it clear I was referring to HRH Princess Alexandra. as for Marina Olgive Moffat, not sure what that woman is doing these days. She cuased such a fuss in the day.
Lady Mountbatten you have once again done well. I do hope that since the death of her husband both the children have been a comfort. too bad Miss Marina gave them such a time. However She is as I believe a nurse and having met her I know so gracious. How can one not love her.
@odysseetheater Oh dear theater, I prefer to respect her Royal Highness privacy and do not discuss her very sad and personnal matters on a place like this.
Thank you my dear little Sarah for your rather small comment. I can sense your lack of argumentative skills. I can only wish, pray and hope that your life is longer and happier than that of Princess Alexandra. May the Almighty bless your and your descendants, in case you have any.
That's a great age for a mature young woman. The perfect balance between innocent naiveness and kinky knowledge of the art of seduction. So how come a pretty face with a nice profession and money in the bank has not yet known the joys of marriage?
What a lovely profession! So very noble and full of altruism. Once I dated a pharmacist. The best part was that I never lacked of medicine. As for myself I am too busy with my charitative campaigns to have a job. Are you married, my dear Sarah?
Well dear Sarah, rarely have I heard such a senseless and selfish comment on youtube. So you think that the tragic loss of a father specially at an early age isn't tragic nor difficult enough? Don't you have a heart? And the rest of her life, for the Noble standars of living, was pretty poor indeed.
