This model is much better than many others. It has many frills like engine headlamps, guard's whistle, ballasted tracks, sound of the engine, dual whistle etc.
Great video! It's always exciting to see an H0 1/87 scale model railway start set being unboxed and tested for the first time. The detail in these models is always impressive, and it’s fascinating to watch the setup process from beginning to end. How did you find the quality of the track and the locomotive included in this set? Were there any particular challenges during the setup or testing phases? It's videos like this that can really help beginners understand what to expect when starting their own model railway journey. Looking forward to more insights and tips from your future unboxings!
Model of Soviet-made diesel lokomotive, this one had TE109 Series in the USSR and was exported to all Eastern block countries mostly then used in the country itself. From Eastern Germany (DR) these locomotives also spread into Western Germany, and now are part of the DB park. In Germany it is BR232. In Russia and other ex-USSR countries these are in museums only, but Germans really like these locomotives for some reason. They call it "Ludmila". Also in the USSR we had imported PIKO train sets made in GDR/ We believed it was pretty expensive, but now such sets are way too expensive for us.
This train ran in East Germany in the 80s as a long-distance train for connections to East Berlin with approx. 10 wagons. The locomotive was used by the DR from 1970. It is based on the Russian TE 109. The V300 was the backbone of the Deutsche Reichsbahn and many are still in use by DBAG and private companies. The sound is not correct because it seems to be driving with the brakes on all the time. Nice Video!

This set could have had more coaches! Looks like Thomas and his 2 coaches Annie and Clarabel got a new makeover! While Thomas changed into a powerful mainline diesel loco Annie and Clarabel became more comfortable LHB coaches.
