Thank you Dr Britton for always look out and bring us the first news. With all the rigmarole educators go through , the great, great expectations and demands of the job, educators must past a test to be licensed.. Aaah bwoy, what a profession to choose.😮 Funny I love my job as an educator.❤
I do teach in Vietnam and been working towards a DC license with Moreland University online. I’m exempted from taking Praxis I exams because my undergraduate grade point is above 3.0 (assessed by WES because I didn’t school in the US). I took the PLT Grades 7-12 exam on 12th Feb and got my test scores today.. 😊😊 I passed.. I did the free practice accompanying the PLT exam when you purchase it, and bought additional practice test on the ETS website. I guess people learn differently and are built differently. I watched RU-vid videos on the PLT exams, did the two practice tests (twice in each case) and sat the real test. The passing score in DC is 157 (out of 200) and I got 175 (🎉). Wish y’all all the best. And oh I did the test at home. (You get to do the test at home if during registration, you use a US address) and of course you need to check if the test is eligible for “At home testing”..
As a J1, am allowed to go home before the 3 yrs. Sponsor and school must be notified. My sponsor has to sign my Ds-2019 document to travel (they sign electronically). It is best to go home during break/holidays. If it's an emergency, and we need to leave during the teaching period, we have to make sure our employer say in writing that they are willing to let us continue with the job when we return.
