Talking about the PewDiePie drama & Hila calls in to yell at me. Thanks to videoblocks.com/h3 & audible.com/h3p... & naturebox.com/h3 for sponsoring us!
Is it just me or has the quality of the Garlic bread crust pepperoni Hot pocket gone down hill since the 1990's, it feels like they started packing them with less and less pepperoni meat starting in the year 2004. Ever since then they have just gotten packed with less chuncky meat. As of today 2017 April 24 the Garlic bread pepperoni Hot pocket is just a shell of what it used to be. I say we rise up against this heresy and make a strong meaningful petition to replace these soulless Garlic bread crust pepperoni Hot pockets with the former golden age 1990's Garlic bread crust pepperoni Hot pocket that is filled with all the thick delicious goodness all the 90's kids feel nostalgia for.
John Snake honestly I completely agree. I use to love the pepperoni hot pockets but now it just sort of seems a little lackluster in the pepperoni section, personally I had to change my favorite to the ham and cheese.
Ethan's voice lifted immediately after hearing Hila's voice. Y'all make me so happy, and I wish you nothing but the best while you bounce back from all of this. Appreciate ya, Ethan. Papa bless!
Jackson Tyler the whole phone call was cringe. Thanks for calling dude ? Man? That's your wife bro tell her you miss her and you love her. I always wondered why they show no affection towards each other, like ever.
Mniggs idk man my boyfriend calls me pizza box shaped head ass, not all couples are all sappy like that you know, i know lots of people would rather just chill and laugh with each other
In another video, I think it was the "WE FINALLY KISS" video, Ethan and Hila have expressed that they don't like to show affection on camera because it looks really sappy and they find it awkward to do that.
(Note: I am absolutely not criticizing Ethan in this observation and actually commend him for powering through so just have a sodie pop and a smile, chill) Throughout the podcast it seems like we can kind of see the anxiety Ethan talks about having before he met Hila. Even though she doesn't talk as much as him, it seems like having her there helps Ethan feel calm and confident in himself and his comedy whereas when she's not with him, he seems on edge and self-conscious. Hope the carer returns soon, papa bless
Mikey Matthew Idk if it is her absence or the whole of the internet raining hell down on him, but he was definitely not relaxed. I had never seen him like this.
Maybe a mixture of this and that he was doing it "solo". He probably felt like one of those comedians who are bombing on stage so if someone like Erik was there I think it would have worked imo, but its all just speculation
I have an anxiety/panic disorder where if I met one person alone and compared their opinion of me with someone who met me when accompanied with a friend or loved one, it would be as if they met two entirely different people. When I am alone, I withdraw almost entirely from society, even if it makes me miserable. However, when I am with someone else, I can act much more normally in public. Even taking my six year old nephew with me to speak to a store clerk makes me far more comfortable. It seems like to some degree, Ethan might suffer from similar anxieties.
There is a difference between your and Felix's use of the N-word. Where you go wrong is your assumption that your use is somehow not offensive, or not offensive in a way that merits an apology or criticism. You're making up special rules for him, that allow it to be appropriate to criticize him, but that conveniently excludes you from that same or similar criticism. You're always joking about people lacking self awareness, but then when you lack self awareness, as is the case here, you just want to brush that criticism away.
Yet He fails/refuses to acknowledge that and will continue to do so, blind fans will accept it agree and support him despise on whatever He says or do (Not much different than Justin bieber's fans), others will just disagree but will give a fair constructive criticism , others will turn against him and others are just there just there to hate, sad He shat on everyone that opposed him and those pointing out what He was doing wrong even those who were just trying to help, which isn't the first time, fans from his own sub-reddit had to deal with this never wrong Ethan issues...
I don't think it's fair to hate too much on Felix, but with that being said, Ethan's point is legit. Felix said it in an angry derogatory manner while Ethan joked around with it. Different intent and execution.
He talked to Felix before AND after that episode. Felix is totally okay with everything Ethan said. Stop crying tears for someone who disagrees with you. If you actually listened to the episode you might realize Ethan's in the right. "You're always joking about people lacking self awareness, but then when you lack self awareness, as is the case he" No fam it's still you.
I'm going to be honest...I teared up a little when she called and he was super relieved and she calmed him down and they were being so cute without being near each other.. I'm feeling emotional talking about it too lol
I'm kind of happy this show is flying under the radar. Because, despite working with small business owners that are probably not so tuned in to popular culture, they would find out who he is and not agree to do the show.
But it was kind of shitty, the setting was very alien from this format. I understand it is a matter of logistics, him being super far away and unavailable most all the time, but it'd be nice to have him on the show properly.
TyrTV He shows up on screen during the "Send in the Nooz" segments. He was also on screen for about 30 minutes during the last podcast (when they were drunkenly trying to do "Send in the Nooz" but kept getting sidetracked).
the entire chat on twitch for this video was "get dan and/or ian on" for like most of the stream. they really should have done it this time since hila wasn't there either.
The ironic cycle that everyone keeps on telling Ethan to stop bringing up the Pewdiepie N-word drama, yet at the same time won't stop bashing him and talking about it. Just like what GradeAunderA said; the problem with RU-vid drama isn't solely because of the RU-vidrs themselves, but all the audiences jumping through bandwagons and overreacting.
I've stopped reading the Facebook comments on the H3H3 page, some of the followers who comment are absolute garbage. I wont bring up specific posts, but every single time Ethan and Hila have an opinion on anything they get trashed. Yeah, I don't always agree with them either, but I don't have to! Seems like people are just pissed when they don't do comedy.
Ethan and Hila literally livestream their thoughts and opinions just being human beings. So cant anyone understand sometimes people like Ethan and Hila, Pewdiepie etc are going to say stuff without thinking about it completely or wholey because they are live streaming they dont go back and polish it they run with it like anyone else would. We are humans and think openly whatever you know?
that one stormtrooper i get that being anti-politicly correct is the new thing but idubbbz takes it too far. Some words have history and guess what : ITS OK TO BE OFFENDED so in my opinion, u shouldnt say words like the n word just out of respect of the cultures and the racial tension. At least thats what i do
The points Ian made in his content cop were about the importance of context, and how a lot of people hold the n word to a different standard than most other slurs. When he says "all of it's ok, or none of it's ok" he isn't trying to justify the use of the word. He's simply stating that we should be consistent about what we deem offensive
George Amos I hope he gets Idubbbz on, but I don't think that would be a good idea after all this n-word drama that is going on. Hopefully in the future though.
I think real fans of PewDiePie aren't insulted by Ethan's comments. I mean, PewDiePie himself defended Ethan, it's hard to be outraged for someone who doesn't think any wrong was done to him.
For me the things ethan said about pewdiepie didn't really affect me. What confused me though was the way he spoke to those who disagreed with him, shouting and cursing, calling them names and such. But yea I think Ethan didn't deserve any of this drama, people say stupid stuff they don't mean especially when drunk. Ethan's propably also been kinda stressed out since his caretaker hasn't been around for a while and frankly I've kept all respect for him. And for those reasons, I'm still in.
Milla P Well, that is kind of why I stopped drinking. He was drinking heavily (more than usual) right after Hila had left. His father-in-law has cancer. People were shitting on him for his Pewdz podcast. Drinking when in a negative emotional state is never a good combination. So, I didn't really get mad at podcast #29. I just thought he drank too much and let his inner emotions dictate his words.
I can't understand all these "I lost respect for you, Ethan" people. He's a fucking human being, not a god. People make mistakes and act brash sometimes.
This is why I love Ethan. He apologized for his drunken rant and expressed his regret for not addressing the opposing opinions more clearly the first time around. The beginning of the video was comically eloquent in that regard, at least in my opinion.
Courtney R. Rypkema I totally agree with you. It's not like I can really say what he should do but as someone who has watched all of the podcasts and will in the future, I'd like for Ethan to not drink (and he said that he won't smoke anymore, I hope he keeps his word on that) at least while recording these.
I feel like Ethan reacted really badly and immaturely to the criticism of his "i'm disappointed in pewdiepie" statements. People are going to get mad at him when he is commenting on such a big youtube personity, so he needs to expect that. Him getting butthurt and then giving condescending "apologies" makes me think differently of the guy, and lose some respect
Did you watch the podcast? I really didn't get a "condescending" vibe from any of it, he wasn't being patronizing, he was just trying to maintain his position while conceding that he didn't handle the situation well.
"that's the last cigarette you'll see me smoke on the podcast or on the street." Hila, this is a trick. He's making it sound like he's never going to smoke again, but he hasn't ruled out smoking at home. Keep an eye on him, Hila.
I am very satisfied with this response. A lot more coherent and explains the situation better. I was upset with you but would never leave just because I disagreed with you. Massive respect.
I disagreed with ethan on the pewdiepie thing but everyone has conflicting views with each other so I don't really care about Ethan's opinion on it, I care about the comedic and entertainment value of his videos, which is pretty high, and that's all that matters
What a shame. While his comedic timing is great, what's pivotal about Ethan is he uses humor to shine light on fucked up situations... Hopefully one day you'll watch and walk away with both a laugh and a change of perspective. Papa bless.
This comment section is more toxic than their livers after drinking last week. Ethan's fans are so hypersensitive lately, and so judgemental towards every little thing he says regarding Pewds. He's not perfect, and he's gonna say things you don't like. *HOWEVER.* I think his "who cares, we're all fucked" mentality and jokes towards the earthquakes and other natural disasters outside the physical US is fucked up. I don't condone that catastrophic way of thinking, and I wish everyone suffering my best wishes and prayers. I wish there was more I could do for you guys. Stay safe.
Attila The Khunt Kardeşim sana birşey sorucam.
I gained ALL respect for you Ethan. Papa Bless. P.S. I wasn't really bothered by your comments on Pewdiepie on that first video, your reaction to the fans and the yes men on that second podcast just rubbed me the wrong way. I wasn't bothered until that podcast, the first one on Pewdiepie I didn't really care about. Still love ya Ethan, and miss Hila
Zach House what about parading around the fact that he knows a black man, and could ask him how he felt? He totally didn't inject any arbitrary showmanship in asking him, what with the "ask a black man" segment right? And why should Ethan's dissertation on the matter go on for like 40 minutes? The use of the n word as a racial slur is society's fault not some Swedish gamer's. Morgan Freeman said in an interview when asked how we could get rid of racism, "stop talking about it." Perfectly sums up the issue: stop giving the word power. Pewdiepies apology seemed to satisfy everyone, it was succinct and genuine.
not me sitting at my 9-5 listening to this pod literally relating to everything ethan said about hussling a 9-5. honestly i can’t tell you enough how much i needed to hear that :,)
Hey ethan, I just want to thank you. I have binged nearly the complete first season of Nathan for you and it's one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. Disclaimer: Neither Nathan or anyone in the "Nathan for you" marketing team paid me to say this.
Completely missed the original point of why people were upset? Check. Repeated the same "argument" in response? Check. Blamed being drunk because it's convenient? Check. People were mad at you. Instead of addressing what they were actually mad about you decided to go on and on about the "outrage" that was perpetuated by the other commentary channels. You're missing the forest for the trees and your half-hearted attempts to, "apologize," and seem mature to the people who actually weren't paying attention is scummy, at best.
People are saying anyone with this view must be "new fans" but the "new fans" are probably the ones who binge-watched all of H3h3 and Ethan & Hila videos the most recent. Besides that, I think people can agree that this particular time that Ethan addresses an issue seems to be the most out of line of their thinking. I wish ethan would just straight up address the fact that he said he likes using the word in the iDubbz podcast. Even Philli D didn't mention it but i think it does make a difference. It doesn't align with "talking about the word like adult and actually having a real conversation about it" if the word didn't have the same connotations then it probably wouldnt be "as fun" which debunks the argument of "Felix used the word in a worse context" in which he just used it cuz the word is just the worst thing you can think of. I was also a little triggered when Hila said "Fuck the haters." I kinda get where she's coming from and it's just a saying but we're not 'haters'. These comments arent from Fellix's people. We're pretty much all h3h3 ~FANS~. I think instead of telling us to fuck off, you should listen when there's THIS MUCH backlash. Some of us are not mad that you defended/didnt defend Felix, it's ~HOW~ you did. In this podcast, I tried to look past it and move on but it's really hard to when you can tell the whole time after he was done talking about it, even he felt a little awkward (probably because he too, just like us, is TRYING to get over it). Then it was just confirmed that he still isnt, at the end. Even Dan had to say something like "yeah we already talked about it; it's done." Like obviously he has more to say so just spit it out. I think he and we are all worried this might be the breaking point for us.
Maggie - sort of agree with you, but when hila said "fuck the haters" it's obviously a joke. And also, it's best that he was quick and subtle, people don't know how to stop or let go of a situation.
@usucdik I legitimately did not hear Ethan say anything along the lines of "When I said 'I liked saying' that word in the iDubbz podcast' can you please tell me which podcast/when ethan addressed it? Sorry I'm not as enlightened as you to realize what is OBVIOUS and not when it comes to something very controversial. I'm not saying I'm any better than Ethan I was trying to offer my own insight as to why I think he's getting so much backlash because it was not a point that i think was represented well.
I'm a weirdo who enjoys Ethan's solo Podcasts. That being said, Dan single handedly made this one more entertaining with his random pop-in comments. In my opinion, you've never had a bad show 💪
Niko actually said he wanted to be on the podcast. And I think the "unfitness" of the guests can be very positive for the show, variety of subjects is what makes a podcast interesting in my opinion.
