I know for a fact They have these at the airport and they steal information from you devices at TSA when they tell you to separate your electronics and put them through a specific location.

I feel kinda weird asking this, but this is a tool for committing crimes, correct? This is a how-to for setting up a cable that an unsuspecting user would plug into their device only to have it record their keystrokes and upload malware to their phone, and the Wifi connection is for you to then surreptitiously upload that data without their knowledge? I mean, is there an actual, non-criminal use for this cable that I'm not seeing?

red-team penetration testing is what these cables are used for. Also for corporate user-based demonstrations, security awareness etc. If you want to use Hak5's products for malicious purposes, best of luck in prison lol!!! Not saying that they CAN'T be used for malicious intent.... just saying most won't because you can get in big trouble :) It's the same energy as "Oh look, you can go out in public and buy XYZ dangerous weapon. Yes, I will go out and purchase XYZ dangerous weapon. No I will not use XYZ weapon because it will land me in prison."
