Mala theevu is the original name and it was changed as Maldives (by British as they could not pronounce) . The original tamil Name Mala theevu (மால தீவு) means necklace island in tamil As it's a group of island form like a necklace. Tamil literature refers this island and it was ruled by tamil kings. So it belongs to india. India did not integrate it during independence. Now it has to be done.

@@rrsharizam Maldives or maala theevu in tamil belongs to us. It has been ruled by Hindus and Buddhists throughout. Look at the name Maala theevu is a tamil name. This place is mentioned in ancient tamil literature and ruled by ancient cholas, pandyas and other Indian clans. Arabs came to maala theevu in the 12th century and only after the 18th century is started to become Islamic. So maala theevu or maldives as the British call is Indias place. During partition, the British proposed only 3 countries india, pakistan and srilanka and nothing else and every region had to become part of one of these three. So Maldives has to be integrated with india. It's a pending job and will be done soon and will be added as a union territory of india . Don't worry.

Lol the world should start getting used to 2024, they still seems to be living in 1940s and 50s when India was kind of weak, although even at those times it was a critical world player, but now it has evolved itself into a confident power, and hopefully soon to be a super power next to the US. Technically India has all the capacities that top 3 countries in the world US, Russia and China has, putting it into the best 2nd in many places, and best 3rd, because Russia is being declining, US is declining too, but is still not behind India. Just living in the present would benefit them a lot. India is like a sleeping lion, very peaceful when left undisturbed, but make a mistake of thinking it as just another cat, and you'll be facing the mighty beast.
