The equipment used here is a Nady Systems U-1100 UHF wireless mic kit, and a UV-5R Baofeng radio. The mic systems operates on a tunable frequency with the default set at 480 MHZ, which is within the range of the baofeng radio (a $25 radio you can get off of ebay). There does not appear to be any sort of PL tone, so this means your wide open to punch in the frequency and go. Side note, the baofeng being a 5 watt radio, you can easily dominate a wireless mic of this brand. One thing I observed is that the DB throughput from the baofeng was remarkably lower than that of the mic it self. Perhaps the bandwidth is wider on the mic it self... I really did not look in to it that deep... Disclaimer: This is for demonstration purposes only, such transmissions can be illegal per FCC regulations. This was done in a basement in the middle of nowhere, where effecting anyone or anything is impossible.
