instead of paying for the ability to set the partition id for EFI near the end of the tutorial, do this: open cmd prompt type "diskpart" (enter) in diskpart do this: "list disk" and type "select disk X" (replace X with disk number that your USB is) "list partition" and type "select partition X" (replace X with partition that EFI is at, should be 200MB) then finally, type "set id=c12a7328-f81f-11d2-ba4b-00a0c93ec93b" and it should hopefully work. you can close diskpart at this point and continue.

Hi, thank you SO MUCH for this guide, it was a seamless upgrade to Sonoma for me! (using Skylake). Question: I don[t see any update available in the System updates and I know Sonoma has been just fully released. How do we get them? I would like to leave the beta and get into the full macOS 14 (as Home is not working with the beta). Thanks a lot!

Hi, this tutorial is very interesting, I followed the procedure, when I restart the machine I arrive on the screen that proposes the installation but the mouse does not work (I tried with three different mice) and when I use the arrows on the keyboard the selection is very fast and it is impossible for me to select what I want. Do you have any idea where the problem might be coming from?

Maybe usb dongle WIFI&BT can work on Sonoma in somehow. I was trying no success and I found Sonoma not support usb wifi and BT cards. Is it possible to use as a WIFI and BT on VM?

You can access the efi partition by assigning a drive letter from mini tool and then open it from the explorer++

So i wasted 3h. in first time your howto works fine. after i want to integrate wifi kext in config.plist, changing the SMBIOS to my processor micro architectur and trying manny other options, there is no boot in the installation process. why i cant install sonoma if the SMBIOS is MacBookPro14,2? the only way is iMacPro1,1... why?????

whenever i boot the usb it stuck on: MACH Reboot. any fix? edit: i found the problem turns out i was using opencore 0.7.2 which released in october 2022 and i was trying to install monterey which released in november 2022 so i just upgraded my opencore and it worked

I wouldn't recommend it. Latest major OS update of OSX and Windows require stronger configuration and while its maybe possible to install it you will struggle with performance..
