Losing this minigame deletes your save and it gets slightly harder every time, and also scales in difficulty with the server you "lost" to also. I think this as a failure state is a cool game mechanic and it also has real-world parallels.

The time you're waiting for Porthack to go away so you can run Tracekill are hell.
If you read the notes and files of the EnTech computers, it mentions that the specific computer we hacked into(008) doesn't have inviolability because the employee was WFH due to heart problems. The same employee we euthanized in Project Junebug. If he wasn't ill, there would have never been a weak link in the first place and we would not have been able to get in. This is also why EnTech has Medical Ports all over the place - the records also mention that EnTech set up a connection to monitor his health from the workplace to call for emergency aid if something bad happens. Without those medical ports we wouldn't be able to use Porthack (like how we can't Porthack eOS devices due to lack of probeable ports). While we acknowlege his wish by ending his pain, it certainly leaves a bitter taste that we basically depended on his health condition to hack Entech...
Delta_STW5 Yup, the good ol' Honey x-server. I remember feeling so triumphant when I learned about the failsafe reset trick and used that to get it. I kept it as the active x-server the rest of the playthrough.
Fact: This is the track used in the full version of Hacknet, but there's another song that was used for the "OH SHOOT GOTTA CHANGE IP" moment in the BETA. It also wasn't a good animation. The full version used a better animation.

Resetting your IP while in the redline sequence resets your IP, literally, so all nodes that you had access to before no longer view your IP as administrator, so you either have to rehack ALL OF THEM, or pray that you remember the admin passwords. It's not the end of the world, but kinda annoying.

three droids who, heck, i didnt have enough time to process their names, standing on three 3.0 hunter droids.. a room 99 death plus, i died at room 98 a few runs before. twice
ironic how when you run out of time in randomly generated droids the song goes so hard with an alarm and stressing music and call it ''self destruct'' just for a tiny explosion on your character that kill you instantly

Today I heard this for the first time after making it to Atomic Factory. As someone who sucks at the game I was freaking out.. didn’t really help that we had a 2 minute timer
I remember how stressed I was the first time I heard this, I didn't even make it past 3 rooms, buuut HQ is honestly easier than skytop and now I purposely trigger the timer for fun because the world is a pushover without it, I won't forget the feeling of winning for the first time though.
Reasons you got here: 1. You got extremely lucky and got a 1 in 4,999,950 aura. (Sol's RNG) 2. You shut down the reactor, but the self destruct system is still on. (A core game) 3. literally just the actual game (Hacknet)

atleast hacknet and rgd makes you panic while hearing this for the first time, getting exotic:apex is literally less dopamine boosting than regular apex, Not even a screen crack like cmon atleast make it tense or something idk
i'm not even a hacknet player either but i'd still recommend, this game looks awesome (also you dont need to know linux commands beforehand even if it helps)

According to what I figured out in the game so far, it seems to be an OS developed by a Security Solutions Provider, along with a system (Invidability) that renders it useless. So all in all, its an advertising flick lol
delta, if it was really provided by security solution provider, they wouldn't have bugs, i think that it's a pirate that prated their mainframe before bit and us (maybe more of that in the labyrinth dlc coming soon)
