I cried... three times. I thought the trailer was cheesy. Even the first half of the film turned me off (I fell asleep the first time). Then someone begged me to finish it. That last half chocked me the fuck up - I have never seen the human spirit expressed so beautifully. Only in my dreams did I believe it possible for man to be THAT good. Humanity is, inherently good.

See, the thing is, the dude actually did _all_ those things _in_ _real_ _life._ The man _actually_ kicked a live grenade, got hit by the shrapnel, came across a wounded soldier on the way back, swapped places with him, and _crawled_ on his belly back to home base. And got shot, and survived. All while _not_ carrying any weapons. Hollywood toned him down to just the grenade-kicking, because they knew they'd get laughed at for being unrealistic by people like Korey.

Seriously, people need to do Serious research about something before they talk about it. Man, this is so disrespectful. Tell that to those that Mr. Doss had saved - them and their families.

Steppen03 Thank you! This movie wasn't anywhere near as amazing as the true story, but damn if it still wasn't awesome! They even left out how he saved ANOTHER soldier after he kicked the grenade out of the way and got all fucked up. May he rest in the peace he deserves.

Samantha Davis They mentioned some stuff about it. What are you talking about? Yeah, they didn’t mention what he did, but this is about the movie. I think mentioning some of that stuff also means spoiling the movie!!

You only get blown up with a grenade if it’s right by you. He kicked it by a fucking miracle. But it throws shrapnel. The fact his leg wasn’t almost blown up was the miracle.
