not sure if you are aware but he was the winner of Australian Idol 20 years ago in 2003 and that is how he was discovered and rose to fame not by singing on a construction site and was noticed. Whoever told that to you gave you completely false info and i am sorry they did that. Angels Brought Me Here was the song written for and sung by the winner..A.K.A Guy Sebastian...Runner up of the show was Shannon Noll. There is plenty of videos on You Tube of his Australian Idol Audition and Journey. Check em out if you are up for doing so. None the less Guys Sebastian is talented and has an amazing voice, so glad you love him as much as most Aussies do, like me. Just to add a little bit more info, he was a music teacher and sang in a choir at the Paradise Church in Adelaide , South Australia. He was studying to be in the medical field in some way or another but left to pursue his music career, he never was working in construction as far as i am aware

Guy Sebastian breath control is the best in the world. He's a master. It's not edited ever. He's special, like John Farnham - they have the best voices in Australian history of music. John Farnham is the 'voice' and Guy is the best vocalist with john. Angels definitely brought them to Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺💜💜💜

We have been lucky enough to listen to Guy now for 20 years. Still brilliant to this day. Those nay sayers who say that talent shows can not produce fine musicians, well this would show testament that they can! He can write songs, produce them, play multiple instruments, and sing like an angel. ❤

How could he not 'feel the love' from his devoted fans and he sends (sings) his love back to them. This was the winners song of Australia's first Idol competition winner in2003 which of course Guy won lol. A shy young man took on the challenge and Australia fell in love with him.

He was so dorky 20 years ago when he won Idol. This brings back memories. He has changed so much on the outside but he is still the beautiful dorky, cool soul we first met on Australian Idol. He has such a beautiful voice and is also a great songwriter. He is genuine and he was trying to hold back tears.

This was Guy's first huge hit 2003. We all know it. Great song. Guy's got to be one of the greatest singer/ writers on the planet. Awesome live performance.❤

This song was written for the winner of Australian Idol 2003, with each Grand Finalist(Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noel)performing their version; Guy's performance reflected his Christian upbringing, and his deep spiritual outlook on life.

As Guy says, at time of concert, it was 20 years ago he won Austrlaian Idol. The final was also performed inside the Sydney Opera House so not just the song but the location of when it all began for him. Which might account for the emotion.
