I don’t understand why people get dogs and then put 0 effort into working with them

That’s majority of the dog Community, that’s why dogs are top 3 killers of humans. People genuinely think behavioral training is optional when it’s absolutely mandatory. Heck even some Groomers are trash at ownership

I used to work as a dog groomer’s assistant. I saw that you included anal expression as part of the bathing routine. 😅 The groomer that I worked for wanted every dog expressed. Their, the doggos, reaction to having it done is comical sometimes. Some don’t react like the dog she just tried to groom. Others whip their head around to ask WTH you’re doing back there. Some even acknowledge how very stinky anal gland juice can be. It sprays when it comes out, hence doing it in da tub. The spurt scares them sometimes. I loved that job. But had to give it up bc I didn’t earn enough. Went into the hospitality industry. Then ended my career at Petsmart. Let’s all grab our pets and go peruse a heavenly retail store dedicated to pets all day everyday. You’re called pet parents there. You’re encouraged to use the many ‘oops stations’ around the store. But only do it if an employee is watching, ok? 😅

That’s ridiculous! Owner clearly put 0 effort into this dog. Also clueless as there’s no need to shave this dog I know what MB is doing it coz that’s what the owners asked for

Funny what dogs will react to. A lot of dogs are not keen on a blower and she had no trouble at all. Her coat was gorgeous after the bath. With sheer persistence and kindness you still got worthwhile progress. Thank you and a smart call to just go on to other dogs.
