I just sent this guide to my 65 year old dad who just started playing. We’ve never been able to play games together so we set up a live stream on his RU-vid account so I can walk him through it lol. He hasn’t games since pong came out.
@@robdood2 i think folk should smash shades and figure out the basics themselves before looking up guide right? to each their own, but that has to be the developers intended experience, to atleast die a few times before youtube...gamers are different these days.
@@robdood2 you definitely got an audience for the tutorials! I defnitely agree figuring stuff out is part of the magic. Which is why i stopped myself before watching boon combos as I want to see all the crazy combos I would have avoided.
Mate, this is the BEST Hades introduction for beginners I've watched - and I've watched many. The others seem to put too much into it and go too fast. Your pacing was just right, and amount of content digestible. Thanks so much, as it's going to be my first time playing Hades (I'm not a rogue-like gamer, but this looked interesting enough for me to give this a go). Thanks again for your most excellent video. Subscribed!
I’ve just started out with Hades and have never played this genre before. I keep coming back to this guide. Good basics explained in a simple way without giving away too much.
This is EXACTLY the video that I was looking for. Clear, concise, and I found your voice very pleasant to listen to. Thank you, sincerely, for making this, and please keep up the phenomenal work and take care. 🤙
If you activate a treasure chest in a room but then leave really quickly, Zagreus will have a funny bit of dialogue. He will say “bye bye!” Or “oops gotta go”. Little details like that are delightful
I just started playing hades( I know I’m late). I’ve been looking for a good beginners guide, and this is it. One of the best guides I’ve seen for any game.
Oh man, this is one of the best guides I've ever seen, honestly. Not only informative, but also without any spoilers. And as someone has already pointed out, the voice over is pleasant to listen to. Cheers, mate! You got yourself a new sub!
Thanks for this, I'm in a strange situation whereby I can tell that it's an excellent game, but I feel that I'm not playing it correctly. This guide helped a lot
I was looking through a dozen "starter tips" videos for Hades here on YT and all were far too heavy on easy understanding. This video was PERFECT. Thanks Man - subbed.
Didn’t know you could destroy projectiles with your basic attack. That explains how some levels seemed impossible to get through only dashing to dodge...
Just got this game without knowing too much about it and was worrying I was dying too much, but this guide has helped me feel a bit better lol. Thanks for the tips!
Thank you so much. You gave a great little insight without spoiling. Perfect for a beginner like me. Also, you voice and way of talking is extremely nice. Very genuine and fresh. Cudos!
This guys voice reminds me of Gordon Ramsay's cooking help videos but it's here its for games. Love it! Just got Hades and loving it. Thanks for the help
You honestly deserve WAY more subscribers. Your information is always great, and very well delivered. Not only that, but your voice is very soothing/relaxing. Rooting for your future success! Keep up the great work!
Been thinking about getting this but since im not a gamer, i’ve been having doubts. But seeing your video made me go and buy it 🙈 hopefully i enjoy the game and at least have some fun! Thanks for the helpful video 😄
Thanks so much for this, well explained and thorough without spoiling the things that are best discovered on your own. I can't think of the last game I played that was as instantly and completely compelling as this, "just one more go" doesn't do it justice at all as you're always thinking about how much progress you can make with three or four more tries!
I disregarded the cast for almost 15 hours of gameplay. I wasn't getting good boons, and preferred dash striking. Now I realize nearly EVERYTHING is useful
Thank you very much. You gave enough information to be helpful without giving away so much that it took the fun out of discovering. One of the best Player's Guides I've seen.
i literally just downloaded it. i dont normally play these kinds of games but this one seems intriguing to me. this little guide helped a bit thanks 👍👍
I recently bought the game (haven't had the chance to play yet due to exams) and this was really helpful! I don't really play these types of games so this was a very helpful video to ease me into the game and know what to expect! thanks
Great to see you branching out and covering other games. Never heard of this Hades game before but it sure looks interesting. Don't think I've ever played a rougelike before, might be a genre to delve into sometime...
First time I’ve subscribed from one video. I like your presence, you have an interesting way of speaking. I think your enjoyment of the game really comes through as you speak and it’s really encouraging. Cheers.
Thanks! Just downloaded the game yesterday, but I didnt get/found any tutorial at all? Not sure if it just me? So this video was essential for instead of just random using skills/attack with no clue of what I was doing.
Genre is important because I was looking for this exact type of game and I found it by searching the venn diagram of genres. Genre is taxonomy, which we need.
It is useful, yes, but it can also be a constraint. I did genre theory at university, you know! Besides, I did say 'sometimes' genres feels a bit pointless!! :P
Great guide. I bought Hades last night and played about an hour. Other than the mirror and it's upgrading, I hardly knew any of the other things in this video. I get a developer wanting the player to go into the game blind, but basic inventory mechanics on such a "non-standard" game would be helpful. Such as giving the gold ball things to the npc's for a helpful item. I did that and got a cloak of some sort from Nyx. No idea what it did or where it went. Now I know.
To be fair when I replayed the beginning to capture footage, it does give you 'quest text' at the top left of the screen which tells you thing like 'give nectar to an npc' and 'look in the keepsake cabinet'.. They're just clearly not very apparent cos I didn't properly notice them the first time! Hope you enjoy, it's my goty 2020 for sure.
Was on the fence which platform to get it on but with the special edition on the Switch being announced I'm finally decided and ready to get started! Very helpful and spoiler-free, thanks! I think I'll like it even more than Gungeon.
Well researched and presented Mr 👍 just got the game on switch and have been desperately seeking a clear breakdown. I’ve forwarded this link to some gamer industry friends.
Man I wish I had someone as supportive as you in my life lol great video. I'm stuck with the second phase of Hades, can't beat him. Hopefully I will, soon.
Try to evade his swing attacks and as soon as you hear that sound that appears before he does those laser beams, immediately take cover behind one of the boulders so you won't get hit. Hope that may helps.
I can also highly recommend to get back all your darkness for a key in the mirror as soon as you unlocked all the mirror upgrades and then just level up the ones you're using. The last 2 or 3 can give you up to 40% chance to get rare and up to 20% to get epic boons and death denial x3 is also a must. (Just in case you haven't done that yet)
@@swizzywaffles2478 death defiance is definitely the best , I didn't know we could get more than one chance! It's my dumb playstyle that gets me killed, because by the time I take cover behind the pillars the damage it's done. To unlock the rest of the mirror upgrades I need to collect 30keys. I admit I got so sidetracked romancing Thanatos that beating Hades wasn't priority... But now it is. I'll focus on getting a lot of damage attacks then?
@@ThePress00 Yes you get it 3x and I think you can even get a fourth from a boon or so, not sure. And yes of course, high dps is everything in this game. Just hide behind those pillars till the beams are gone and keep dealing damage after or activate a call that makes you invincible like Athena or ares meanwhile. Last Run I used the rail with the 300% special damage upgrade combined with demeter boon and the 3 burst shot upgrade combined with zeus attack. Almost got a new record.
Thanks! I want to like the game: combat is great fun, but I no idea what I am doing or how to progress. Will play again now and pay more attention. Subbed!
@@ThePress00 I gave it another try and got pretty addicted the last days lol. But I think it's definitely not enough content to keep me playing for long. Already got a 21 minute run and I'm still a noob 😄
@@swizzywaffles2478 if you consider yourself a n00b idk what you'd call me lol I got "the hang“ of most of the game by my 50tsh ish run lmao 🤦 Good luck in your runs!
@@ThePress00 yeah it's pretty hard to get a good setup sometimes. One of the most OP things imo is the bow with the quick fire upgrade combined with an attack boon like zeus or ares. Deals tons of dps and all you have to do is hold down the attack button lol. Thx mate you 2!
Zagreus is actually the God of Blood. He is closely associated with Dionysus. He is born of Zeus and Persephone. But Hades took him in as a step-son. Nyx is the primordial goddess of the night long before The Titans or The Olympians. It is odd that the game has Nyx in the storyline.
