Just recently started playing Hades, great game, great soundtrack, gameplay and story!!! Well done!

@Baxi Tabaxi Honestly I was in stitches when zagreus says to Hades "he was the only hero you could get to sign onto this wasn't he?" I'm extremely glad they managed to really capture Theseus's douchebag essence in this game, he fuckin deserves it.

Thing is, the game teaches you how to fight Asterius before you ever meet him. The chariots are practice.

It actually made scared me shitless when Asterius still chased me even when i dashed on the other side of a pillar

There are certain things that proper Hades etiquette expects of you in each run. These expectations are as follows: *1.* You must pet Cerberus after every run, whether successful or failed. *2.* You must ensure that the Red Shade is aware of your immense respect for him following every arena battle in Elysium. *3.* You must give Nectar and/or Ambrosia to everyone you come across, as long as it is within your power to do so. If everyone is maxed out, you must always visit Sisyphus in Tartarus whenever the option arises and give Bouldy Nectar.

I still love the theory that the Red Shade is Ariadne, who's been waiting to watch someone beat Theseus down for a very long time.

@@SagaAsellus in the myths, he was a hero for a long while, and he had a code: he would only kill people the way they tried to kill him, after they tried to kill him. so after he killed asterius, with his own horn of course, he abandoned ariadne, asterius' brother, who helped him beat asterius, he abandoned her on an island and got with her sister, and then he accidentally killed his dad and became king of athens, and the fame and power went to his head and he met a friend who was a bad influence on him, and started killing random people, and then he tried to kidnap a child, because a prophocy said she would be hot some day. that is messed up. guess he still got into elysium tho. oh, and dionysus found ariadne on the island and married her and turned her into a god

Use extreme measures 3, it's harder but trust me by gods it is also extremely worth it

@@Somersalsa Definitely! But I'm well past that, sadly. I've even gotten the dialogue from Achilles mocking the mask and the one where you do extreme measures and then go back to normal in the next run, I think it's dried up.

Well, the ending of the game made me cry but this....

I would argue the lyre is more noticeable, just like how Asterius has a much larger presence in the fight, whereas Theseus is just throwing spears at you somewhere in the background.

Nah, those instruments are featured on pretty much on all of the tracks on the OST. They have nothing to do with Asterius and Theseus.

If you still need help, here are some tips: I found it easier to kill Asterius first, as Theseus gets a lot stronger when he hits half health. Theseus is a pain at range, but hit and run tactics work well against him - dash behind his shield, deal some hurt, and get out before he uses his spear slash

The fact you beat up Asterius first means he's missing some hp at the start of the main boss fight.

Did you beat them?

I prefer to beat theseus first. His ranged and boon powers are such a pain. Afterwards it's easy to take on Asterius.

Theseus puts a lot of effort into _his_ exposed midsection!

How do you even kill him first? Having to deal with both the minoutar and the gods seems hard

@@andreadangelo2299 difficult but possible, I just try to dodge Asterius since I'm familiar with his attacks then summon my companion before Theseus could call the gods. Honestly, the reason to kill Theseus first is to just mock him and not have the chance of him getting the killing blow on me, but tried n true is to finish Asterius first.

@@andreadangelo2299 i always kill Theseus first lmao. Just use blade rifts. They absolutely shred him. Also Thanatos

@@andreadangelo2299 I do it by accident sometimes. Theseus moves very slowly and relies mostly on his shield so if you have big aoe damage that isn’t affected by shields it’s hard not to kill Theseus first. Asterius will run/ jump away, but Theseus will just sit there getting blasted by my Dionysus conjure, or rail upgrade that makes the blast huge, and 5x as strong, but also self damaging. As for dodging Theseus blasts it with the Minotaur alive it depends on which god he calls. Artemis is by far the easiest. The others feel the about the same to me.

I've been asking myself that since Bastion came out and I still don't have an answer.

I will say the song surviving Exile in pyre is weak because it is so good it distracts me from reading. You have to pause reading when that Riff kicks in.

Funny thing is that even regarding gameplay, the fact that you have to slalom between pillars to avoid fighting both at once made me think of O&S

@@lred1383 I went to listen to No Remorse, and I'm not happy with that analysis. No Remorse is more like "my first metal riff", with a descending natural minor scale and a pedal point on the bottom. It lacks the characteristic chromaticism (the nondiatonic aka out of scale notes) that gives the riff its dark quality. MoP on the other hand has exactly that.

Based on the NoClip documentary I kinda feel like Thesseus was an afterthought. Internally they called it "the Minotaur fight" pretty much right up until launch. I think you are, in every way, supposed to not think much of Thesseus.

@@MrAskmannen He IS the easiest, but the first time I fought them, I targeted him first and had to deal with him + Asterius + the gods.

The beginning at least is the DOOM theme in the style of Hades music with some two or three notes changed... As a fan of both soundtracks, let me say this is excellent buildup to the second part of this song. OOOH, the electric guitar part. Shivers down my spine. Excellent as always. Here's hoping the gameplay will be just as exhilarating as DOOM's!

he's done multi-instrumentalist ever since bastion. there are some heavier riff in bastion and particularly pyre features a few heavier tracks such as thrash pack and knights of the sea.

Hades is the Metal Hell Greek Odyssey ost, and I'm all here for it

Pyre had some simple electric guitars in the Dissident's themes, and Bastion has some guitar mixes
