Is the D6 by any chabce OM606 "King Diesel"? If it is, make it a "superturbo"...put a good turbo in it (Holsett), tune the injection and voila,,,.300 hp easily...and the engine can take it...dunno 'bout the rest of the vehicle though....
But the whole point of them having that "old" engine is maintenance. Do you have a hope in hell of fixing anything on a new CDI? Isn't it all electronics on that?
+Gnawer Shreth Ask the manufacturer now selling the new BVS10 Beowulf with turbo diesel engine as well.....also to military. Obviously turbo diesels do not need that much maintenance as you fear ;-)
