Magnus Ver Magnuson was a discuss thrower , throwing shot put to the back is similar to the vertical throw and it is a must exercise to all olympic throwers , what Hafthor showed u is explosive to release and jump with it at the same time , I think it is a very good idea to train with a shot put thrower just to learn the explosive mechanical movement of the back throw with a shot put then vertical throw is going to be so easy for u , Robert Oberst was a shot putter maybe u can learn allot from him as well , all the best to both of u Martin and Hafthor what a great sportsmanship

It seems to me that Thor's height and extra arm length give him a huge advantage over Martins when it comes to bag toss. He has a higher release point and a bigger arc which gives him more time to increase the momentum of the bag.

Thors tip is similar to what i think would help you improve your throwing a lot which is clean pulls.. you should utilize your strengths which is power and technique.. clean pulls from the floor will get you improving that power and motion.. its such a similar motion to throwing... if you are doing clean pulls with 200+ kg ripping them from the floor then a 50kg bag is gonna feel like air.
