After listening to Hafu's interview with Dan where she talks about how people find every excuse in the book to discredit her gaming abilities during competitions, the moment when NL corrects the COF host and says to give credit to Hafu for beating him instead of the AI, means so so so so so much more and may have actually made me cry a lil bit.

It still makes me laugh internally that any of the COF staff thought chat was toxic. The sheer depths of depravity that twitch chat can go makes the nlss chat look like a well of wholesomeness.
Yeah. Even folks like Day9, who is like a more adult/less juvenile NL for me, have worse chats than do the NLSS. Day9's chat frequently has ASCII penises and that is with perma-subscriber only mode on. It's easy to forget that the NLSS chat is the way they are *without* sub-only mode on, but that's quite something.
Honestly, NL probably has like one of the best communities in twitch atm. It still doesn't change the fact that there are a few bad eggs around. Especially during the second day of COF when these two guys were just spamming the same meme from the first day essentially covering up the entire chat. Probably gave a few of the staff from COF a bad taste of the community. Also, NL even mentioned how on twitter someone was bad mouthing the host from COF (minion baby host) and the person badmouthing was following him on twitter.
Archiie The people going to twiter and being dicks are just that, dicks. It just rattles me how some people can form an opinion about a whole chat based on a few bad eggs. I Like to think that we, as chat, are the near perfect mix of rude dudes and meme kings. I could be wrong though.

Dude, I've said it once and I'll say it one million more times. It's a bit self-congratulating because I'm part of it, but Ryan has cultivated the perfect fanbase. The fact that the Twitch chat usually has so many people in it, yet with so little toxicity is incredible, and that fact is due to little else other than NL and the various co-hosts/guests just attracting generally good-natured people.
NL knows how to not bring the conversation into places that attract the immaturity you see on so many other channels. The worst thing you're going to find in his entire fanbase are the people with infinitely delicate sensibilities.
Jack Riley I'm actually always blown away when, during sub streams, people aren't just spoiling games left and right. Like Beyond: Two Souls currently. Watched for 2 hours and not a single spoiler besides "overlay" or "incoming shower scene" which are fair plays in my book
Ryan is scared Hafu's gonna take offense to something he's going to say. Meanwhile, Hafu makes a whole video straight from Twitch, basically making fun of herself.
Due to time constraints, I'm not able to watch hours upon hours of NL content a week like a used to do years ago. Really appreciate videos like this that catch me up on everything for when I do get to catch the streams every once in a while. Thanks Egor, 'preciate ya!
Admittedly, I don't know too much about the whole situation, but anyone who listens to 'I Ran' by 'A Flock Of Seagulls', is friendly towards Egg and the crew, isn't afraid to instantly answer stupid hypothetical questions, and considers themselves a "trash human", gets a solid A+ from me. Godspeed, Hafu. And Dan's "HOFU" question slayed me.
I didn't watch the NLSS at all when I was in school, because I usually had classes running from 4-6PM, so I missed this entire Hafu situation. Now that I'm free, I've had to catch up on all of the lore that I missed over the past 8 months.
The only shit that the fanbase did that was kinda toxic was the whole Reddit thread shitting on NL for not being super into the idea at the beginning. I guess raiding hafu with that shit was kinda bad too.
Haha, so I've seen this noticed this video ever since it was uploaded and had saved it to watch later and just never got around to it. I finally got some time to watch it and imagine my surprise when I see my freaking comment in the video at 2:35! Props to you for the amount of time you put in to bring all the clips together for your videos, great job.

Still a better story than twilight, I kid but honestly great that it happened hafu is a really nice person and glad that people join nlss like hafu cobalt etc because it's a break from the norm for them and nlss is great anyway so just gets better for having them to round it out.
There’s something about rewatching this and reading the comments thats made me realize, NL and the gang have cultivated a great audience that seems so much less toxic than the average twitch audience. Maturity, self care, and acceptance are all things NL professes daily in videos and on stream, and I think its attracted a equally wholesome audience.
Idk why but when it comes to gaming, youtube especially twitch, any “serious” content is just cringy to me. Like this champions of fire marketing and adverts and don’t get me wrong - I hate Twitch chat memes and spam - but when I hear “16 players are gathering for the 2016 champions of fire tournament” I can’t help but picture a Kappa or OmegaLuL
