What I love about these is that there is often a very slight hint of social friction, like you can tell sometimes a character like the mustard guy will feel uncomfortable but not speak up, but the boys immediately smooth it over and make them feel included. So well raised
I can tell Joe has worked in service industry before because that scenario with the mustard guy was exactly something that happens and not just the scenario but the way he conveyed it was perfect
Just realized the way he flips the burger in the beginning, then touches it for a second is the exact same way the dad does in episode two. Great little detail, they love their dad so much.
You know... I lost my wife to breast cancer 2 years ago and I literally don't have the words to express what this series means to me. I have 2 kids, 10 and 12 years old and the three of us are just trying to survive. Your videos make us laugh and I can't tell you how much that means to me.
Look, I don't pretend to get these cartoons at all, cause i don't. I do find them oddly compelling, but not wholesome. Absurdist maybe. All the wholesome behavior though is from bizarre, ugly characters. The wholesome behavior is weird and easily mocked. There are worms crawling out of the fucking meat.
@@junkequation Haha nah I think you get it. The "wholesomeness" is just one side of the coin. I think what makes it work is the way this bizarre assemblage comes together, the reaction you feel taking in this pastiche of tones; heartfelt, corny, creepy, ugly, etc. It keeps you guessing and guarded, like something is going to go horribly wrong at any moment. Something about that is really funny when it's applied to these big dumb boys whose lives revolve around supporting and revering their dad (tim allen lol)
@@aceofspadesguy4913 It's the paradox of our times, which is victory through defeat. Only after dying on the hot grill of life can we truly liberate our soul from the bondage of self.
Actually at the end of a lot of the episodes involving discussion of the dead mother, something will move indicating she's haunting around. This time the meat sprouted maggots because she's doing that......I think.....
This series has been such a breath of fresh air. With so much loud and in your face comedy online now, it’s refreshing to see that there are still great Dads out there who manage to raise three great sons.
in a perfect world more animated adult comedy would be akin to sick animation, zach hadel and joe cappas work, and not “the joke is that we look family friendly, but we say fuck *AND* talk about sex!”
This series is really about three well raised boys holding it together to help get their father through the grief of losing their mother. It’s beautiful
True. And itt also jokes about death. With paranormal phenomenon, as if the mother's presence around them is supernaturally manifesting more and more into physicality in a kinda horrifying way. But the truth is...he really did a heck of a job raising them 3 boys on his own.
But they didn't lose their mother, their mother will always be there for them and she's so proud of them and their father for raising those three wonderful boys
He’s also doing a heck of a job with this RELEASE schedule. What is this? An episode a day, five days in a row? Also, you may notice that I didn’t say “hell.” That’s because it’s MY job to protect you from that kind of language.
@@kgpspyguy But you still typed it out. Even as an example, you still failed us. But youno wut I'm jusgonna stop that tawk wight now becaws theah's no need to apollajaiz I do wealize dat issus dat owes u an apolidgy... an thassonus.
I can't stop rewatching this series. There's nothing else like it. I don't know if Mr. Cappa reads comments or what rights he retains having made this for adult swim, but I'd help fund a continuation in a heartbeat.
I’m just in awe of how Joe managed to capture so much emotion in such a short time. Dad really had me in my feels but knowing how good of a job he did raising those three boys made the sadness all worth it.
Somehow i think that their mom died with some help of their dad. Or maybe i am just overthinking, it's hard to tell cause of overall style. I can't really explain why it makes me feel like there is a catch somewhere.
Couldn't be happier for the boys about their new shoes. Couldn't be happier for Joe as well. Hope Adult Swim is taking care of you and paying you the big bucks❤
I love how they look a lot like Air Monarch ivs, and how the boys love to dress like their Dad and act like their Dad, so they are all wearing Dad shoes.
must be tryin to equal out the weird shit he makes lol. it’s gotta take a toll on you. im a fan of both styles still. these odd type video creators usually never make anything wholesome so these clowns are a bizarre thing that bring me comfort. i mean, it’s not easy raising 3 boys. 🥺
Loving the daily releases. Something big seems to be building. Things are getting more tense each episode. Scaring dad with the VR. Now maggots out of the vegan patties. There is a hidden darkness with this family unfolding.
I love that Eric Wareheim was the uncle a few episodes ago. I love how absolutely shredded these wonderfully raised, gestalt languaged, idiomatic speaking boys are.
The way preston and the guys see that dad is embarrassed and immediately jump in to validate and comfort him is so wholesome. He sure did a fantastic job raising those three boys.
This will be the part where the series takes a dark turn I bet. He actually says "haha, you clowns" and then it cuts to a dark scene of maggots crawling out of the burger in an otherwise wholesome series
wholesome... i guess when nature and nurture come together perfectly to produce meathead clowns that 100% expresses themselves in cliché... they have a wholesome time.
This is perfectly insanely 90’s cheese, but damn I’d love to be 17yo again and live an absurd life like this with 2 loving brothers, a dad, girlfriends for us all and the supernatural spirit of my mom.
Joe is edging us with tiny hints of creepiness but overwhelming us with wholesome content that will help us be raised into fine young men as we get older. Bring it in guys.
As someone who lost their mom a while back this series makes me smile and doesn’t make me uncomfortable at all, man I wish my family acted as wholesome as these guys lol
These episodes are so weird...but yet so very very good. I love them because I can't ever put my finger on why they raise a smile. I can't decide if I'm laughing at them or with them. They balance on that line so expertly. May this series run and run.
I’m glad they got a chance to visit Preston while he’s working, he’s doing such a good job even though he’s just starting out. He did a heck of a job raising those boys
“Alrigh Dad time for us to go to church” “Alright boys, let’s go” “Woah dad, your shirt is full of holes, don’t we need to wear our Sunday best?” “Well that’s because this is my Holey Shirt son” “Haha oh my gawld dad that was a good one, you’re fricken hilarious dad, mom would be so proud hahah”
Not enough people are talking about the horror element throughout the series. This is genuinely chilling when you look at it through the lens of the hints given to us throughout the series. The maggots in the burger.
can we just take a moment to appreciate dad and the boys bought preston a pair of shoes as well from foot locker. what a great dad thinking of his son.
@@ba2908Maybe it was volume boosted in the final cut, but it was present equally loudly in the whistles episode of both versions. For some reason it's only missing in this one... I wonder if Joe thought it was overkill and took it out? No idea.
I love the people saying how sweet and genuine this show is, and the other people saying its unsettling and sinister. That sort of split in interpretation is an amazing achievement
The gnostic angst of the facade of wholesomeness with an ever present undercurrent of satanic unease was almost as good as the job that dad did raising those boys.
Can't believe he referenced the three amigos! The mishap of the father saying the eight of us was spot on and the worms crawling out of the patties just brought everything together. Love this series!
I'm a triplet, and my mother died when I was 8 from heart comp in her sleep, these hit home, except im the boy of the 2 girls. Love these ❤ my dad's a great guy too
how are you suddenly able to release like 4 episodes in 2 days?? feels like christmas. also- love how wholesome these videos are, but always with an uneasy "wtf" undercurrent somewhere in it.. LOVE IT
Every time I see one of these I wanna be nervous about the subtle paranormal stuff going on, but damn it, I just can’t get over how well he raised those three boys all on his own
I know right. My heart balances on the line of wanting them to be happy that they can contact their mom despite her death. And well the strange implications of their moms control of things beyond space and time. She defies the natural order, but without her little quirks, they would be heart broken without her.
