I like the ending of the ghost dogs being able to carry on to the afterlife once the Roomba was stopped. Not because they were avenged from having being killed in the basement, but because the scary vacuum was finally vanquished.

in this short you captured what draws me to xenofiction - the stark contrast between the horrors of the world and the fantasy of hoping your innocent, helpless protagonist is just clever enough to make it out okay. the psychedelic scene also strongly reminded me of a lot of my memories as a very heavily dissociated child. the fast movement, the flashes of some recognizable objects but not being able to make sense of them, the feeling like you can’t stop anything that’s happening or understand it at all. it’s the intimate blend of the home and the horror of not understanding what’s going on inside of it even though you live there. super well done. i got chills.

I am more talking mainstream art. Look at the music and the movie industry. It is all very predictable. Popular music is generic, almost as if it is written by AI. Movies are remakes that play it very safe, or they are based off of something that was already written (comic books). You can’t tell me that this isn’t true. Look at the design of cars; they all look the same! Look at the sculptures and statues put up nowadays. They are abstract and weird and not beautiful in the least. At least, this work is different. And causes emotions. I’m not saying there isn’t other stuff out there, it’s just refreshing to see something absolutely different.

I saw a snippet of your work through reddit, and a link in the comments directed me to one of your shorts... But this, homie? Whole 'nother level. The pacing of the storyline, the perspective shifts, the absolute *fever dream*, and even the storytelling itself is top notch. The dog-ghosts manifest the wormman's because they want the new pup to live long, and they all hide in the basement because that's their final resting place... I assume the new dog fell down the stairs at one point, and we don't see that happening because it wakes up upside-down, presumably losing its memory. The funny little dog destroys the canine effigy and returns upstairs, but only after the real beast is slain can the spirits move on... *the robot vacuum*. The spirits don't have any resentment towards their owners because they're dogs; they can't hate their owners.

The movement of the dog is absolutely perfect. As someone who owns hound dogs and their puppies, it’s upsettingly how it is.

Hey Joe, I wanted to tell you that I really like your content without a big fake story about overcoming alcoholism or the recent death of someone no one else cares about. You've been putting out some great stuff and I've really enjoyed it.

@greatcesari "Authentic Narcissist" was a favorite poem that my grandmother used to read me before bed as a child. Ever since she recently died fifteen years ago, I've been playing Joe's videos back to back to help me sleep instead of plunging to the bottom of a bottle every night like usual.

While we're all throwing praise at this guy, I just want to say that I love Haha You Clowns, there is something absolutely rib tickling about the type of person Joe portrays with the brothers and how he does it. Just that as the fundamental core of those shorts absolutely does it for me, if that's all the shorts were I'd be happy - but then the relationship with their dad just adds a whole other layer ontop of that Just ~chef' kiss~ perfection, new favorite subscription, really looking forward to whatever else is in the works, especially after this one!

Sick animation, a cartoon fans cartoon, loved the pacing of the story and the little details in the audio. Watched most your videos since I got recommended a short earlier tonight. You've really captured the washed out anxious LSD trip vibes with your attention to animating in those lil manerisms that we all have but are ignored by fans of filters and faking the funk, in an attempt to dilute reality... Great work Joe!

Before everyone of my nightmares as a kid I used to chase a squirrel down and endless hallway with endless doors until it inevitably chose a door and thus transporting me to my nightmare scape. The hallway and the running after the squirrel was never scary but after I went into any door that's when it changed. That is the first time I've ever seen this in (any form) in an animation done so reminiscent of my childhood night terrors.
