I actually shipped her with Tanado but the only reason she didn't stay with him is because he didn't want marriage. Also, I like Haida but he was freaking annoying in that season like I know he was going through shit but he also kept hiding his feelings for Retsuko and I'm just like 'omg just say you love her already' =w=

That’s what makes the show great above all other romance bullshit, it’s so complex and takes forever. Very realistic. Not everyone is gonna fall in love at the same time and date a week later. Usually it’s common for girls to get very shy about asking guys out, but this time it’s a guy. And it’s super hard for him. I LOVE it.

the only reason I would want a 5th season now is to see if they can redeem themselves. If they make a genuinely good 5th season, then I'm all for it. Seeing as they are slowly digging themselves in a hole, I'm pretty reluctant :(

@@spaghettisheepdog I hope that by next season they improve again too. I love this show and even in the 4th season some stuff was decent (specially the whole thing with Ton) but yeah... I think they runned out of good ideas or something. I still have a little glimmer of hope, I wasn't expecting anything from the 3rd season and ended up being my favorite

I think what Haida needs to stand a chance at getting things right with Retsuko is a long break from her. Spend a long time away, like a year or two, and come back with a fresh set of eyes and a renewed outlook on who she is as a person and what he wants in a relationship. You're right that Haida's been chasing after Retsuko for so long now, and they've both changed a lot in that time frame, but he is still looking at her through the original rose colored glasses he put on when he first started liking her. I think he needs some distance to reset. Say he got sent on a business trip overseas for a while, and couldn't keep in touch with Retsuko easily because timezones. When he came back, there would be an instant comparison to make between how he remembers her to how she is when he returns, and the same will happen with Retsuko. Their relationship would be restructured based on how they both feel about the current Haida and Retsuko, rather than struggling with Haida's awkward crush and fear of screwing the relationship up mixing with Retsuko's general romantic indifference towards Haida and persisting only off of momentum and proximity. Agreed, he'd be better off getting with Fenneko, she's someone who doesn't mind Haida being himself and actively encourages him to be himself plus she's got his best interest at heart and it's obvious she has some sort of feelings for him based on SEason 3's bar scene where she drinks herself into saying that "The battle wasn't supposed to end like this."

"Could have swept in" I don't think it's really appropriate to insert yourself romantically while someone is actively suffering

She feels that people she dates do not know who she really is. So I also can see how it can irritate her when she sees her co-worker being all like "Hey I know you, I love you, I wanna marry you"
