You guys aren't understanding what's the biggest problem here. It's not about Gabby being confused about what she wanted. It's because she made clickbait and made it seem like Guy Tang ruined her hair when he didn't. That's the biggest controversy here. She threw Guy Tang under a bus in order to get views.
Exactly what I was thinking!!!! She is making ppl with anxiety look bad by doing that. It was super rude and obviously uncalled for since the whole video she defended guy but that title was like "oh he ruined it I hate it"

Ashley Beach its not that she didn't like it. She loved it, but her hair is her safety cover and the bright 'look at me' colors were giving her anxiety and panic attacks.
I totally get that and that part of the video was absolutely fine. What wasn't fine was her titling the video "I hate my new hair" It was rude and unfair to Guy who did an amazing job. This is coming from someone who 1. loves Gabbie with all her heart and 2. also deals with major anxiety. You just can't use your anxiety/mental illnesses as an excuse for bad behavior. You can't be so disrespectful and then say Oh well I have anxiety so I get a pass. Doesn't work like that.
Kailey Mingo agreed, she titled the video as Click Bait, but IN the video she actually went on to say how much she DID like her hair and how he did an amazing job- and how he actually offered to change it to anything she wanted when it surprised her by making her anxious. Guy is a responsible stylist, and has nothing to feel badly about for reuploading this piece of his work. As a fellow stylist, I know that anxiety about something like this potentially ruining your name, and I think it took a lot of guts for him to upload it at all, and then to take it down out of respect when she posted that video, and now to reupload it, now that things have settled down- without making it personal. Extremely professional. Totally support his decision.
Love her hair! I was confused why she was all drama about it at first. I know she has anxiety issues so it must have been a control thing but i saw her thumbnail and i thought it was kind of disrespectful towards you and it was almost like clickbait at your expense. It just makes me cringe when anyone says anything bad about your art. It looks so perfect I I wish I had the budget to get your wizardry on my head !
Jeni Schwartz she made a video on her channel called “hair disaster” or something like that, she’s changed the title a few times now. To the people who are defending her in the comments, just stop. I am sympathetic to anxiety, I have some sever issues with it myself. The way she initially titled the video and used it as clickbait to throw him under the bus is unacceptable regardless of the actual content of the video or how she feels about Guy himself.

Елена Федотова the problem I think for most people was the title of the video (which was something along the lines of 'hair disaster - I hate my hair) and the thumbnail was her with a hoodie on covering her hair, bawling her eyes out, so I think to most people it just seemed like clickbait
I’m so glad that Guy went ahead and uploaded this video especially after Gabbie making him seem like the bad guy. You can tell throughout the whole video that she knew exactly what was happening, how blonde she was going, Guy even said at the beginning “we’re going blonde”. Not once did she say “hey could you tone it darker, I’m uncomfortable being this blonde”. (I reckon if she had said it off camera the end result would have been different) I work in a hairdressers so I meet a lot of clients like gabbie day to day. That’s why it would take us 30 minutes to do a consultation each time to make sure we get the exact look and there aren’t any mistakes. But even then there are those people who would say they love it but change their mind. I don’t mind gabbie, been watching her for a while so yeah but I don’t agree with the fact that she decided to make an unnecessary video rather than speaking to her hairdresser. Hairdressers are doctors for the hair, you have a problem and we help you fix it

GeckoLover18 okay, so it’s totally okay for her to title the video how she hates her hair, make the video without asking guy tang if she can get it changed first, hurting guys credibility even if she says she loves him and thing. She could have asked guy for a re-colour first and when she’s having the recolour she can film then. Because guy wouldn’t look as bad because he would’ve taken her back into his seat quicker than you can say “here we go”.
He did offer to re-do it, she denied bc she did really love the colour, It was just the initial realization that she didn't have control of her "safety blanket" and gave control over to someone else, scared her. And before anyone says that shes let people cut her hair before for a video, she knew, at that time, that if it turned out bad it was ok bc she had the control over the situation, She couldn't help getting scared by letting him dye it though, Anxiety's a bitch, and I'm pretty sure she didn't mean any harm, yes, i agree the title should've been different but every RU-vidr uses Clickbait now a days, so it was kind of expected not to be about her "Hating the hair" and used it to get people to click, which again, almost every RU-vidr does at this point.
I love that you include the identity aspect in your brand. It's nice to know where you came from and what motivated you to create these marvels, and also to listen to everyone's stories. When we match our insides on the outside we feel more at home in the world and your whole brand is about giving that to people :-)
I'm sorry but I'm starting to get sick of Gabbie. The whole music thing she started has really noticeably inflated her ego. I have suffered with anxiety issues, I would never sit down and edit a video... Sit down and take a photo of me crying just to make a thumbnail. She is now a clickbait RU-vidr attempting a music career. I'm not going to sugar coat she is a very average singer and her personality is starting to annoy me. She is THAT friend.
TheMightyGosh she didn’t bash him. She said multiple times during the video, including at the start about how much she loved her hair and how guy did an amazing job. If you have anxiety, then you know how it can make you feel awful and think irrationally. Gabriel felt insecure with coloured hair. Not Guy’s fault, as Gabbie said multiple times

Ok, first, she did tell guy that she was having problems with the hair. He offered for her to come back in for him to fix it. But she wasn't sure what she wanted at that time, so she wanted to wait. Second, it wasn't the actual hair color, it was the change. Gabbie sees her hair as a big part of her identity, so changing it is hard for her, no matter how good it looks. She even said during her video multiple times she loves the color.
She never complained about guys work either. She said a bunch of times throughout the video she posted that it had nothing to do with guy, and more to do with herself

Yes it is. In her video she expressed that she wanted it to fade to the golden blonde she had before and she realized it wasn’t going to and she freaked. It was something beyond her control and she didn’t like that. I think the way she handled the situation was disrespectful. I understand anxiety, I have it as well, but I would never post something that I knew could hurt someone else and create a backlash

Disney Gamer oh Gurl Overtone saves lives!!! I used it when I first went purple, and it is amazing. All organic and cruelty free. One caveat, is that it produces a lot of buildup. So if you try to go white, after being pink or blue, it is hard to get out without a bleach rinse. Other than that, it is fantastic. The purple is the best color in their range(my opinion)

She wanted her hair to fade overtime from purple to a warm blonde (or the color she had before) but she realized afterwards that her hair was going to be cooler than she expected which is why she got upset, because it wasn't exactly what she had in her mind. Charli chan it wasn't necessarily that she hated how it turned out, she stated in the video that it was really her anxiety that got in the way of not liking the new color, that she had no control over what happened to her hair. She doesn't have beef with Guy or even hates how he does his work, her anxiety just got the best of her

You don't tell someone to do what they want, love it, then make a video in which the title itself says you hate your hair. Regardless of what she explains, regardless of her anxiety, she could have gone about it another way. She also says in her video she's not happy about the fade. She wanted golden blonde not a nearly white color. Which happens to be one of the reasons she hates it. I have watched the video. And frankly I'm disturbed so many people stand up for her. She says he hair is a safety net of sorts, something she can control. Yet, lets someone cut it for content. Sounds like someone who is just making a scene because content.

i love guy's personality, its so genuine. sometime i watch guy tang just to see him socialising with people. i love this video btw. looking back to the drama, guy doesn't seem to have any grudge, so professional. oh yeah, and his grown hair look awesome.
I watch your videos almost religiously to the point that all of my friends actually think I know what I'm doing. I'm not a professional and I'm not even sure I want to do this for a career but I enjoy watching these and getting ideas for my hair and for my friends. Thank you so much for making these videos because watching them has really helped me think of what I might want to do with my wife and I can seem like a smartass when it comes to hair, when my friends talk about dying their hair.
He literally said word for word "I'm going to put this in her hair so that when it fades, there won't be any gold tones". He was so specific and explained every single thing he did and why. Guy Tang is an iconic hair stylist, and his talk throughs are SO thorough. There is a responsibility on the client to be honest about what you want. Hair stylists are not mind readers.

I love your videos guy. You inspired me to let loose with my hair color and go purple. And to be completely honest Gabbie,I have never seen one of your videos before except when you are on here with your hair. You both have beautiful voices and everyone who comes on and talks about personal stuff always reminds me to be morr comfortable with who I am and what I look like. I appreciate everyone talking about it and it does make a big impact on people to hear that from someone that they look up to. Don't ever change who you are for anyone unless except for yourself.
