I had 4255 grafts done. At day 15 massive shedding started. Now I am at day 23 and pretty much all transplanted hairs are gone. That was quick and brutal. I see people start shedding end of month 2.
Usually the shedding starts 3 weeks after the surgery, but there are individual differences. Sometimes it starts earlier, sometimes later. Hopefully the regrowth will begin a bit sooner too.
@@stu1038 Yes, I am almost at month 4 and I am super happy already with the result. The growth started around month 3 and then it grew quick. No worries, I looked the worse I ever looked in my life.
@@stu1038 i had my crown done 2234 grafts and i am in my third month and hair is growing now, but ya i loss my transplanted hair after a few weeks after procedure and looked as I did before. Also be sure you take finasteride or get a 3 month supply from your clinic to prevent hair loss in other areas, not sure why i need it as my hair loss quit years ago. Lucky for me, my receding hairline isn't bad for me so just needed touch up on crown, my hair is thick everywhere, but i wouldn't get a hair transplant again. Sleeping with a neck pillow sucks and some nights within my first 7 days i couldn't sleep, couldn't drink beers, the hat ordeal that some suggest to not wear is absurd, you need to wear a hat, a loose one, to protect scalp if you go outside or to prevent crap going on your scalp from wind. The clinic had me wear one of their hats when i left. I did put up with irritation from hell on graft area for 3 months, just recently i seem to be fine and hair is growing as mentioned. You have to be sure to scrub the scabs off the grafts after 7 days but when their gone you have to pat shampoo graft area lightly until after a good month and pour water only. Clinic claim after 14 days you can wash normally. If you guys haven't had a procedure i noticed red onion lotion applied to bald spot for a week or two you notice scruff or I did anyway but be sure to wash it away after 30 mins or you start to feel flushed and have a headache.
I was not given saline but special foam to apply and shampoo for the rear of the head. This was to be used from day 1. Why do some say saline and others say warm water wash?
Is it better when the newly transplanted hairs shed sooner after or later generally speaking does it play a role in determining how successful the hair transplant is.

Hi I had a fut in the past and looking to do a fue but also add grafts to my fut scar one dr told me the hairs will not grow in a scar tissue can this be done at your place?
We do not recommend wearing hats for around 2-3 weeks - initially, the newly implanted hairs can get stuck to the material and may get pulled out. Every clinic has its own set of rules for the aftercare; it's always best to follow your doctor's advice as they are the most familiar with your case and your recovery.
