Me in my bathroom freaking out because my parents will kill me and i kinda look like Dora’s cousin but then my hair dried and you can’t notice it that much
Wait for y'all hairdressers in the chat, would curtain bangs look good with straight hair? Can curtain bangs look good if they're straight? Or do you need to curl them? Lmk, 💗💗
Complain: بعيدان انك ببتكلم زاي البنات البتاع باظ اترجل بقي و مش بتعرف تشرح ارف عليك translate:you are beautiful and you voice is angelic thank you that helped so much😍
Girls!! If you want these bangs follow this video! I got back from the salon and did these exact steps to touch up what I had done and it made my bangs sooo much better! ❤
Same, the hairdresser basically did the first step (cutting straight, and waaay too short btw) and stopped there 🤦♀ I had to wait two months before I could try this method and it fixed it so well ! ✨
My favorite tutorial EVER!! Simple, straightforward and so practical. I only get my hair cut every 12 weeks, but my bangs need a touch up every 4-6, so this is perfect! I just followed your tutorial for a second time and they’re even better than when I first tried! ❤❤
I asked my stylist for curtain bangs and she told me "in the thirty years I've been cutting hair I never have heard of that term". Now here I am.... Cutting my own, with Brad's help.
I just cut my bangs after watching this and I haven’t looked so good in such a long time! I really don’t have money to go to a stylist right now, thank you so much, Brad! I’m so happy!❤
My bangs had grown out SO much that they were almost parallel to my chin. I couldn’t put my hair back without it looking weird. I am SO glad I watched this. This is one of the best tutorials I’ve seen. Thank you Brad Mondo!💁🏼♀️
@@toniamark lol yeah idk who told you gen z was actually making fun of millennial’s side parts and skinny jeans. Literally all the gen z ik did that in middle school. I bet one person said it for laughs, a bunch of millennials took it too seriously and gen z has been laughing at their reaction and not their actual style ever since
I thought it was just an age thing thats why I mentioned the millenial part, growing up the middle part was what we had as kids thus considered ugly so we were all about the side part 🤣 I didn't know it had become an issue lol
That's literally the entire point of this video LMFAOOOOO. Not me, btw, (I know how to my cut, color, style my hair.. been doing it for like 14 years now) but omg some of these people are crazy thinking these weird online "hacks" are gonna work && 💩. I must say, it's quite entertaining tho🤣😭☠ yet very, very, stupid that grown adults think it's a good idea, time && time again LOLOL.
just followed this tutorial to trim my bangs and ended up with literally the cutest ones i've ever had??? i love them??? thank you so much you just saved me like 40 bucks and i can now do this at home
Not me craving to give myself curtain bangs and watching this, then looking at the release date and realizing it came out on my birthday, thIS IS DENFINETLY A SIGN IM DOING IT-
@@LifeAccordingToZoe first time cutting my hair by myself trying how my mom does it but I was like why can’t I get one side right but I remembered that my mom was ambidextrous
This literally just saved my life. I just moved to a new town and all the hair salons look sus. Followed each step of this tutorial and I highly enjoyed it and ended up with perfect bangs!!! LOVE U BRAD
For my curly haired people who want to impulsively cut bangs!! Remember to cut a few inches from where you want it or else it’ll end up shorter once it dries up. I tried this a few minutes ago, im lookin like a whole new woman😎
To everyone who is thinking about to do these curtain bangs GO FOR IT !!!! I did it and they turned out so freaking good if you want stronger cheekbones curtain bangs are a PERFECT option . This video saved me from a terrible bangs 💕
I gave myself curtain bangs because I feel more confident with them- but my mom got really mad at me and said they look like shit and that I should have had a professional do it. BUT TECHNICALLY, YOU WALKED ME THROUGH THE PROCESS AND DID IT 😅❤️
Me 2 weeks ago! and I was thinking to let it grow but I think I will retouched it. Followed another tutorial pretty similar to this one and my curtain bangs turned out really pretty.
Lol beat you to that. Last month I convinced myself that I could do it, and was like "ugh, can't do this" after the first two cuts, so I grabbed my scissors, braided my hair, and pixied it. Now I want to grow it back because somehow the pixie is more high maintenance than my long hair 😂
I was trying to remember where have i seen that face....lol..... Thank god i read ur comment other wise i would have spent entire 15min thinking abt the expressions... 🤣lol
I DID IT!! OMG.. I can't believe I'm finally that psycho on the internet, who cut their own bangs, looking at a RU-vid tutorial. But it worked so well for the first timer.. Thanks Brad Mondo! :')
@@celesteharman5787 I started directly at the 2nd step, where he crisscrosses the 2 sides of the hair, so that I have more margin to correct the fuckup.. Goodluck to you!
@@Queenie1612 Oof kinda wish I'd seen this comment before I did mine! I should've started at the 2nd step too, I messed up the angle a bit so I didnt quite get the bevel right, but I'm not touching them now haha! They didnt turn out bad for my first time cutting bangs lol :)
This is LITERALLY THE BEST curtain bang tutorial out there! I'm in beauty school and wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing. And I DO! it took like 5 minutes and even while they were wet they seriously looked flawless! Now I'm cutting curtain bangs like a champ! Thank you Brad Mondo!
Time stamps: What you'll need- 1:25 Step 1 (damp and comb hair)- 2:18 Step 2 (sectioning)- 2:36 Step 3 (start to snippy snip)- 4:32 Step 4 (part hair, over direct, and snippy snip more hair)- 6:04 Step 5 (check work)- 7:30 Step 6 (how to style bangs)- 8:40 Step 7 (cut into hair)- 9:45 Step 8 (Optional dangerous cutting to thin fringe)- 10:18 Brad's finished look- 11:37 Edit/tip- my dad cut it for me. its shorter than I wanted. if you have wavy/curly hair, make sure to have extra length bc without the weight of the hair you cut off your hair will become curlier making the hair you cut seem shorter. Also I kept my side part and it still looks good (minus it being shorter than what I wanted) Edit 2- this is a low risk haircut but it made me look totally different. My friends say it suits me, but it took me a day to like it bc it was such a change. It really only blends into my hair nicely when I curl it. When I don't it just looks out of place. Edit 3- omg y'all! this haircut is perfect! I've been trying to find gender fluid hair cuts (I'm questioning), and all the haircuts were so short and a huge commitment. I wanted to keep my long hair bc I feel like a girl most of the time and thats when I want long hair, so this is perfect when I want the short hair look. When I want to present as a boy I can hide my hair in a beanie and leave the bangs out. I understand that girls can have short hair and boys can have long hair, but for me I change my hair depending on what gender I want to present as. Thanks Brad, love you! :)
This video has worked for me over and over for years and gets me a look much better than when I am going to an actual hairdresser. Thank you Brad Mondo for giving us this
I followed this tutorial 2 years ago and cut myself curtain bangs that looked amazing. They grew and here I am again watching the same video and cutting them again. Thank you so much❤❤
This man is so talented and saves women so much money from the salon prices. God bless you, sir. and yes, majority of us are going to use kitchen scissors there’s no way around it.
Brad helping us out when our hairstylist have too many opinions and won’t cut our hair the way we want lol. Used this tutorial 3 months ago and loved it, trimming them again today
I identify with this, I’ve been getting such grumpiness from my stylist, time to find someone else! It’s not like she even gives me a good reason why she doesn’t want to cut it the way I ask, which I would respect.
I just got my hair cut and she was so conservative with the cut millimeters at a time. I typical rock the shaggy 70’s look with these bangs. By the end I decided when I get home I’ll just re-wet and cut it myself like I normally do… ugh. What a waste of money
just cutted my first bangs ever, i wanted them for almost 4 years and today i randomly decided it’s time. It’s gorgeous, thank you SO much brad! girlies if you have any questions, shoot, i should be able to respond here or I can give you my ig and send you photos even. Don’t be scared it’s fun!!
I am OBSESSED with my hair I cannot stop staring at myself in the mirror. I didn’t want to cut them until you made a video on them and I’m so glad you did, thank you Brad!!!
Brad mondo, let me tell you one thing first- i love your work. The way you explain everything and make it fun, is really comandable. You didn't bore for a single second with your lengthy videos. Truth to be told, you make me confident enough to trying out my own hair cuts. Love you and please don't ever stop making such videos.
I think it's always wise to start off doing it a couple of inches longer than you want it. That way you have room for trial and error. I followed this tutorial but cut my first layer an inch below my chin. Once I had finished and saw that it looked good I went back and cut an inch and a half more off! I absolutely love it!!!
I forgot that rule ong i was so focused on following the exact instructions i cut it and it was shorter than i meant- ITS IN MY EYESSSS UGHHHH but hey it looks like 6/10 so not horrible
Most definitely, especially if you're cutting it wet, wet is not true, length hair shrinks up, and some shrinks up more than others. To be safe I would cut all of this dry if you're not a seasoned Pro
Great tutorial. I’m a hairstylist and did this on myself. After that first straight across cut i was sweating it but when i followed what you said they turned out great! Thank you!
I just cut my own curtain bangs! if I didn’t watch this tutorial I would probably be sobbing in my room from a failed attempt at bangs honestly. I cut them a little thick and they brush just above my cheekbones and I really like them. I’m glad I watched this, would’ve totally botched the swooping on the edges without this. and here’s a tip! if you have wavy hair like me that’s pin straight when wet but curls into all sorts of funky shapes at the ends, leave lots of wiggle room when you make that first cut! I cut mine just above my lip to leave room to cut it shorter and THANK GOD because right after that it bounced up in a swoop and I only had to trim a bit to fix it.
The same thing happened with me lol. I have wavy hair too and as I was shaping them I realized I'm cutting them shorter and shorter. Then I kept replaying this video till I got the perfect shape!
@@sophialillislover4eva ooooh good!! I was thinking about doing my own, but I didn’t trust myself or my mum so I just went and got them done 😂 they’re nice tho I like em.
Used this video as a guide to refresh the whispy curtain bangs my teen is growing out. They were a bit too long for school photos today, but I was able to cut them well with your guidance. The photo turned out so cute - her favorite school photo so far! Thank you so much!!!
So I went into a stylist today to get curtain bangs and they were just an uneven mess. I followed this tutorial and on my GOOOOSH they turned out exactly how I originally wanted them! You saved my hair, thank you so much🤩
This is the second time I follow your tutorial to cut my curtain bangs. First time, it looked great (for the first time cutting my hair by my own), but now it's looking AMAZING! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
My 12 year old son BEGGED me to watch this video and give him curtain bangs. I finally relented and followed along with this video. They came out PERFECT, and he couldn’t be more proud of Brad Mondo and I! Thanks for the collaboration!🤜🏻🤛🏻🫶🏻😁
I went to the salon and asked my hairdresser for curtain bangs, and she gave me a little face framing but not really bangs. So I decided to do it myself using this tutorial. I left them a little bit longer (out of fear) but they turned out perfect! I've never been able to successfully cut my own hair before. Thank you for the tutorial!!
@@taetaeislifeu895 you really should just try it, I had the exact same thing I even showed her a picture, so when I got home i was like let's just try it hahah and im happy I did it, it's not that hard, just start longer than you want and you can always go shorter:)
I had my hair cut today and asked for curtain bangs and now I have a really short layered "fringe" that starts at my eyebrows and is layered all the way down to the end of my hair! 🤦 I am devastated! 😢
I did a modified version of this tutorial. I wanted curtain bangs, but side parts look way better on me than center parts. So I followed all the steps except when it came to doing the bevel part. I parted my hair on the side where I usually part my hair and then overdirected and cut both sides. The bulk of the curtain bangs are on one side, but I still have a little bit on the other side to give me some face framing. They look soooo good! I'm so happy that I still get the pretty schwoopy curtain bangs, but I get to keep a side part! Thanks Brad!!!
@Sara_USA just start off slow and cut less than you initially planned to! I did my first cut an inch below my chin so I had room for error. Once I got the hang of it all and saw how it was going to look I was able to go back and cut more! It looks amazing and I have a side part with long hair! You've got this sis! Just start with a longer cut than you want to eventually end up with and make sure to not take too much hair when making your triangle! I part my hair from the left to right so the majority of my bangs were on the right side. After I did my first round of this tutorial I realized I needed to bring my bang line from my part all the way down to near my ear. The small triangle left it not blending too well into my hair. I think it's because of the side part and having the majority of the curtain bangs on one side. Anyway, I hope that makes sense and helps some! Good luck!!
@@lindsaysmith2015 Thanks for commenting on this post! My hair has been driving me crazy because I hadn't cut it since I left this comment 8 months ago. I just gave myself a haircut and redid my bangs. I sectioned them much better this time, and I love them even more this time!! I'm so so glad it worked out for you too!!!
@@Valentine-yohohohoOoOo I have no idea. I have naturally straight hair. Maybe look up pictures of girls with wavy hair and curtain bangs to see if you like what that would look like. After years of trying to get certain hair styles and them not coming out looking right on me, I've learned that hair texture/thickness is really important. So I try to look at hair styles that will work for my specific hair type because someone with wavier or thicker hair than me will look completely different. I hope this helps!
You're an angel. This guided me through doing my 9 year olds hair, you were so kind and positive, she's so happy with it. She said "he was so nice, can you give him a like?" So ofc I did❤
My mum just cut me these curtain bangs at 8 pm in a dimly lit bathroom and I am in love with the effect. They came out really well and I feel changed for the better ! I needed a change in my hair and this was definitely the right thing to try ! I feel like my hair has a style now and not just grown out bangs. Thank you Brad ! 💙 So if you're just thinking about it, try it !
It was the first time ever for me to cut my hair myself and it was a scary experience, but it looks great. This is literally the best tutorial and so easy to follow ;) Love your sense of humor, you really light up my day and I'm kinda addicted to your videos XD
My hairstylist came highly recommended- I asked for curtain bangs and she gave me long layers blended in with the rest of my hair. Brad, you’re coming in clutch! But imma watch this a few more times until I give myself real curtain bangs 🙌 Edit: did it. Love them. Thanks Brad- living my extra LIFE!
Ughh that was like my stylist too when I asked her for curtain bangs! I had to tell her like 3 times to go shorter and they still just ended up looking like long layers 😂 I'm decided now, I'm gonna try this myself!
Yessss getting so tired of all this “do a middle part” side parts are ugly shit. My hair is permanently fixed into the side part and no amount of forcing and blow drying will it go into the middle.
