Thank you for giving actual pictures that explain everything you are saying. If anyone needs to do a haircut on this type of hair I am 100% going to recommend this video. This video needs waaaaay more love ❤️❤️❤️ very well said as well
I told my barber that I'm worried about my hairline and he recommended the exact opposite for me. Really short sides and very long top. I'm going to try this, thank you.
Great advice, thank you! It’s so hard telling clients and myself haha. Your haircut looks great! Hopefully the fuller sides will eventually catch on more. Keep up on the awesome vids!
Thank you! I am seeing a lot of haircuts with fuller sides coming into fashion, especially having a heavier nape area-- not quite a mullet but just heavier around the lower occipital. I hope it takes of, I think it's refreshing
Really appreciate all the solid content you pump out. During this time where we have nothing but time I've been using your videos as a daily classroom session every morning. Trying to fill my brain with as much knowledge as I can get. Next time your in Nashville lets link up! Thanks again brutha!
This is the smartest, most constructive advice on how to style hair with a receding hairline. I live 40 miles away but I'm ditching my hair stylist and coming straight to you next time. As men get older and likely face this issue, having a barber who can advise us based on our unique head/hairline is invaluable.
You’re so knowledgeable and I feel like a better hairdresser after hearing your point of view so thank you 😊 I would love to see whoever cuts your hair walk us through the haircut and adding in the texture. Thanks
from the intro I thought you were going to advice to shave it off. But the advice you gave was actually quite good, it's some of the best hair advice I have seen yet. Your hair is looks real good as well
Hey Andrew, thanks for the great contents. Please keep it up. I really like your perspective on receding hairlines. I would always go with short sides althoguh I don't make the top too volumed. I was curious if you could make a video on how to make one of those hair styles like at 5:32 and 5:49. What kinds of brushes do we need and how do we use the hair products to make those styles.
I haven't gotten a hair cut in a few years because as a 17 y/o with a bad hairline I felt down, now I know what to go ask a barber tomorrow thank you for the inspiration.
So I'm curious; Is the thumbnail actually what your hairline is? Or was that exaggerated for a good thumbnail? Because that's roughly what mine is. However, I've had my hair long for such a long time that I didn't notice it until recently, and trying to contemplate how to even go about getting a proper cut after hair places open up. But yours looks fantastic, honestly.
@@Orlyy This particular cut was done by @Henlo_ (instagram) who is in Florida, but he was passing through California and I was lucky enough to snag a cut from him. He TOTALLLLLY gets it, when I explained I wanted the front shorter than the rest and just sort of "there" but not up or down, he nailed it. A lot of haircutters are so used to always squaring off the front that I have to be that jerk client who asks three more times for "a little more off the front, please" and often times I'll just go home and cut it shorter myself.
I hope you're taking notes gentleman! A cut that fits your hair type and hairline makes a huge difference! Jude Law is 🔥 but he was looking like a 🚫 before he got a style that suits him better!
I'm receding, have a super wide head, have straight hair, and a cowlick in the front. I am doomed. Nothing looks good on me at all Filling up the sides makes my head ever wider.
I've been doing these hairstyles on myself since the day I first saw the Incubus "Stellar" video because I was in love with Brandon Boyd obviously. I literally got up, grabbed some scissors, went to the mirror and started cutting my hair while the song was still playing. Then I saw The Rules of Attraction and fell in love with Shannyn Sossamon and then started cutting it like a lesbian. Now, I'm on a Peaky Blinders wannabe look because I always impulsively buzz my head after falling into my yearly manic depressive episodes around Christmas time.
I’m 16 and my hairlines fucked. I’ve tried shaving it which hasn’t worked as you can still see the sides well on their way back, what the fuck am I supposed to do? I don’t want to be the one guy my age with a receding fucking hairline and at this point I’m losing fucking hope
everyone recommends short on sides, but I really didnt like that. After listening to you it touched my heart.Thumbs up and thank you very much for this..
Same concepts apply, just consider the entire look and try to get the rest of the haircut to draw focus back away from the peak, and don't let anything in that area create a strong part of your silhouette or it steals focus and brings it to the front
I have a similar hairline to this but with a cowlick on one side and my hair is curly. I need help lol. Can I email you or something a photo so you can tell me what to do?? 😂
Could you do a video on the best hairstyles for different face shapes? For example I have an oblong face shape and I don't know what hairstyles would look best on me.
It's my go to haircut for guys at this stage, too. I often struggle to to make decisions when asked to suggest 'suitable' hairstyles across the board, as I'm indecisive in general but when it comes to guys with concerns about large foreheads and receding hairlines, this option just makes so much sense; providing they've still got enough left to do it...
thank you man you made me like my hair as it is because I have hated it and gone for the buzz cut and felt more hated for it now I will do your advice and start growing it and ingey want I have left of it
Great advice... I've always naturally done this.. also.. depending on your hairline .. i have enough at the front width wise.. but receding at the temples.. not bad like Jude law.. i just grow my hair out some on top.. and part my hair in the middle.. but you can't really see the part, and its uneven part anyway.. but the extra volume if use to fill in the hair line.. sorta like the (wings) hair cut that went out of style but it works
Great advice, I like the diffused look with fuller sides and less emphasis on the top. I do think that in some cases there are guys who can own their recession and make it work for them. They need the right texture with enough density and the attitude to rock it.
andrewdoeshair Here is an repost image on my IG: instagram.com/p/B9nJV1rKONC/?igshid=cezc285jqec If you swipe to the second and third image, you can really see the effect. There is something badass about being who you are. I know hair loss is an issue for men, but never to the extent that it is today. It’s vanity vs reality. When did men start to lose touch with reality?
I don't know much about them, but a friend of mine had it done 15 years ago and they looked great. I think he spent like $10k and while it didn't give him an absolutely stellar hairline it did make his hair fuller and overall made him look younger (he was like 21 at the time and looked like he was going on 35 before the transplants).
For me it’s not even about what other people think, I mean I’m not really trying to be attractive to anyone- I just don’t look like I used to look and that’s weird to get used to.
