Hey bro, the cut was good however a high skin fade would actually bring more attention to the bald sides and gives a distraction and illusion to the thinning top. Just a suggestion since the mid fade looked good however wouldve been better for the fade to go a bit higher and remove some length in the middle since its fuller than the top👍👍👍

Yes it’s tough. I started thinning at 18 and gradually got worse as the years went by. I wore a hat everywhere I went lol but now at 27 I have accepted it and shaved it all off.

⁠@@Daviiid_23exact same thing for me. Always had a hat on from highschool to 25. Finally just buzzed it down to zero. I’m 40 now and wouldn’t even want hair if I could. Almost zero maintenance and cost having a shaved head. It does help that I have a nice shaped head and my ears don’t stick out. If I had a lop sided head and my ears were huge I don’t know how I would feel about it. Plus I’m married so I really don’t give a shit what I look like anymore. Lol

As the Mom of 2 teenage boys (one is 15 and the other is 16) I can only imagine how hard that it must be for Jamie at such a young age. My husband is now bald (he had started losing his hair in his early 20's) and now that he's bald after losing his hair in the same area as you have, I think he looks AMAZING. I hope you know Jamie, I think so many will think you're handsome and can pull off any look you decide to go with! Hoping that you can gain confidence in your new haircut! bruh my confidence was destroyed when i realised I couldn't do a combover anymore. My long hair has always been a big part of my identity. Luckily im rocking a middle part while regrowing my hairline with rosemary oil and a derma stamp, it will just take some time. But when i saw my temples were more exposed after a haircut, it really did hurt me quite a bit. I have a naturally high hairline as well so everything short made me looked stupid

@@lewisgreen5910 While you might get some temporary regrowth, if you don't take a DHT blocker (typically finasteride) to address the underlying cause of hair loss, you will still eventually recede. It's a bit like pouring water into a bucket with a hole at the bottom of it. You need to fix the underlying cause (the hole) before you can have a sustainably full bucket.

He does look like a model. He’s gorgeous. His hair was distracting.

My goodness, what a handsome young man ... yes, cut it short. This may sound a little woo-woo, but affirmations on focus of what we don't have or losing, to a mindset of focusing on what we DO have will reverse so much in his life. What we fear we attract ... stop worrying about losing hair and focus on the positives ... stress and medications are a temporary state. Re -growth is possible with a redirected focus, mindset and nutritional adjustments. Hair loss can be nutritional deficiencies.

Same happened to a family member of mine at an early age. that was in the 70's when hair was in. He would not go anywhere without a ball cap. Now, he shaves his head bald. What a relief it would have been had he not let low self-image affect him as a young man.

Most large cities have barbers like this in specialty barber shops. You’ll pay for it, but it is worth it.

Distinctive Hair Groomers in Mitchellville, MD or Barber’s of Hell’s Bottom in the city. Here in Morgantown, WV, we have Diamond Cutz and Ladies and Gents. In NYC they have tons of places: Barber’s Point in SoHo, or Mankind Barbers in NYC as well. Just look in any major city. And google “specialty barbers”. You’ll find them. Good luck!

We know it hurts you, that's why the ham-handed advice. I myself am not losing hair, but I'm surrounded by people who are, including my brother, who started losing hair when he was 17. Everyone I know who's losing hair is a great person, with tons of potential, and most of them are limiting themselves for their situation. It's ENRAGING to watch intelligent, otherwise reasonable people let their hair dictate their attitude and kill their confidence. Watching someone suffer over their hair is like watching someone self-harm. That feeling of helplessness we get being around someone we love and watching them fixate on a feature we don't care about is such bullsh!t. I HATE IT. Some days I'm overwhelmed with the urge to scream "GET THE F**** OVER IT" ... Obviously that's not fair, but until people can get past this huge importance they put on their hair, they're going to let their self-confidence leak away until they're just a shadow of who they could be. I've seen completely bald men AND women that have great confidence, and are just living their lives in the best way. I wish we could do a self-confidence transfusion from those people to people like you. Just ... inject a different perspective so you can chop it all off and get on with your life. Sorry about the rant, especially since you're already dealing with a lot. Except it's not a lot. Or only is to you. It doesn't help at all. I've been losing hair since I've been 13 years old. I have never been "truly happy" after that. I'm 19 now. It's the worst thing that could happen to you, in terms of appearance.

@@LisaSpangenberg It would be indefinite so it’s not for everyone. Pros are it slows down hair-loss and it’s fairly easy to take (a tablet a day). The cons are for a minority of men (2% approx) a decrease in sex drive can occur but it usually subsides even with continued use but in rare cases it does persists and discontinuation of the drug is recommended to allow things to return to normal. But the online community blows these sides completely out of proportion. Most people (the majority of users) have success with the medications and move on with their lives. All medications come with risks and they should be acknowledged but they shouldn’t be obsessed over - as this can’t actually lead to an nocebo effect. A lot of people say it’s a fuss to take a tablet everyday but I’d argue that having to shave your head every-other-day is an even bigger fuss. You brush your teeth twice a day to keep your teeth healthy. It’s just maintenance, and it’s easier to maintain than to restore. All I’m saying it’s very good to see young guys recognising that there are options available and don’t fall for the mass hysteria that is prevalent within the hair loss community.

I thought about starting to use finasteride to help against hair loss but reading about all the possible side effects and the negative experiences that many people had has completely turned me off. I’m pretty sure it’s more than just 2% who experience side effects.

@@Jack_99DE According to clinical trials 3.8 % of the participants experienced some form of side effects and about 2.1 % on the placebo pill reported also side effects. It could be higher, some have contended that it could be as high as 5% Usually the people that the pill works for move on and don’t look back and you never hear from them. I was scared as well but I’ve had no sides whatsoever and it’s been easy sailing. If you were to sprinkle it in my cereal without my knowledge I wouldn’t notice a thing except less hair-loss. If you’re concerned but interested, talk to your Doctor, get your bloods checked and start off low. So 0.5mgs or even 0.25mgs. It’s better to see if the Meds agree with you when the hair-loss is mild as opposed to waiting until your a Norwood 4 plus to then start the treatment. Read about the side effect but also read the success stories. You can also do the topical finasteride - I believe you can even make it yourself by crushing the pills and dissolving it in minoxidil never tried it myself but there’s videos on RU-vid about it. Although I do recommend getting it from a pharmacy or a company like Hims or Manual but it can be pricey 👎

@@LisaSpangenberg I’ve been taking finesteride for over 10 years now 😅 yes it’s everyday. The male body creates a hormone “DHT” it’s converted from testosterone, well the pill suppresses DHT. Because that’s the hormone that destroys hair follicles. I always take mine in the morning.. it’s easy.
